1. and the dog just thought he would point out that your re-joining the thread a tad too late...the discussion evolved and the moral victory concept was speaking to being satisfied with a season short of the super bowl...

Dog? Question? Let's just say your favorite team is the Cardinals (example only). And in the 2008 season they go 10-6 and make the NFC wildcard. They play the New Orleans Saints in the wildcard game and win...then your Cards advance to play the hated SF 49ers (mind you they lost two regular season games vs the SF 49ers). Nobody in the media gives your team a chance vs the 49ers. The Cards upset the 49ers and advance to the NFC Championship vs the Bears (all hypothetical situations of course). Again, no one is giving your Cards a chance. Would you not be happy with the season overall IF your Cards should happen to lose vs the Bears? Esp if your Cards finally won some playoff games??

  2. the dog disagrees with gaining satisfaction from a season short of a Super Bowl, particularly when you are just one game away...reread the post again for further clarification...if you are not in it to win the whole thing, moral victories mean very little in the end...

Moral Victory = (in football tems) example...NYG 35 NE 38

    Playoff Victory = NYG 21 DAL 17

Just thouht I'd point that out. ;)

  3. Meanwhile, Eli has been subjected to a weekly colonoscopy since the day he was drafted. A lot of the criticism has been merited, and I'm sure the armchair QBs will be back at it on Monday if he has a rough game up in Lambeau.

But let's not EVER blame Tony Romo for any playoff loss. Never!!!!

    Wow!!!!!

(Eli gets the weekly Colonic cleansing too!)

Other than relieving you temporarily from constipation, frankly there are no health benefits to having a tube inserted up your rectum and your colon flushed with concoctions of water, herbs, enzymes or even coffee. If you are concerned about the health of your colon get more fiber in your diet OUT HERE!

  4. Won't matter.

You want us to win the BIG ONE? How bout you win a little one first? They're called playoff games, and unlike the regular season games, they all count. They're all final.

    :worshippy:

THAT right there....is the post of the year (for ALL Dallas fans). WOW!

  5. I applaud the Giants game plan, as they are clearly attempting to limit what they ask Eli to do. But I wonder how long they can do this and be successful. Sooner or later, in the playoffs, you have to be able to make big plays in the passing game.

Well was Toomer's first TD a 'big play' that was made (vs your Cowboys)? It was a long TD 'pass' for a TD??? Or was the pass to Boss from Eli a 'big play' during that :57 seconds left in the half drive?

Eggy? You're acting like Eli isn't making ANY big throws or big plays in these playoffs. Limiting what Eli can do? Hmmmn. Eli's numbers are better in the last 4 weeks (including the playoffs). I believe 1 int and 6 TDs during that stretch. So if 'they' are limiting what Eli is doing....I love it....Eli still has thrown TDs (big and small) lately. Limiting what he does in the passing game would be like 3 straight handoffs and hoping that one of the runs get you a TD or first down. As you saw, that didn't happen. Egg, if you watched the game...the Giants avg starting field position was great. Meant shorter drives, run game was working ok, and Eli took what the D gave him in the passing game. Sometimes I think that the Dallas staff should have 'clearly limited' what Romo had to do...being that Marion Barber was crushing us in the Running game.... <_<

  6. you are limiting the loss to one last drive...this loss extends to the fact that the cowboys ran all over the giants for the better part of 3 quarters, and then ran just 4 times in the 4th quarter...the o-line went south, the center couldn't snap shotgun, receivers dropped passes...this loss goes well beyond romo's last drive. the dog believes he is a quality QB that will be good for a long time...he needs to handle the pressure of the big games better, but that will come in time...giant fans should recognize that better then anyone...

Well when Giants fans made 'excuses' about the Washington/NYG game when Eli threw it for 52 times AND Jacobs avg 5 yds per carry that game....Some folks jumped all over that...saying "don't blame the play calling, don't blame the wind, it's Eli: he just doesn't perform well at times....too streaky, cracks under pressure, not accurate...etc,etc.. Now some of us are making 'excuses' for Romo? It was a closely fought game and some games come down to one last play to win it or lose it. I wont push aside all of the other drives that happened the first three quarters. Both teams did some good things and both teams did some bad things. But IF Eli would have been in Romo's shoes in that fourth quarter and threw that pick to end the game for the Giants...I am willing to guess your 'tune' would not be the same. You and the entire media would have crucified Eli. Comments that come to mind would have been "Eli can't read defenses, he collapsed under pressure, why did he throw that pass?...." And your alter ego would have said "makings of a B-U-S-T."

  7. the dog has to admit that he is a tad disappointed in your analysis here...you typically are able to do a little better, but you are letting your disdain for a rival's QB blur your vision...romo made mistakes, but the fact is, he is a quality QB that was under intense pressure due to the an o-line collapse, poor coaching, and a center's inability to snap shotgun...his interception in the end was a 4th a long situation with 20 or so seconds on the clock...no choice but to throw that one towards the end zone and hope for the best...

if you want to pin this completely on the QB, then you really have little ability to see a game for what it is...the dog thought you were better then that...

    Cool....

...Romo is a good QB, no doubt....

...but we have to go back to our favorite word 'excuses'. No O line, no coaching, bad play calling, etc etc.. But in the end (4th and 20) it was Romo that threw the pick. I can recall a particular game where Eli and the Giants were playing Denver....you probably watched it. Anyway, Eli needed to throw a TD to win it and completed the TD to Toomer. Say what you want to but Eli got a lot of praise for completing that winning TD pass. Some might say "Eli won that game for us". Now when it comes to Romo NOT making that TD pass this past Sunday leads me to believe he COULD NOT win the big game (again). No matter what transpired BEFORE it got to that last second 'heave' to the end zone to possibly win it....Romo did not get 'er dunn...can u agree?

  8. Interesting question. What strikes me about jacobs is that he couldn't get a first down in the Dallas game when the Giants needed it. Isn't that what you have a 260 pound back for?

Its going to be cold in Lambeau and the weather may be bad. This should be the perfect conditions for Jacobs. Will he show up?

Its going to be cold in Lambeau "Lambeau" isn't a city....it's going to be cold at Lambeau FIELD is what you probably meant?

...he couldn't get a first down in the Dallas game when the Giants needed it. He didn't get a first down in the recent Cowboy loss to the Giants when needed? Hmmmn? But Jacobs got a TD or two I believe. And "big Mouth" Jacobs did a pre game routine of TD spikes BEFORE the game....and told Pam Oliver that he was going to score a few times (not with Pam of course, she's married I believe).

Jacobs. Will he show up? Well I take it he will make the flight to Green Bay. He isn't on the I.R. is he? The real question is: Will Tony, Terrell, Marion, Tank, Patrick or Wade show up? IF they do...tell 'em to bundle up, git ya popcorn ready and prepare to enjoy traditional PLAYOFF football. Oh by the way, you wouldn't know about playoff victories....your team aint won a playoff in your lifetime.

  9. I take my hat off to the Giants.....Beat the Packers and win the Superbowl. Win the big game. That will shut everyone up. Just win two more games! There have been plenty of historic upsets in professional sports. Win the big game already!

If the Giants were to win the Superbowl, I would come on here the next day, and then I would never post again.

Win the big game...should be changed to suit YOUR Cowboys. COWBOYS win a PLAYOFF game. 12 mutha fucking years and 6 playoff loses.....win the 'big' game already. There's been numerous teams that won PLAYOFF games since the Dallas Cowboys won ONE!!!! Win a freakin' playoff game already???!!! And stop lying...IF the Giants were to win the Superbowl, you'd be in here more than ever!!!! I'm thinking that you actually like being around us true Giants fans....maybe your Dallas board fans are too wishy washy???

  10. IF the Giants win tommorow. This would be JUST as big (to me) as the victory in the 90's vs SF. That year the mghty 49ers were supposed to trounce us.....and we fuckin' knocked Montana silly, Roger Craig fumbled, and the Giants kicked a winning FG to seal it. I lost 17 pounds of water from sweating. I wanted that game BAD and got it!!!!

I would be PUMPED for monday IF the Giants beat these Cowboys. I could go to work and say to the 6 Cowboy fans "Hey, Cowboy Fan? We won Beeeotchh-h-h-h!!!"

    Bump!

  11. QUOTE(blunatic @ Jan 14 2008, 02:30 PM)

i really don't care- they're both on eggnore now. but it's uncanny how they always show up together

    Or:

Bad Egg: [Dials up the Dog] Um yo dog, I'm logging in to the Giants message board. Let's go bud?

Italian HotDog: Sure...sounds like fun. The Dog would find that quite pleasing to chat with Giants fans (He talks like that for real, I assumed)

  12. Good! Keep pissing off our men in Blue. Clearly, they play better with a chip on their shoulder and I am very happy that the "experts" on ESPN are already asking if Green Bay can challenge New England.

That's what made this vicory and any other future victories that much better. I was so glad the Giants won vs the Cowboys but I was even more amped up when the experts had the Giants losing and we proved them wrong!

  13. i still think romo's a good QB and considering there's only about 20 decent ones in the league, they were wise to lock him up long term. he wasn't the reason they lost the game although he did fluster a bit in the end.

But he wasn't the reason they won either. He did throw the last pick. Now would we be saying that IF Romo competes the pass for a Td to beat the Giants? They'd say "Romo carried the Cowboys to the secoond round, Romo wins it." See the logic? So since Romo threw a ball in double coverage for an INT...to me...Romo LOST it. When the game was close AND the Defense stopped the Giants for TWO 3 and outs....why didn't Romo step up?(according to Eggy Romo isn't Eli...). Romo actually 'fell apart' down the stretch like the pressure was too much (again) (see Seattle...botched snap). Again the Dallas defense stopped the Giants and gave the Offense a chance to win it and Romo threw the pick. His fault they lost. And the Giants took advantage and I am HAPPY!

  14. Too bad. Amani is a good WR. Eli's 'security' blanket. When Steve Smith gets into NFL shape maybe he can be that Toomer-esque guy for Eli and the Giants.

Anybody catch the Pam Oliver statement pre game....she said Brandon Jacobs was practicing his TD spikes. She asked him "why" and Brandon said "I plan on scoring a few times". Classic!

(Brandon almost destroyed the play clock after that one TD he scored)

  15. But if your exectations are winning 1 playoff game, wouldn't you agree that your expectations are a little low. Perhaps that is why they really haven't won anything since 90 or 91?

Opposed to those high expectations going without a playoff win for 12 years?

Man I treid to make that 'genuis' Eggy see that his team aint won a PLAYOFF game in 12 years. TWELVE years!!! Fuck????? :LMAO:

    Give it up Egg/Dog.

  16. I can't believe Egg/Italian Dog (same poster) got the balls to come back here AFTER all they said about the "Giants chances". Egg you for one should STFU while you're so called 'ahead'. Your team LOST dog errr Egg....Lost!!!! Typical Cowboy fan though. With that "Oh they beat the Cowboys but do you seriously think they have a chance vs the_________?" How crazy is that? You made so many false statements in plenty of threads...and as you can see I'll bring those Eggy statements right to the forefront for all to laugh at. So consider quitting while you're so called ahead...because you've shot your 'load' already and there's plenty of stupid 'semen' all around.

Eggy remember this the ONLY fact is that you don't know S-H-I-T about football. <_<:P

  17. Go fuck yourself Dog. No one's claiming a Superbowl win yet and we're all extatic that our team came through as underdogs in our rival's (and top NFC seed's) home stadium. If you can't appreciate that you know nothing of football or sports in general, so please take your pathetic attempt at sledging and ram it up your arse.

He wouldn't understand 'fan elation' because his team hasn't won shit lately.

  18. Eggy? How you feelin' about Jerry Jones giving Tony that contract? Romo singlehandedly had TWO chances to get YOUR Cowboys out of that playoff loss drought and he fucked it up! How u really feelin' Egg?

(All the focus was on how Eli was the rattled one, how Eli makes the big mistakes, and Eli was innacurate with his throws...etc. And it was Romo who was the rattled one. Giants NO TURNOVERS....whassup?)

  19. .....Dallas could lose 42-0 the first game they play, or could lose on another botched snap on an extra point. Additionally, NE was the best team they played, and GB was short-handed last Thursday in Texas Stadium

All of that said, I still don't believe Eli can win a playoff game. Do you?

    :LMAO:

Whoa!!!!! I am crackin' up ovah here!

But I know this for a FACT. Tony Romo hasn't won A SINGLE playoff game ever!!!! And to top it off, Romo has had TWO chances to win one in the last seconds and BLEW it!!! I cannot remember ANY QB going thru that two times in his career. And Romo is young. It may just happen a few more times. And Terrell Owens said don't blame Romo??? Well if Romo throws the winning TD yesterday who do we credit? Anyway it was YOU Romo that threw the INT in double coverage with nine seconds left NOT ELI...it was YOU Romo that botched the snap vs Seattle and failed to advance the ball...NOT ELI!!!!

Crediting him with 15-20 minutes of "good" football is a gift. At best, the TD pass to Toomer was a poor pass. At worst, it was a bad call. Regardless, a true gift would be seeing the Giants and their skittish "leader" in Texas this January. I doubt the Cowboys would be that fortunate.

True words spoken by Eggy! :LMAO:
