  1. Sweet, Id love to meet you two in person. You'd love Meadowlands Mafia West,(our little nickname) we're a great bunch of diehard Giant fans who know how to have a good time. Believe it or not, there will be a bigger sea of blue than red. ;)

Cops say school intruder was looking for sex Friday, April 4, 2008

Last updated: Friday April 4, 2008, EDT 5:11 AM BY JASON TSAISTAFF WRITER

OAKLAND — A 48-year-old Hackensack man posed as an ESPN college basketball analyst to gain the trust of four boys who he hoped could set him up with an underage girl for sex, authorities alleged Thursday.

Joel Brodsky was sporting a bogus ESPN press pass and lugging a Giants football helmet when he allegedly approached the four teenagers inside Indian Hills High School on March 26, Bergen County Sheriff Leo P. McGuire said.

Brodsky tried winning over the kids, who were on break from an SAT prep course, by claiming he was ESPN analyst Mark Adams, police said.

"The helmet was allegedly signed by [Giants quarterback] Eli Manning," McGuire said Thursday. "I guess it was a prop to offer some legitimacy that he was, indeed, Mark Adams."

Detectives arrested Brodsky at his Overlook Avenue home Wednesday night, authorities said. He was charged with criminal trespass, endangering the welfare of a child, and abuse of a child, authorities said.

Wearing gray slacks and an untucked dress shirt, Brodsky claimed last Wednesday that he could get the teenagers college scholarships if they introduced him to a 16- or 17-year-old girl for sex, the sheriff said.

Brodsky also brought along his 10-year-old son that night, presumably to get into the high school, McGuire said.

The apprehensive teens immediately reported the incident to a teacher, who in turn told school officials who then alerted borough police.

McGuire, an Oakland resident, learned about the incident when he received a reverse 911 call at home, he said.

Borough police and the sheriff's office worked together to make the arrest.

"You've got to hand it to these boys, to have the wherewithal to report this," the sheriff said Thursday.

Surveillance footage of the 8:30 p.m. incident shows Brodsky, his hair slicked back, walking through the high school hallways with his son behind. The bogus ID hangs from a blue lanyard around his neck, and he carries the helmet by its face mask.

The real Mark Adams, who primarily covers basketball for ESPN's college sports channel ESPNU, could not be reached for comment.

Before starting his broadcast career at ESPN in 1999, Adams held a number of collegiate basketball coaching jobs, including head coach of Central Connecticut State University, according to his Web site, enthusiadams.com.

It was unclear why Brodsky chose to pose as Adams, who is not considered a high-profile ESPN personality, authorities said.

Brodsky, who has been held before for failing to pay child support, was being held on $50,000 bail at the Bergen County Jail, authorities said.

I am in complete awe of your posting skills.

  3. They're either one and the same or friends off of the net.

There are too many coincidences in regards to when and where they're posting from.

    But he'll be back.

It wasn't necessary for him to say he'd disappear if we won the SB.

I pretty much figured that would be the case regardless.

I hope he does come back, and I hope he talks more shit than ever.

He had a lot to do with our success this year.

Fate is a bitch that does not like to be predicted. :D

I do to. I love to watch a good beat down. I'm not crazy about participating in it though. The problem with him was that he was just here to piss people off. Debating and instigating are 2 entirely different things.

  4. I hope we beat him in a good game. Ever since that last game at Shea I've had conflicted feelings on Glavine. It's easy to revert back to hating Glavine, since I did for so long before he became a Met. But I was also at the game where Shea cheered him as a hero after his 300th win. It's amazing to me how fast opinions can change on a sports figure.

It's the unform not the player that you like. That's why. Do you think if David Wright left as a FA and signed with Atlanta you could boo him? I could.

  5. The complete network broadcast of Super Bowl XLII along with both playoff victories of the 2008 Super Bowl winner. The most-watched single annual event in television and a must for any serious fan of the winning team.

It seems this was a generic write up and they assumed it would be won by a division winner (Pats perhaps?) All this time goes by and they couldn't change it before it was put on their site? Fuck Amazon. Fuck them to hell. The fucking thing better have all 3 of the play-off games or I'll fucking choke someone.

  6. I really don't know. Shoo was slowing her time down here but I think she still stops by once in a while. No clue about Pizaster, 9697 and Metallica.

For some this board is not busy enough. There is nothing I can do about that but they can go to BBI and Giants.com if they want a board that is busy. Good luck with those places. BBI doesn't take to kindly to noobs and way to many political posts and not enough Giants stuff. The main page is done well though but the board sucks. Well Giants.com, well all know about that place.

You don't have to sell me on this place. I like it just fine. The only other place I post is reststopcruisin.com. but not very often. People seem to get arrested a lot that go there so I try and lay low.

  7. Lemmiwinks is no big loss here. He is now on BBI annoying everyone. He was one of those who joined here to only argue with the fab 4.

Maybe so but unlike some others he contributed to the GD/baseball section often. If you wanted to fight with them but also contribute in other ways on the site than there could be worse things.

  8. No one needs this guy? Really? I find it hard to believe that every DH or back-up catcher signed to a team (majors or minors) is better than he is.

Does anyone know if he was offered a deal and perhaps just turned them down or did no one call this HOF player at all? I can't believe it if it's the latter.
