    As per Peter King:

     

    The Eagles have had two ties in the last 20 years. Both came on Nov. 16 ... yesterday, 13-13, in Cincinnati; and in 1997, a 10-10 cliffhanger in Baltimore.

     

    I think I simply don't believe Donovan McNabb didn't know there couldn't be ties in the NFL. What did he think? They'd play forever? "I never even knew that was in the rule book,'' he said after the 13-13 snoozer in Cincinnati. That's absurd.

    moves up to where? Jerry Reese is the GM until he doesn't want that job anymore. More likely retire...however I doubt it...you can tell Coughlin loves his job, and who wouldn't when you finally have the team of players you worked hard to build. Sadly if Spags wants to be a head coach, he will probably have to go elsewhere, I just hope it is not Philly.

    What makes me laugh about the Jets is that most of their fans are also Met fans. In being Met fans most of them complain that the Yankees do nothing but buy champonships and big names(something that is not the case but that is for another time)yet this year they love to tell you how the great management team of Tangini as they say brought in 7 former pro bowlers via trade or free agency Favre, Jenkins, Woody, Faneca, Richardson, Law and Bubba Franks and how great those guys have made their team.

     

    Jets are a decent team and they seem to have the perfect storm brewing, Favre trade, Brady injury, Pats injury ravaged, easy schedule, wide open AFC. Sort of like Jimmy Fassel and his magical albeit overrated run in 2000. They could very well go to the SB like that Giant team and probably would get their asses handed to them like that Giant team. I would love to be so lucky as a Giant fan to win another. We have to get there first.

    This comment below an article about the game in The Post says a lot about the Jets

     

    Are you NUTS??!! What kind of "proclamation game" was THIS game??!!

     

    What kind of "proclamation" was it when the Jests had the Patsies down 24 - 6 and then let them come back and tie the game?

     

    What kind of "proclamation" was it when the Jests did next to nothing in the second half?

     

    What kind of "proclamaition" was it when the Jests' "vaunted prevent" defense prevented themselves from winning in regulation by allowing the Patsies to march all the way down the field to a touchdown, with a minute left and NO timeouts?

     

    What kind of "proclamation" was it when the Jests, who'd stuffed Randy Moss all night with double teams, inexplicably -- with the ball on the 8-yeard line -- had a SINGLE defender LAY OFF MOSS 5 YARDS DEEP, thereby allowing the very touchdown the so-called "prevent defense" was trying to prevent??

     

    Boy, talk about a BIG HUGE CHOKE JOB!

     

    It was a matter of sheer happenstance that the Jests won the game at this point. They happened to win the OT coin toss and they took about 8 minutes marching down the field never letting the Patsies have the ball. Credit that to them.

     

    But the Patsies could just as easily have won the coin toss themselves. Or, they could have gambled after they scored the final touchdown with a 2-pooint conversion attempt, settling the game up-and-down, right there, with NO OT.

     

    The Jests were LUCKY to eke out a narrow OT win.

     

    This was NO PROCLAMATION whatsoever.

     

    Geez -- what IS it with NY sportswriters? Ever since I went to Fordham in 1968, I've noted such a great proclivity to EXAGGERATE. Gees -- to a NY writer, a 5-pound bass is the Catch of the Century if it happens inside NYC.

    So, the bottom line here is, Shockey fucked up, and Brees went off on him on the sideline. And because it's Shockey that's been yelled at, it's okay, and Brees is a cool dude for doing so.

     

    Not sure that makes what Brees did as right, I mean we had Plaxicogate here a few weeks ago, and we had people siding with Coughlin and Plaxico, but I think we all agree that the arguing out in the open like that was somewhat embarassing.

     

    I mean, is the Shockey hate that bad here?.

     

    It's like seeing your X fighting with the guy she left you for I guess.

    The Giants aren't like the Titans in that they didn't beat up on the horrific Rex Grossman or stuff the offensively challenged Jacksonville Jaguars. This was McNabb and a solid Eagles team they beat.

     

     

    They stack up with any team including the Titans. Jacobs > LenWhale White.

     

    Eli Manning > Kerry Collins.

     

    Giants offensive line > Tennessee's and so are New York's wide receivers.

     

    New York and Tennessee's defenses are closely matched, but the edge still goes to the Giants because of the best defensive line in football. Let's not forget the Giants won the Super Bowl last season by their defense stuffing the offense of the New England Patriots, the best offense in league history.

     

    The AFC South is dreadful and New York's coaching staff is better than Tennessee's.

     

    Tennessee and New York on a neutral field means 30-10 Giants.

     

    So stop with this Titans stuff. Please.

     

    "They just made some great plays," said Eagles guard Max Jean-Giles of the Giants. "You have to give credit to them. We didn't execute and we came up short just by inches again. Credit the Giants, they just outplayed us."

     

    The Giants aren't perfect. Late in the game Antonio Pierce was called for holding following what would've been the game-clinching interception by New York. Instead, the Eagles got another shot to win. They gave up several stupid fumbles.

     

    But overall the Giants are getting better and smarter. Indeed there were several moments in Sunday night's game when the Giants seemed prescient. Late in the first half with super-weapon Brian Westbrook in the backfield, linebacker Antonio Pierce -- the most underrated defensive player in the conference -- began suddenly waving his arms frantically and pointing to the gap where he thought Westbrook was headed. He told the safety to creep forward and expect Westbrook.

     

    As the ball was snapped Pierce bolted for the exact spot Westbrook ran to and they met with Pierce stuffing him. Pierce saw something on film that alerted him to where Westbrook was exactly headed and guessed perfectly.

     

    If the Giants aren't displaying a high intellect they're exhibiting gut-busting physicality. Late in the final quarter on fourth-and-1 with the contest on the line, Westbrook got the ball and didn't make the first. It was sheer muscle flexing that stopped Westbrook that time.

     

    Game over. Please drive carefully.

     

    Again, the Giants have flaws, but all teams do. The Giants simply commit the fewest. That makes them better than any team in the NFL.

     

    And yes, better than the Titans.

     

    What the hell is with Andy Ried's play calling ?

    Not to take anything away from my beloved Giants, but McNabb had great protection last night and had recievers getting open- why didn't they stick with that - it was working. Eagle fans must be livid

     

    I took a peek at a Eagles forum and most are calling for Andy's death. They are pointing to those 2 running plays at the end of the game as 2 blown play calls. Most are saying that they should have passed and I have to agree with them.
