When I said embarassed I didn't mean it offensively. I just wanted to know how you felt. I personaly have liked Bonds since he was a Pirate in the early '90's... I think if anyone made baseball fun to watch before and after those strikes they had was him... steriods to me is a retarded issue to put drama into a once beautiful sport. Who's to say alot of the greats in boxing, football, baseball, etc. didn't do steriods before the testing was so hard core. People always need speculation. I just wanted the opinion of a SF Giants fan, I never meant to accuse you of liking a guy who "cheats". He was the reason I first starting watching baseball...

Do you personaly think that when Bonds breaks the record that he's deserving on passing Aaron??? I know there is "some" debate he in the later part of Aaron's career that he might have been juiceing, but there's no proof just speculation, so therefore the record is his with no question. You being a S.F. Giants fan will you be happy for him and think he's deserving of it? Or are you embarrassed of the fact your team is supporting a cheater??? What is your honest uptake on this??? D-Backs vs Mets Arizona Diamondbacks starters have been outstanding during the team's season-high seven-game winning streak, and have gotten some much-deserved run support. Brandon Webb hasn't been nearly as fortunate against the New York Mets. The Diamondbacks look to finally give the reigning NL Cy Young Award winner some runs to work with against the Mets when the teams open a three-game series Friday night at Shea Stadium. Arizona's starters have earned a win in each game during the winning streak, posting a 1.65 ERA in that span as the club has scored a total of 55 runs. The Diamondbacks (32-23) received six shutout innings from Randy Johnson in a 4-3 victory over Philadelphia on Wednesday night. Arizona, which is trying to win eight straight for the first time since a 12-game run from June 18-30, 2003, is in a virtual tie for first place with the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego in the NL West. Webb (4-3, 3.74 ERA), however, is just 1-6 in eight career starts against the Mets (34-18) despite posting a 2.59 ERA in that span. The Diamondbacks have not scored a run for Webb in his last three starts against New York. He struggled against the NL-leading Mets earlier this month, surrendering six runs and six hits in six innings as the Diamondbacks lost 6-2 on May 5. The right-hander won his last start by allowing two runs and seven hits while striking out eight in seven innings as Arizona beat Houston 5-4 on Saturday. Webb may be facing a New York lineup that could be without star center fielder Carlos Beltran, who bruised his right knee in a first-inning collision with San Francisco first baseman Rich Aurilia in a 4-2 win on Thursday night. The Mets are already thin in the outfield, with Moises Alou and Shawn Green on the disabled list. Beltran said the pain subsided as the night went on. "I was a little concerned," he said. Beltran is batting .364 (40-for-110) with nine home runs, seven doubles, 29 RBIs, 26 runs and 12 stolen bases in 30 games against the Diamondbacks. If he gets some time off, Carlos Gomez would likely replace him in the lineup. The Mets, who have won five of six overall, have won 15 of their last 17 games against the Diamondbacks. New York won three of four games in Arizona from May 3-6. John Maine (6-2, 2.79) will get the ball for the Mets on Friday, trying to take over the staff lead in victories. The right-hander gave up two runs and four hits while tying a season high with eight strikeouts in six innings to beat Florida 7-2 on Saturday night. Maine lost his previous two starts and hadn't won since May 4 against Arizona, when he allowed one run and six hits in six innings as the Mets won 5-3. It was his first appearance against the Diamondbacks.

Giants-Mets Preview The New York Mets were patient when Carlos Delgado struggled for nearly the first two months of the season, even when injuries mounted. That patience has been rewarded handsomely of late. Delgado and the Mets seek a fifth consecutive victory Wednesday when they continue their series with the San Francisco Giants at Shea Stadium. As recently as May 22, Delgado was batting just .209, and Mets manager Willie Randolph had moved the veteran first baseman out of his customary cleanup spot to as low as sixth in the batting order. The shuffle continued even as New York (33-17) lost starters Moises Alou and Jose Valentin to injuries. Yet the 34-year-old Delgado recently began to swing the bat better, and Randolph had enough confidence to return him to the No. 4 spot in the lineup. Delgado has responded with four homers in his last three games, including a game-winning solo shot in the bottom of the 12th inning of Tuesday's 5-4 victory. "He's smoking the ball," third baseman David Wright told the Mets' official Web site. "You don't hit 400-something homers just hitting a home run every now and then. His homers come in bunches." Delgado is 11-for-25 (.440) while hitting safely in his last six games, raising his batting average 30 points. His homer Tuesday gave the Mets their 15th come-from-behind victory -- tied with Arizona for most in the NL. "We're good at it," said Delgado, who is 4-for-17 with seven strikeouts against Giants scheduled starter Barry Zito. Delgado's heroics would not have been possible without Jose Reyes, who induced two balks by Giants closer Armando Benitez. The second one allowed Reyes to score the tying run while Delgado batted. "That's a tough one to lose," said Giants manager Bruce Bochy, who argued the first balk but not the second. Zito (4-5, 4.70 ERA) will now try to stop a four-game losing streak for the Giants (24-26) and win his second consecutive start. The left-hander limited the Houston Astros to one run and four hits in seven innings of a 9-1 victory last Wednesday, bouncing back from a poor outing against the Oakland Athletics -- his former team. Zito has lost three consecutive road starts, giving up 16 runs and walking 13 in 17 innings since a victory at Colorado. His lone start against the Mets was a victory on May 7. For the Mets, Tom Glavine (5-2, 3.39) will try again to pick up his 296th career victory. The veteran left-hander was outpitched by former teammate John Smoltz in a 2-1 defeat at Atlanta on Thursday, despite yielding only two runs in six innings. "It's tough to swallow, but you have to put it behind you," said Glavine, who has not lost back-to-back starts since Aug. 11 and 16. "When you pitch well and things don't go your way, it's hard to put it behind you." The 41-year-old Glavine turned in arguably his best effort of the season at San Francisco on May 8, limiting the Giants to one run in a season-high seven innings of New York's 4-1 victory. He is 20-15 with a 3.54 ERA in 43 lifetime starts against San Francisco. Giants left fielder Barry Bonds, who walked in a 10th-inning pinch-hit appearance Tuesday, is 27-for-82 (.329) with four homers lifetime against Glavine, including the 745th of his career on May 8. After using five relievers Tuesday, the Mets will get some added bullpen depth with the return of set-up man Guillermo Mota, who completed his 50-game suspension for using a performance-enhancing substance. Mota, who has been pitching at Triple-A New Orleans, forfeited nearly one-third of his $1.8 million salary for 2007.

Andruw Jones, however, does have a hit and an RBI off the right-hander in his three career plate appearances against him.
