  1. Actually, I said that no team has won more Superbowls (the Cowboys have 5 as well). Nice to see you can't read. OWNED! I may have to put you on "ignore" for this, Iceman. You would be my first...
  2. Randoff, let's get the Cowboys facts straight please: (1) Playoff win drought following 3 SUPERBOWLS in 4 years. First team to accomplish this. And No team has won more Superbowls so, in the big picture, hardly a drought. (2) Yes, Aikman's first year was a flop. But we'll take a Hall of Fame QB, with 3 rings, and 1 Superbowl MVP to his name over Eli anyday. In fact, he will end up with more Superbowl wins than ELI, his big brother, and his Daddy combined. GOSH, you can print that in 3 inch headlines! (3) Coaches with guns...THAT WIN SUPERBOWLS...and NOTHING ELSE MATTERS... (4) WR with Crack habits...THAT WINS 3 SUPERBOWLS...and will be elected to the HALL of FAME where his bust will be near a certain NY player's bust, with a little drug habit of his own...The difference...THE WR HAS 3 SUPERBOWL RINGS AND THE LB HAS 2...FROM A FAN'S PERSPECTIVE, DOES ANYTHING ELSE MATTER? (5) Actually, I believe it was an offensive guy, NATE NEWTON, with the trunk of weed. Interestingly enough, Nate also has 3 RINGS. Did you know that Randoff? *** CARE TO KEEP TALKING ABOUT SILLY PAST SH/T? *** (6) Tuna ALWAYS quits...It had nothing to do with DALLAS...Ironically, if the Cowboys win the Superbowl this year it will be, in part, BECAUSE Tuna quit... (7) I'll take TO on my team before Shockey anyday...So long as he lines every Sunday and catches TDs, I could care less what he does between Mon-Sat. Why do you care?
  3. We are starting to roll now... 6. Ten Most Dsyfunctional Offseasons, June 20, 2007 by Andrew Perloff (SI): Ranks the Giants at # 10. Lists includes the likes of the Dolphins, Titans, Chiefs, Packers...OUCH! This one has to hurt alittle.
  4. It doesn't hurt as much as you think after winning three Superbowls in four years... How does it feel not winning a Superbowl in 16 years? Were you even alive then? Did you watch that game live? Or did you just see the video of Norwood handing them the game and decide, at that moment, that you were a Giants fan?
  5. Dog, the answer to your question depends on perspective: From the perspective of the Giants front office: After getting raped on draft day by the CHargers, there is no time table for the QB, whatever his name may be, to prove his value. In the meantime, while this QB continues to flounder with marginal leagership skills, and no accurracy or consistency, you hope that you can appease the fans with lame excuses, maybe you blame the coach, or even lie to yourself until you actually believe it was a good move all in the hopes that this QB gets lucky one day, and wins a playoff game or two. Then, be it 5 years later or 12 years later, you may be able to look yourself in the mirror again... From the perspective of a Dallas Fan: Sit back, enjoy and hope the alleged QB never gets benched.
  6. Greetings Dog. Do you have any thoughts on Tom Coughlin calling this meeting? I seem to recall a smiliar meeting propelling Paule Crewe to a victory in the wake of Caretaker's death. However, I don't recall such a meeting having to be called in any other venue aside from the highschool venue... On a brighter note for Giants fans, I belive Big Blue is ready to compete at the highschool level provided Manning resolves his accurracy problems...In fact, perhaps a scrimage with the Scarlett Knights is in order...
  7. I particularly enjoyed your response to number 7. Wade Phillips has never won a playoff game. However, neither have the Giants since Coughlin took over. So I am quite certain that he was not "watching" the Giants for very long...Unless he caught that Superbowl game against the Ravens...
  8. Several issues concerning the Cowboys offseason: 1) Should they resign Romo to a long term deal the next several months before they win the Superbowl this season? I think that would make sense... 2) Should they re-work Ken Hamlin's deal now? They only signed him for 1 year and it will be more difficult to sign him after they win the Superbowl this season. 3) Should they resign Greg Ellis, trade him, or do nothing? He's a good guy and a good player and definetly deserves the ring that they will be getting in 12 months or so. But his moaning and whining is aggravating even the loyalist of fans...hmmm...moaning and whining...maybe he is a Giants fan in denial... 4) Are Patrick Crayton and Sam Hurd ready to step up should TO and Glenn become injured? In reality, the only thing that can derail this Superbowl season is injuries to this position. Badegg is uncomfortable with this situation and believes the Cowboys should have picked up another WR this offseason...But, then again, Jamal RIchardson and Isah Stanbeck are intriguing little projects... 5) Will the O-Line be good enough? It will not be the best in the league but it will be better than last season and that should be good enough. Afterall, take a look at the numbers the Cowboys offense put up last season. It was the defense that was the problem... 6) Will the defense improve? Ken Hamlin is an instant up grade in pass coverage. Under Wade Phillips system, they'll be more aggressive. They have the talent. It was misused last season by Tuna. Speaking of Tuna, 7) How will Jason Garrett do? Anything will be better than Tuna. It was not Romo's fault they lost in Seattle. They would have lost that game even if they converted the extra point. The ultra-conservative Tuna lost that game. Garrett has already said they will be more aggressive. They have the talent. So the offseason issue here is I hope Jerry is going to find away to retain Garrett after they win the Superbowl this year. Though I could see the Giants begging for him after they run that lame duck out of town in late Dec or early Jan...

  10. Prince Nas smells what Bad Egg is cooking...And I was also amused by the Romo cave man pic.
  11. 1) Fox Sports Power Rankings: The G-Men, I believe, are ranked 30. 2) Preseason QB Rankings at CNNSI (Eli is 22): A gift if you ask me. But I'm far from an expert. 3) CNNSI list/photos of the Least Fun Athlete to Watch: Of course, Eli makes this list. I am wrong again. I think it's great fun to watch his "Huck Finn" expression as the ball sails over the heads of his WRs. Another positive rating for Eli. My guess is this is just the beginning, but the list is starting to take shape... 5) Peter King June 18, 2007 MMQ: Ranks all QBs and Eli is ranked 23 and writes he'll need to be significantly more accurrate to save his career...Of course Romo is ranked 11. Interestingly, Losman, Rivers, Leinhart and Schaub all ahead of Eli...
  12. Make no mistake about, try as I may to bring a realistic perspective to my Giants frieds, I know that I accomplish very little. It's an impossible task and I should throw in the towel. Yet, I am drawn to this board every spring to witnesses the same, inevitable cycle form: April - August - Superbowl expectations Sept - Oct - Diminished Superbowl expectations, but the diehards still clinging to hope Nov - Dec - Grim reality creeps in, but a diminished number of diehards still clinging... Jan- March - Dissappointment and depression I could set my watch to this. There must be someone at an IVY league school somewhere studying and documenting this phenomenon...
  13. With key players and the team to "plea" with them to stop griping and start playing... Yup. Don't worry Giants fans...I have heard many high school coaches have had success with this as well...
  14. I don't recall being directed anywhere. I apologze if I missed your post. You see, I am extremely popular, much like Tony Romo, and often have difficulty responding to all those seeking my attention. Yes, being the voice of reason on this board is a tough job, but someone has to do it. :brooding:
  15. :worshippy: Badegg couldn't have said it better himself.
  16. I could be wrong, but I thought Burress, Shockey and Barber were all healthy in Tennessee. Hmmmm... Gosh, with all these injuries why are the writers so hard on poor Eli?
  17. So it was the "team" around Eli. The excuses people will make to justify this draft blunder mystifies me. As overrated as Plexico is, he is better than any WR Rivers has. And Shockey, the underachiever that he is, is still not a bad option. And although nobody can touch LT, Tiki wasn't a bad running back. The reason King thinks Culpepper could possibly start in 1 year for the Giants has nothing to do with Eli's supporting cast. -- It was the "team around Eli" that made him throw the ball to Pacman last year, causing the Giants to lose to the lowly Titans. -- It was the "team around ELI" that was responsible for his pedestrian passer rating last season. As if Phillip Rivers and J.P. Losman were throwing to Jerry Rice and Marvin Harrison all season...
  18. Well, it's not really a list. But let's put Peter King's June 11, 2007 Monday Morning QB comment at 4. 4) Peter King suggests that the Giants should sign Culpepper and that he should want to come to NY based, in part, on ELI being 50-50 as the future starting QB. Interestingly enough, King did not entertain San Diego or Dallas as possible destinations for Culpepper...
  19. Interesting. Romo, a media-hyped player with no talent, took the Cowboys as far in 1/2 a season as Eli has taken the Giants with several years of experience. Do you know what that says about the Giants? It says they'd better sign Culpper. And fast.
  20. Interesting. No one is suggesting that the Cowboys need Culpepper either... Maybe, next season the Cowboys will sign Eli as their holder and Coughlin as his personal tutor. Of course, they'll have to earn their jobs.
  21. NO ONE is writing that the Chargers should sign Culpper because Rivers is a 50-50 starter.
  22. In an effort to be a more productive member of the Sportswrath Community, I thought I'd create an official thread of all the unfair and bias lists that are published this preason by those ignorant, misinformed, shallow, uneducated, unenlightened, and uninformed writers and experts. This way we can all moan in one place. If this season is like any other, I expect this thread to get pretty long because we all know that these experts are never right when they pick against the Giants. 23. You hit the nail on the head! In recent offseasons I have considered and expected the Cowboys to finish in the bottom half of the division. Not this season. The thought of the Cowboys finishing behind the Redskins or the Giants has not come close to crossing my mind. Barring injuries, it is something I will not even entertain this season. The Eagles are a little tougher but, in the end, I don't see them stopping the Cowboys. And I'm not attempting to be argumentative or antagonostic. Just being honest. Barring injury, it's not even a consideration...
  24. If I had a dime for every football list that this board labeled "bullshit" because Giants players or the team itself wasn't ranked high enough I could retire. Rather than ranting about all of these lists, if I were a Giants fan, my thought process would be this: 1) We gave up three players for one (including a very good QB and one of the best LBs in football). 2) We got schooled in the first round, AT HOME, by a Panthers team that did not advance to the Super Bowl. 3) We lost again, in the first round, to an Eagles team that did not win another game in the playoffs and did not have their starting QB. HEY ELI, FOR ALL WE GAVE UP TO GET YOU, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY? That's what this list is really asking... Boy oh boy, if I had a dime...
