  1. Your analysis of the Dallas QBs is correct. Though Romo didn't single handedly lose anything, and his one mistake was as a holder and not as a QB. As a QB, he put them in position to kick that FG and played fairly well for his first playoff game. Had he thrown a pick in the endzone, I would have a problem. I'm not lying to myself by calling Eli mediocre. Many commentators, some cited in this very post agree. In fact, many Giants fans have seen enough. Your own fan base is divided. As far as that 3rd in scoring and 3rd in yards bullshi/t, the 2006 Cowboys offense was 5th in total yards, 4th in scoring, and 5th in passing. I don't care what the numbers are this season, but if they go to the playoffs and Romo performs like Eli did against the Panthers, I want him out. Regular season stats don't matter when you play that poorly at home in the playoffs. What was it? Three interceptions on three consecutive possessions, a lost fumble and no points...Give me a break. It's not like Eli didn't have talent around him. Shockey...Buress...Barber... So, I'll ask it again: Why are you guys satisified with mediocrity?
  2. BigBlue, as of this very moment, you have 15 posts today and account for 7.25% of today's total posts on this board. :yikes: You are the second most active poster behind Prince Nas. Who is trying to win poster of the year?
  3. You Giants fans and your low expectations. Winning 11 games, throwing 48 TDs in two years means nothing unless you win playoff games. Tony Romo deserves 1 year as the Dallas starter. But Romo needs to win playoff games this year, if given the opportunity. If the Cowboys play well enough to host someone like the Panthers in the first round of the playoffs and get shut out at home because Romo cannot throw an accurrate pass (sound familiar?), then I want Romo out. Immediately. Dallas fans do not have the patience for mediocre QBs. Why do you?
  4. That's an interesting response in light of the halftime stats, when it was still either team's game: Score 12 - 7 Giants. Eli: 16 att 6 competions 125 yards 1 TD 1 INT and a glowing 60.7 rating. :worshippy: Of those 6 completions and 125 yards, 50 came on a jump ball to Burress when Williams was out of position. Defend Manning. I dare you! Not bad at all...
  5. Didn't look bad at all? More low expectations in NY: Manning: 26 att 12 completions 189 yards 2 TDs 1 Int and a 80.4 rating So he completes less than 50% against a mediocre defense, for less than 200 yards, and 1 50 yard TD that is basically a jump ball to Burress that is caught because Williams is out of position. Granted 80.4 is above his weak 77 rating for the year, but there were 17 other QBs, including Romo, that finished hire than that. Did you really give the Chargers 3 players including Phillip Rivers for this performance? Did he really not "look that bad at all"? Have you ever seen Payton Manning play? The bar was once so high in NY when Tuna coached...So sad...
  6. Just out of curiosity Bigblue, which word that the dog typed do you need a dictionary for? ANd why did you post twice?
  7. I love it. The Yankees begging for scraps from the Angels' table. :worshippy: Go ahead, take Hillenbrand and run along children... With or without Hillenbrand, we'll still bring the broom back to NY in a couple of weeks, as it worked so well the first trip...
  8. HA HA HA...I'll bet you are sitting there in your little Plaxico jersey just praying the Cowboys start Baker, Bartel, Johnosn, or Moore that first game of the season... I doubt it would make a difference. The Cowboys best weapon that night will be ELi. As long as ELi is healthy and starting, the Cowboys will be 1-0.
  9. Based on Romo's performance last season I think the Cowboys must resign him immediatetly. I wish they didn't have to and could observe one more year. But they really have no choice. People have this misconception that they won all of those games in the middle of the season because of Romo and went 1-3 because of Romo. The defense played well in most of those wins. Most, if not all of there losses, resulted from defensive breakdowns. Romo made poor decisions, but he did not single handledly loose any of those games. Also, had TO caught the perfect strike from Romo against Washinton they would have won that game as well. So that is another loss that was not Tony Romo's fault. As far as Quinn goes, if he was really a top 5 pick, Cleveland would not have risked losing him and Miami would have taken him. At this stage of the game, I will take Romo, who has already proven he can win in this league and lead a team to the playoffs, over Brady Quinn who has not proven anything. And, by the way, Jone's move was brilliant. They get a good pass rusher and with 2 number one picks next season, they will get their QB is Romo does not pan out. In fact, maybe they will even give Eli a second change as he could be unemployed next Jan. After the Manning debacle, the Giants could learn something from Jone's draft.
  10. The "fact" I am posting goes to the point of this thread -- another negative list regarding the Giants or one of their players...In other words, the existance of this artice by KC Joyner is a "fact" not an opinion. :yikes: Must I explain everything to you? Please, email me if you have any additional questions. I don't want any more of this excess commentary in my very serious post. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
  11. Hmmm...you're talking to me...And I don't talk trash...I post facts...
  12. While we are on the subject, the guy who got all the press for dropping passes last season, including what would have been a 70 yard TD in Washinton, was TO. Interestingly, this had a negative impact on Romo's stats, not Peyton's baby brother's stats. So, if we want to analyze dropped passes, I am quite certain that Romo would put even more distance between himself and Peyton's baby brother...
  13. 7. KC Joyner/ESPN Insider List of Overrated TE: Of course, Shockey makes this list. Ranked 23 in yards per attempt...I'm quite certain that other Giants made Mr. Joyner's list, but I am not a member and cannot access these articles. It would be greatly appreciated if other board members with access post the numerous other Giants that most likely made this list... To summarize, we have Eli making an appearance on several bad lists, the Giants team on a couple of lists for being average and for having a dsyfunctional offseason, and now the so-called pro bowl TE...And it's only June...
  14. So three playoff wins and 1 Superbowl loss over a span of nearly 16 years is not a drought? You New York fans set your standards so low...
  15. Let me help you out with your research: I could be wrong but, in the last 10 years, the Giants have won 2 playoff games and no championships. So, while the Cowboys drought since winning 3 Superbowls in 4 years, the last being 1996, has produced 0 playoff wins, the Giants drought has included 2 playoff wins since 1996 and 0 Superbowls...since 91. If you want to go back a little further, the Giants did win a playoff game against the Vikings in 94, only to lose a close battle with the 49ers the next week to the tune of 44-3. I don't think I would want to trade places... But, while we're on the subject, as boring as the Panthers owning Eli in 2005 was, the 1997 loss to the Vikings in the Meadowlands was an exciting game, as was the 2003 loss to the 49ers. Care to break these down with me? In summary though, if my research is correct, the Giants have one 3 playoff games since 1991, and the Cowboys have won 3 Superbowls...
  16. What is Jacobs going to do that Tiki didn't do? The fact of the matter is that no one can help him if he insists on playing catch with defenses such as the Titans at the most critical junctures of games...
  17. You still haven't completed your little research project? By all means, let me know when you have.
  18. They got a "used and abused" yet "elite" AFC team in an AFC that was weak. But the Giants only beat the "used and abused" yet "elite" AFC team in the "weak" AFC by 1 point on a missed field goal... Well...anyway...How many years do you give a QB?
  19. I'm going to hate myself later for giving this anytime at all but, nonetheless, I feel compelled to respond. Why you choose to focus soley on (1) and (7) is interesting. However, regarding (1), if you are going to bring up some drought, you might as well put it in context. I'm willing to bet that 90% of the fans in the league would glady "suffer" a 10 year "drought", if you told them their team would win 3 Superbowls right before that so-called "draught." What's even more amusing, is that you bring up this drought. It's not like the Giants have won countless playoff games these past 10 years. In fact, have they won any besides the year the Ravens abused them? I'm too busy to look it up. Run along and research it and let me know what you find... Regarding (2), really why would I care what TO does Mon-Fri so long as he helps the team win on Sunday. For that matter, why would I care what any of the Cowboys players do during the week so long as they come prepared to play on Sunday? And who is crying? If you look at this thread carefully, I am simply responding to your incomplete and inaccurrate statements...It's a tough job, but someone has to do it...
  20. I guess you're right. It's was a low blow to call the Giants lucky. But had the Giants finished off the Bills to the tune of 52-17 or 30-13 their really would be no need to analyze that fieldgoal attempt which, incidently, happened to be long enough... No matter how you look at it, the word "choke" still comes to mind.
  21. :baby: OWNED! Is that the best you can do, Ice? If so, bye-bye... :bye:
