  1. Yes, a trip to Cleveland's home opener with BigBlue. Enjoy your weekend!
  2. Listen up, Big Blue...For the 100 time, I am not sold on Romo...I will give him this year...He earned that by taking a team left for dead to the playoffs...But the hold on the snap is simple irrelevant at this point in time because HE IS NO LONGER THE HOLDER...
  3. Big Blue, how can you continue with this argument? Really, you are claiming that LT was the ONLY player in history that teams "flat out" focused on...This is crazy...Teams focused on Deon Sanders, Barry Sanders, to name a few... Who in Cleveland did teams "flat out" focus on, back in the day, besides Jim Brown? How many sucky Bears teams did Walter Payton play on? Not ONE, defensive coordinator believed that, well, if they stopped Walter they stopped the Bears?
  4. Interesting, Big Blue. You have interviewed all of these coordinators or present with them when they were devising game plans. And what other players, besides LT, do you know? Yes, at time Lt was the only player they worried about when playing the Giants. That's because the other 20 stunk...
  5. I will not defend Dallas for giving Carter that much time, nor will I defend them for giving Romo any more than this year, if he suffers from the same shortcomings as Eli... Manning may not be as bad as Brown, few players are. But he shouldn't be mentioned in the same post as Elway.
  6. His name still isn't Manning and I am quite certain he cost less...By the way, thanks for reminding me that they wasted a number 1 pick on Brown... High expectations...in NJ maybe...the rest of the league wasn't so naive...Dave Brown...first round... Please, let's discuss it more!
  7. Oh boy, Big Blue. Offensive coordinators and Qbs didn't realize it when they played against a team with Deon Sanders at CB...It was pure coincedence that they wouldn't throw to his side of the field. And, NO ONE, attempted to devise a game plan to stop Joe Montana (legondary 49ers QB) and Barry Sanders (played for Detriot)...Yup, LT was the only one... :brooding:
  8. Interesting that you labled Romo's other games "trash." That would mean that the Cowboys, with trash at QB, ended the Colt's undefeated streak and beat the Giants in NJ. Interesting, how the Giants couldn't prevent the trash from throwing a perfect strike to Witten to set up the game winning field goal... As far as Manning's first playoff appearance, he threw interceptions on three consecutive second half possessions and lost a fumble...Had Romo played as well as Manning, the Cowboys would have been down by 20 and would not have been kicking a FG with 1 minute left... Besides, I would rather see my QB muff a hold on a FG, then play like Manning did. The Cowboy's solution is simple: Get another holder. The Giant's problem cannot be fixed so easily, unless of course, the new NFL commissioner makes the Chargers return the players they stole...You never know, he is tough on crime...
  9. Interesting logic, bub. You'd be more patient if, for example, his last name was Smith and he cost a little less... And that philosophy worked real well with Dave Brown... It's the opposite here, bub. The Giants are being held hostage by the "Manning" name and a draft day blunder. If his last name was Smith, and he costs less, the Giants, if they were smart, wouldn't waste another minute. Eli would probably be in Pittsburgh, Arizona, or San Diego holding a clip board...
  10. If Eli's last name wasn't Manning, and if the Chargers had not robbed you guys on draft day, you would want Eli gone today...In fact, he probably would've been gone already... :bye:
  11. Good to see you, Nemisis. But you're jumping in late and missing the point on this thread. This is my bad list thread, but it has turned into an Eli thread because, as you can see, Eli keeps appearing on the bad lists. I am not a blind pumper of Romo, like many Giants fans are with Eli. I believe Romo played well enough to be the starter this year. I also believe that the Cowboys have put themselves in a position where they may have to extend his contract before this season. But, if Romo's play at QB costs them a playoff birth this season, or a playoff game this season, I want him out.
  12. Me thinks you need to take a long look at your posts. Me thinks you may be agreeing with the Dog, or arguing against yourself. Regardless, you are one of a kind, BigBlue. :worshippy:
  13. I list these articles and let the Giants fan make of them what they wish. What I find humerous is that almost every season, the Giants fans complain about negative pres season articles. Yet, these articles are typically proved to be accurate by the end of the season. While I do not believe that these articles prove anything right now , I do find it interesting that so far, this season, many of the so-called experts appear to unimpressed with the 2007 Giants. Likewise, I am unimpressed. They are also putting Eli under a microscope.
  14. You make a good point about the way the trade occurred and your Cardinal's analogy is very accurrate. What would trouble me, if I were a Giants fan, is some of the accurracy problems he has had, especially given the talent ( at skill positions) that has surrounded him. Protection has been a problem but he also misses more than he should when he has time. Eli also strikes me as someone who would play better on a team that is not under intense scrutiny ( as all NY teams are) and with players that are more low key (which Shockey and Burress are not). I don't put much stock in the experts, including King. But I will add to list and see what happens next.
  15. I don't disagree with much of what you say. The point of this thread was not to get into an Eli debate. I am just listing Bad Lists for Giants fans, since most of you feel persecuted by the media every summer. Eli just happens to be on these list and I have been responding to those that go to absurd lengths to defend him. You seem to be more realistic...
  16. Let's see, Randolf. You either don't read or can't read... I never used the term "announcer" which you have capatalized above, I'm assuming in an attempt to make some type of point. I used the term sports "commentator." It's silly that I have to waste time doing this, but in an attempt to have a meaningful discussion, Webster's dictionary defines the word commentator as " a person who provides a commentary on an event" or "the writer of a commentary" or "a person who writes or speaks on current events." Hence, a sports commentator writes and speaks on sporting events or sports issues. Are you with me? Good. Now for the important part: People who write for the NFL website, ESPN, and CNNSI, qualify as sports commentators. In this post, I have listed the things that these sports commentators are saying about Eli THIS YEAR. In two separate lists, Eli is ranked 22 and 23 among NFL QBs. When your QB is ranked this low, the sports commentators are really saying that he is MEDIOCRE. In another article, Peter King (Sports commentator) says it is 50-50% that Eli is the future Giants QB and that the Giants should sign Culpepper. He is saying that Eli's performance, thus far, is MEDIOCRE. Finally, Eli made a list of the LEAST fun athletes to watch, in part, because of his accurracy problems. I don't think I need to explain this one...But, if you appear on this list, you are MEDIOCRE... Interestingly, no one is suggesting that Culpepper could compete for the Cowboys's starting job and Romo is ranked above Eli in most of these articles. What the sports commentators are saying, so far, THIS YEAR, is that Eli's time to prove himself is rapidly running out. Everyone was on Eli's bandwagon last preseason, including Aikman. But this was, of course, before Eli stunk up the joint another season... Boy, the Chargers look smarter and smarter every day...
  17. My posts are not inconsistent. I never said that it was acceptable for Romo to throw the ball to Dawkins. Where did I say that? That is unacceptable. I am not going to defend it. Romo played well enough last season to get an opportunity to start this season. If he is as inaccurate this season as Eli is, or if he plays as poorly as a QB in a playoff game as Eli has, I want Romo out at the end of this season. Period. I am not going to defend Romo if he plays poorly. I don't have to. Remember, the Cowboys didn't sell the farm to San Diego to get him... (Someone explain this last part to Big Blue) Thanks...
  18. The article was referring to their living relatives: John Mara and Jonathan Tisch... You're scaring me BigBlue...
  19. Keeping with the point of this thread. 8. SI.COM - Ranking the NFL Owners, July 2, 2007: Jerry Jones is in second behind Kraft. Interestingly, the next NFC East representation is Snyder at 5 and Laurie at 6. The Giants combo of Mara/Tish is floundering back at 14...
  20. What is it that you are trying to ask me? I am more than willing to answer any coherent question you have. But you are just wasting message board space at this time... What-is-confusing-you???
  21. Are you telling me that if Peyton Manning is forced to hold on a FG next year, and he botches the hold, he sould be cut? You would like that. Maybe then the Giants could hire the correct Manning... Me thinks you should assess your one idea of a successful QB. Because, your partner was implying that Romo should be "out" for botching the hold. That is the point of this discussion. Me thinks you need to read before posting... Like you say, a screw up is a screw up. But Tony Romo, a QB, should not be cut because he botched a hold. Like a man, he took responsibility for the screw up and did not make excuses. That is, and should be, the end of the story. The same can't be said for a QB with accuracy problems and questionable leadership skills...especially when his team sold the farm (an expression, not the "real" farm) for him...hmmmmmm...
  22. Exposed? That's a word that should be used to describe the Yankees...
  23. HA HA HA HA... First, Troy Aikman is not the ONLY sports commentator (even if you write his name in Green)...Second, how desperate are you to dig up an Aikman quote that is NEARLY ONE YEAR OLD...HA HA HA HA...READ WHAT THEY ARE SAYING ABOUT ELI THIS YEAR...HA HA HA...
  24. There are thousands of reasons the Cowboys lost to the Seahawks and they would have still lost had they converted the PAT. No, I don't want Romo out if he botches the hold. Yes, I want Romo out if he throws the ball to Pacman Jones with the game on the line. Yes, I want Romo out if he throws 3 consecutive INTs in a home playoff game...
