  1. You shouldn't expect so much so soon from a rookie & an undrafted FA in his second season, with experience at least one of them will become a competant CB. I personally think that Webster will be a fine NFL CB, he just needs another training camp under his belt.

That's great but is he a saftey, nope... he's a CB, his first job is to cover. Cover skills were something that he never displayed prominantly enough to keep his job here, not to mention the hands of stone that we all know too well.

Probably not any better but hardly worse, the CB opposite Peterson was a question mark going into last season as well after Allen's poor play & the draft acqusition of Corey Webster.

I really can't see going back into this season with the Wills as our starters, we have already seen what we have in Allen & Peterson. One can't cover & the other hasn't played a put together 16 healthy starts in two seasons, that's a bigger liability in my eyes over a veteran (albeit aged but healthy) & a second year CB who seems to have plenty of promise.

Besides, who knows.... given how little interest Allen has recieved in the FA market he could return if he lowers his asking price & agrees to compete for his job (I personally doubt this will happen but, who knows anything is possible.)

Well put, on all of em. :TU:

  2. the only thing's both DeLoatch and Webster proved last season, is there ability to be out of place and not aggressive enough to tackle...

at the very least Will Allen was a sure tackler and very solid in the box...

we are in no better shape at CB as i stated than last year...the only thing we have now, its a CB with experience, but on the decline of his career and a big question mark on the other side...

tell me how that is better than having Will Peterson and Will Allen penciled in as starters ??

    OK, I will.

Madison, decline or not, is BETTER than Will. Will, when having the opportunity, was a decent tackler. But he got burned so much that opprtunity didnt come often. I'd rather have someone that doesnt get burned.

As far as having Will Pete on the other side, well, I love Will Pete. When he plays, he does fine. But he's injured all the time. Deloatch and Webster would have to be better, because they can actually play. Webster's young, but will get better. Deloatch did decent, I like what I saw.

  3. i think the tandem of Will Allen and Will Peterson is a tad more fortifying than Corey Webster and his father Sam Madison

To you maybe. But Will Pete/ Sam Madison is better than the Will's. And I'd take Madison/ Deloatch or Webster any day. Thats about equiv. to the Will's. Considering Allen is decent at best, and Pete is injury prone.

  4. I fear your assessment is correct. And when you consider how awful the secondary was last year. . .shudder. . .

    WRONG.

Anything would be an upgrade over last year. W. Allen was decent, but inconsistent. Will Pete is great, but injury prone. Madison will be an upgrade over either, and if Pete plays and is opposite Madison, thats betyter than last season. Plus, w/ Demps and Gibril at Safety, it makes our overall sec. better.

  5. I'm hearing that the Giants are targetting OLB's such as Chad Greenway (Iowa), Demeco Ryans (Ala.), Bobby Carpenter (OSU) and Thomas Howard (UTEP). They would love for a WR such as Chad Jackson or Santonio Holmes to fall to them, but it's unlikely.

I would love to get Carpenter.

  6. wow!!!

Please tell me how can I be as cool as you?

Not too many fans know who Andy Headen is, that was very impresive.

    Your one great fan!

    :worshippy:

What about Tuffy Leemans? You know who he is?? Spider Lockhart? Please tell me you know Joe Pisarcek, quite possibly the worst QB we had, outyside of Dave Brown.

    See, I gots some knowledge.

  7. Though the Giants offense struggled from the midpoint of season on, the defense dominated every game.

The defense, 1st in the league, gave up an average of 8 points per game.

Offense averaged 17 points per game.

Barely beating Atlanta in a very tough NFC championship game in which the offense played poorly, Manning and company did get the win by driving 70 yards in the last 1 minute 30 seconds, most of which came on the ground attack. A last second field goal ended the game 14 to 13. Giants scoring on a safety, a touchdown with missed xtra point, and 2 field goals. Tiki Barber was the workhors of the game, gaining over 140 yards.

In the Super Bowl, The Giants crushed the Patriots in a game in which Manning scored 6 touchdowns. Two TD passes and 4 rushing TDs by QB sneak.

This was the Giants highest scoring game of the season, and Mannings best performance against what was thought going in was to be a close game. The Patriots managed only 1 score which came on a 70 yard TD pass in which they caught the Giants on an all out blitz.

Wouldn't this be a great way for next season to end?

I still can't get over the fact that I can play great defense, but marginal or bad offensively on Madden at the All-Pro level.

I would love it, but WAY unrealistic............

....Atlanta will never make it that far. :TU:

  8. Why are you on a Cardinal's message board. I mean I can see you going on a division rival, but the cards just suck!!!

I live in AZ, I was just goin there to talk about the Edge signing. They usually are ridiculous over there, so I go for fun sometimes.

  9.

They are ridiculous over there. Some things they say. TGhey think I should be ashamed to be a Yankee fan because the DBacks beat us one year....ONE YEAR!

I kept postin this pic w/ every post, it really annoyed them!

  10. Both teams were better on one side of the ball than the other. But our D was getting MUCH better B4 the injuries, and I think if healthy, that and our Sp. teams(who were one of the best in the league) would have made the difference. Remember when we didnt allow an Offensive TD in like 4 games? That was when they were gettin real good.

  11. I think it's a fair question, considering that a lot of Yankee fans are not from NY. Naturally, this happens when the club wins multiple Championships and people love a winner. Call it human nature

Then why dont people ask if Cowgirl fans are from Dallas?

I guess my hate comes from AZ fans, they are the most clueless, they try to act like they have history like New Yorkers, but they are merely bandwagoners.
