  1. you don't say. imagine the coincidence of me saying that to him in that case. if only there were an indicator of some sort informing posters' that he is, in fact, a moderator.
  2. give it a while. it took a month to become 'active' maybe it takes a month to go inactive.
  3. puff out that chest and make it sound like your team did something last year. 6-10 or 10-6. we were in the same boat at year's end, were we not?
  4. how did it come off when storm said it? or when tyree said it was 'angels or god'? the fact is, i wanted the gints to win. i cannot stand the smugness of the 2007 pats, and the only team i want to go undefeated is mine. i read another good name for the tyree play. the giant snatch, it fits perfectly: no one wants a giant snatch, but when it's near closing time, you take what you can get.
  5. jim, no offense, but can we all get the crib notes next time? about the fluke, refer to my post to fish above, and the rest of the 13 or so pages of debate. your points have been shared by your counterparts, and already commented on. first, kitna is a good qb. he's no chump. he could start on half the teams in the league. not to mention he benefitted from better play from his teammates than romo had. second, bennett isn't calling for him to start. he's saying there should be competition at the position. third, he also says 'romo is awesome' fourth, romo was clearly not the problem in the implosion. i agree with bennett btw. why should any player feel like they've solidified their position before the season has started. competition brings better play from everyone. maybe elisha would show some improvement if he had a little competition in tc. or a real qb coach for that matter. we've discussed in another thread what kind of qb is required to win the big game. as it turns out it's not 'championship caliber' more important is defense, good coaching, and taking care of the football. granted, our defense was horrible last year. i'll chalk that up to wade and the team implosion. a team doesn't just drop from 2nd ranked defense to 31st in a year, when the core players are the same. wade lost the team in the offseason, imo. with wade our defense gave up 209 points in our first six losses. without wade we gave 184 pts in the final 8 games vs much better teams. your safeties did most of the te work. that's specifically because you don't have a decent mlb. that's also the reason you play a lot of 4-2-5. that's also the reason peyton manning and aaron rodgers tore you a new ass. fewell's schemes are not good. they're dated and do not work against the better qb's. wether or not he's a good coach is debateable. greg jones huh? good luck with that. the 'recent seasons' we've had are two playoff qualifiers in 4 years. same as the gints. any fan who doesn't talk up his team in preseason, does not believe in said team. period. please, summarize your next posts
  6. when life gives you lemons...... i'm not surprised you guys don't like this thread. it's very telling of how good the gints actually were.
  7. it's perry's defense. the players are the one's who have to 'get used to it' his problem is he lacks the personnel. drafting amukamara will help (if he's as good as advertised). but in this scheme a middle lb who can drop into coverage is essential. boley's ok, but not a fit here. gints beat the teams they were supposed to beat, and failed (in giant fashion) vs heavier competition. is that really something that deserves kudos from the fans?
  8. interesting. i just posted how you were outscored by more than 100 pts in 6 games, and you choose to focus on the 12 year thing. 12 years in the league is not a long time relatively speaking for a coach to be in the nfl. your defense was horrible against good competition. i put the blame mostly on fewell. youre focusing on the fact that you missed the playoffs by one game. i'm focusing on the fact you only beat one good team last year. and no, it wasn't the cowboys. you wouldn't have beaten the bears had you faced them later in the season. your counterparts are focusing on the 'broad stats' not myself. i'm looking purely at win-loss and scoring defense. is there a better way to judge a defense? there is a pattern to games in which fewell successfully gameplanned matt moore cutler (with poor oline play and a new offense) drew stanton charlie whitehurst garrard mcnabb schaub tarvaris jackson rex grossman yea some of these guys are better than other, but none of them are among the best in the league. how did fewell do vs the better qb's? manning, brees, brady, rodgers, among others can just sit back and pick your defense apart. who do you think you're gonna face in the playoffs if you get that extra win?
  9. i'm sorry buddy, you're wrong. i def think that play was a fluke.
  10. ofcourse, the game was in hand. you think seahawk fans didn't feel lucky on that play?
  11. can we just stop with all the comparison plays? is this a fluke, is that a fluke? we're talking about one play, and 50 other plays have been thrown at me as examples. the inherent problem here is it's all a matter of opinion. there is no litmus test for what is and what is not a fluke. my opinion is a popular one. google 'tyree catch fluke', and you'll get 295,000 hits. your opinion is not as popular, as it's mainly held by giants fans. i'm sure you think i'm being biased as a boyz fan, but then again your all biased as gint fans as well. coincidentally, my opinion is the same as the two players involved. harrison "Not in a million years does he makes that catch again." tyree "There's no reasonable explanation," Tyree said. "God? Angels? I'm just happy to be a part of history." btw neither here nor there, but have you heard tyree say he'd trade the catch to stop gay marriage?
  12. ofcourse its a contradiction. you said it can't be done, and it has been done. more than once.
  13. the lowly, romo-less, 6-10 cowboys beat more teams with winning records than the 10-6 gints.
  14. haha so did i. not sure why now.
  15. yea i've noticed. he's a good poster.
  16. broyles i'm sure will go in rnd 1 or 2 but i'm not high on wr's from ou. they're usually lacking in a pro offense. the only one i can think of that's had recent success is clayton for the rams, and it took him a while to get up to speed.
  17. haha i guess this settles it. why not start another one about your neil o'donnell theory?
  18. i don't know if he left or what. i just noticed his name has been changed, and it says 'bye' in his signature. and i haven't seen him since the bigblue incident.
  19. you skipped a decade there. you had a 17 year drought yourself didn't you? how sweet was that?
  20. Lloyd's play is not comparable to the double miracle. It's just not. We both know that. I'm glad you feel that way about, considering it's your team and all. but many feel just the opposite, including some who have a deep appreciation for the game. thinking it's a fluke, doesn't mean you can't believe it's a great play. the nfl is riddled with fluke plays. they happen all the time, and calling them what they are diminishes nothing. i've seen romo fumble a snap, then it bounced back up into his hands, and he threw for a completion. it's a fluke. does it mean romo's not a good qb or that that play was not enjoyed by all? no. does it mean i lost appreciation for football because i recognize it as a fluke? hell no.
  21. aikman's a classy guy and wouldn't call it that even if he was thinking it and miming it to joe. yes great catch and a fluke play.
  22. haha, yeah i guess 15 years is a long time at your age. at my age it's a flash. but it's not like i'm not ready for another sb title. 1 year or 15 is too long to wait. but the longer you wait, the sweeter the victory right?
