  1. Excellent point. However, for argument's sake....what about trading up for A.J. Hawk?
  2. Jurevicius would've been a nice pickup. But we'll draft a receiver out of Joe's University in the middle of nowhere because he runs a 4.2. He won't be able to catch a cold and he won't have any field skills, but damn....he'll impress everybody in practice for 4 years while we pay him in anticipation that he'll actually learn the game of football. Sound familiar throughout the years?
  3. I don't think Arrington is the malcontent that many do...I have a feeling that much of it was due to Snyder but Arrington is no choir boy either. I'd prefer Peterson because I think he would fit our scheme better and wouldn't cost us nearly as much. What Arrington has over Peterson in rushing the passer and against the run, Peterson makes up in pass coverage (something we've been pretty horrible at, at the WIL).
  4. We have enough talent on offense to succumb to bringing in a Keyshawn Johnson. There are MUCH smarter ways to spend our money.
  5. That's only when he knows where the ball is! LOL That's about 30% of the time. The other times he's looking in one direction while the receiver is grabbing the ball directly over his head. Unfortunately there's no cunning in Will Allen. There's no instinct. There's no field presence. No ball skills. So, so frustrating. Would have been much different if we had selected Smoot with that pick, as I wanted to. But I digress.
  6. I also agree to bring him back at the right price. That said, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him at the nickel by mid season. The guy can cover receivers with the best of them. Then the ball is put in the air and he becomes one of the worst CBs in the league. One of the worst instinctive players at that position that I've ever seen at this level. That's a strong statement, but I honestly haven't seen a guy have more problems playing the ball in my life. It's atrocious.
  7. Decent signing. I like him as a return man...yes Morton is more sure handed, but I'm over Morton. He's nothing but average, that's why he bounces around every year. RW is a good guy to bring in and compete for a job. Push everybody. I don't see him winning a starting spot if Will Pete gets back, but if nothing else he adds some nice depth back there.
  8. What do you guys think of Ryan Pickett? He was in for a visit.
  9. Part of being a successful player is staying on the field. He has showed flashes. Of course most of us understand that he played well last year, but 10 games of 3 years does not make a player.
  10. Ryan Pickett? He visited this weekend along with Bernard and others as most know.
  11. How would I know how you feel about Ty Law? 1. I don't give a shit 2. I don't even know who you are. Good point though.
  12. Are we talking about his career, or last year? I was talking about his career. I don't have much doubt that if he played all out--all of the time and actually stayed on the field....he'd probably turn into a pretty good DT. You, nor I, nor anybody has seen that as of yet. We've seen flashes. You can see flashes in any NFL player.
  13. No need to be an asshole, it was just a question.
  14. I told you I wasn't claiming this was the end all reason. I'm trying to inject some football common sense into the conversation, but it's obvious you're not hearing things that don't jive 100% with the way you think. You're probably another guy who bases his opinions on CBs soley by their INT total.
  15. Are you using that stat as an argument for him, or against him?
  16. If a corner has less opportunities for INT's, chances are....he'll have less INT's. Why that is such a difficult concept to grasp is beyond me. I'm not saying it's THEE reason, but I feel what is ridiculous is to dismiss that very basic concept of football. For the first time in 8 years, Patrick Surtain wasn't playing the opposite side of the field. Are you to tell me that as an Offensive Coordinator, you don't know that?? And since you know that, aren't you going to make a concerted effort to throw to the other side of the field? Isn't that just football common sense? Isn't it also common sense that if you have less footballs thrown to your side of the field, that very well might effect your INT total? Maybe it's me.
  17. For a #1 draft pick he's a disappointment at best. Right now he's a good rotation guy and a pretty decent DT. Again....very disappointing for a 1st rounder. We need to address the position through the draft, but will now have to look in FA as well to replace Clancy.
  18. If you guys knew your football like you tend to think you do, you would know that OC's go into games at times with specific plans to throw at guys (corners) and/or specifically not to throw at guys, taking advantage of matchups. If you also did your homework you'd realize that last year Madison was their best corner, you would assume he wasn't thrown at as much as some corners. Some simple knowledge about the game of football, not rocket science.
  19. The BIG difference in the picks fellas is that Will Allen was thrown at all the time, even more so when Will Peterson was healthy throughout their careers. If you were a QB or an O-Coord, wouldn't you? Now especially last year, nobody through Madison's way.
  20. Yay. Vastly improves our team.
  21. I'll be watching the game today. I might miss the first inning or two, but I'll watch it when I get home.
