  1. My problem is that there hasn't been a single time all year, not one, where I said, "what an amazing play by Daniel Jones." Not one. I understand the deficiencies on the team but the guy hasn't had one standout play? He had a good one in the Eagles game avoiding the sack and making a throw but we lost that game... and that was what, eight weeks ago? I think you have to give him one more year with actual NFL weapons but I can't really say I'm encouraged by his play. He doesn't seem like a guy that makes things happen on his own, and all the great ones do that. He HAS devolved into some bad decision making this year (locking onto receivers, patting the ball before throws, etc). His arm has also looked incredibly weak throwing to the flats, but not sure if this is his injury or not.
  2. I want us to beat Dallas, but miss the playoffs. I think these last three weeks have demonstrated just how far behind these playoff teams we are. We haven't been remotely competitive in those games and I don't see any reason to drop a dozen draft spots so that we can lose 6-31 to some playoff team.
  3. Unless it was a Judge decision.
  4. Yeah like I said on the other thread, I'm on the fence about Getty but this is the third week in a row where the team hasn't looked even a little competitive. I'm leaning towards "fire him" again after this stinker... I turned it off after the three consecutive sack drive. I think the Seattle game was their abberation, not our improvement. We haven't turned the corner at all.
  5. Jones doesn't have the arm strength.
  6. Gallman: (runs for 8) Gallman (catches a 16 yard pass) Garrett: STOP USING THAT GUY!
  7. I'll bet the over. I'm thinking 9.
  8. Whelp that's the end of that drive.
  9. Good. Take the points. 10-17 isn't terrible if we can score after the half tooml.
  10. Is it just me or are Jones' passes to the right flat just kind of sailing? Seems like there's no zip there.
  11. Wtf is Alfred Morris doing in the game anyway?
  12. I thought Vernon was really good, but he only gave you 7 games a season.
  13. I'm also starting to think Garrett has to go. "Gallman runs for eight.. quick, put in Dion Lewis" is shitty personnel management.
  14. Might be one of those games I shut off at halftime. This offense is pathetically bad.
  15. I go back and forth on Getty. On one hand, the record has been terrible, and there's no getting away from that. This just is not an acceptable number of wins in the past three seasons. Additionally, he's had some terrible signings. Omameh and Solder were both bad, as was the Panthers' RB. Pat Shurmur was a bad head coach, and most could see that from a mile away. However, I think we should also note what he came into, and what the expectations of the franchise were at the time. We keep saying "he's in year three of the rebuild" but I think the Maras asked him to put what he could around Eli in those first two years to have "one last push." So he did what he could... got an overpriced LT that isn't very good but is a lot better than Flowers, and signed a stopgap RB and Guard. They were the best he could do on short notice... in that light, we're really in year one of the rebuild. When Odell started acting like an asshole, he made the best he could of the situation. Honestly, I think we won that trade. Odell carries a 12 million dead cap hit this upcoming year by himself, and Vernon would have been an 11 million hit if they had cut him this year. They're just not very good players anymore. Of the contacts you listed, we're only "stuck" with Solder. Cutting Zeitler and Tate frees up about 16 million of cap space with about a six million hit this year. That's not horrible. He's done some pretty good things too. We have a pretty good roster defensively; Williams, Lawrence, Martinez, Bradbury, Peppers, and Ryan are all playmakers Getty went out and got, which is a lot more than he was left with. Gates looks to be a very good center, and Thomas/Limeaux look to be at least serviceable, I'd argue good. Shurmur was a bad hire, but who was the good hire that year? Frank Reich was demonstrably better but the Bills literally backed into that one; Patricia, Wilks, etc. were are all at least as bad. Matt Nagy seems pretty decent but he also had a lot more to work with on that roster. I think Vrabel was a lot better. I love the Judge hire. I don't know what to think yet about Daniel Jones. Also this WR corps is pretty terrible (though maybe that's Garrett; they all got open last year). So yeah, I go back and forth. I've read that Judge wants more say in personnel decisions and since all his coaching hires have more or less worked out, and the "organization" hire (Garrett) seems to be the weak link so far, I think he might get that. That could mean Getty goes. I think at the end of the day though I'd give him one more year; they look to at least be headed in the right direction.
  16. A lot of people were mocking Gary to us to and I wanted absolutely no part of that.
  17. Good. He's been a great person and flat-out baller this year.
  18. I keep seeing this guy mocked to us but his highlights really don't impress. Every sack is "QB holds onto the ball for six seconds and he gets the sack." Of course, I'm not sure the guys doing these mocks really know what they're talking about either... I saw one mock had us taking an OT because Nate Solder "quit on the team."
  19. Yeah man... nobody gets blown up like him for sure. Honestly, this has to be some sort of joke... like 4chan bots somehow infiltrated the system and got Engram into the Pro Bowl. He's terrible.
  20. If it was just that I could understand it, and about 2/3rds of the time it is that. The other 1/3 is just Jones having terrible awareness. Sometimes it's a frontside rusher just coming up to him and taking the ball out of his hands (Markus Golden, Jamal Adams). Sometimes he's scrambling and not taking care of the ball. At this point it has to stop; he's costing us games, and most QBs know that taking a sack is less damaging than a potential turnover.
  21. BREAKING NEWS: When you play injured players, they re-aggravate their injuries. Maybe Judge really is a young Coughlin.
  22. Good. Maybe he has trade value this offseason. I can't wait to see him off the team; fuck that guy.
