Kick ass. I finally get to see him in real life. Anyone else going to this game?

I was just saying to a friend this morning that we are one really good DE away from this line being scary.

 

Should try to extend Golden ASAP. Plenty of cap space coming up soon to do it.

 

We will never see another season like 2007 again.

 

Sorry to say it but that was a once in a life time season.

Perhaps not, but the point still stands. A team can evolve over a season. Sure they might not make it to the show, but I think most of us would be more than happy with a playoff appearance.

 

Now that may be a fools dream, but right now its still possible. Right now its much more possible than what we saw after the first two weeks.

 

2-4 isn't eliminated but it shows we can't win against capable teams.

They couldnt in 07 either, till they could.

A rebuilding year? Guys, theyre a game out of first place. Its not a rebuilding year until theyre eliminated from the playoffs.

Exactly. F that. When you have a QB who has shown the things Jones has, regardless of the rookie mistakes, no game is unwinable. You dont stop fighting till its over.

Man this really sucks. Kid came out of nowhere as a damn 5th round pick, and as a rookie he's played amazing. Oh well, I just hope he can make a full recovery and be back next year.

I was at this game. Really fun to watch. It was my 7 year old boys first game ever. He had a blast. I thought by halftime he was gonna be a pain in the ass. Nope, the kid was rooting hard for the Giants the whole game.

 

He can hardly speak this morning lol. Good times.

I wonder if there was bad blood between Flowers and old team mates? I can see him hating on the fans, but why wish ill will on your old team mates?

 

Anyhow, the skins looked like total trash. Last thing Flowers should be worrying about is our win/lose record.

Im personally glad hes gone. But I gotta admit watching him with this new QB would have been interesting, to say the least.

22nd in pass defence.

 

22nd in points per game.

 

9th in rush defence.

 

They can stop the run, but can't stop opponents from passing or scoring.

 

Pretty much what we seen when we played them.

 

A top 10 defence they are not, not even top 15.

I stand corrected. Where did they rank in getting QB pressure?

When they do it against a real defense consider me impressed.

 

I'm not expecting anything with this team.

 

I thought the defense would at least improve.

Tampa was a top 10 defense before that game started. I believe 9th if I remember correctly.

Honestly I wasnt even that deflated when Evans caught the bomb. We all knew they had way too much time to go 40 yards and the nfl is pretty much scripted at this point where the team in the Bucs spot never fails to get into fg position. I was just thrilled to see the qb performance and have something to look forward to every week. The win was gravy and now we still have a season

Yep, I was fine with a loss also. The QB performance was enough for me. Knowing this kid was gonna be the guy from here on out was more than enough to get excited.

 

Then when they won it was just gravy.

That was a great start to Daniel Jones era of Giants football. Now unfortunately I don't think he saved the 2019 season, who can though?

 

The defense finally played at NFL level just long enough to contribute to the win. All these years we looked helplessly at a Giants defense that couldn't defend the middle of the field and now we have one that has to defend the deep ball. Last time we looked that bad at Safety, CC Brown was a Giant I'd sign him today because at least he'd be in the frame as the WR ran down the field. Ogletree is out and I'm trying to get excited about Stupar replacing him, not going to happen but Stupar will be out there.

 

Barkley out and Gallman in...He runs hard so there's that and it might be enough if we keep him between the tackles. I'm concerned by the fumbles and the hits Jones has taken so far yet I realize he will probably be our top rusher until Barkley gets back.

I dont think the season is saved either, but I dont think that it still cant be. Like I said in the other thread, if DJ can pull a few more wins out of his ass like last week, maybe it gives the defense enough time to start to become serviceable.

 

We dont need this D to be great, they just have to find a way to not get as abused as they have been. Last two games in the second half, they have shown some flashes showing it might be possible.

 

Jones cant take the same amount of hits he has taken, but only one of the fumbles was his fault. The second one is the same type that happens to the best of them. If he got the ball off one second earlier, you could probably add 40 yards to his total. He was about to drop another bomb on Tampas D.

 

Luckily this week he shouldnt have to take as many hits. Washingtons front 7 isnt as good as Tampas is. Im excited to see how this plays out.

I don't understand the "we should have lost" narrative. A team is a team, and they had a bad kicker... we have a good one. We had the better team.

This is true, we did have the better team. But I dont think there is a person here who after they dropped that bomb to Evans thought we were gonna win. I know I figured that was the final nail in our coffin.

 

Heck before that drive even started I was certain they were gonna make it to field goal range. The D was just that bad.

 

But you are right, it isnt that we should have lost, because we won.

Case Keenum is their QB. Ereck Flowers plays on their offensive line.

Yeah I had this one down as a win even before last weeks game.

Opinions sure change fast after a win due to a bad kicker.

How could they not? Dimes has breathed new life into this team, and fan base. Sure they should have lost that game. But the fact they were even in position to win by taking advantage of one mistake is huge. This is a team that wants to fight for a full 60.

 

Now this could all deflate real fast, but I for one am gonna ride this wave as far as it goes.

If DJ can pull a few wins out of his ass like last week, and the D can start to come together, this season may not be over just yet. In which case soon as Barkley is cleared, he needs to play.

I was perplex when they picked Jones, but I reserved judgement. After watching some film, I began to be a supporter. Now Im pretty sure we have a damn warrior to lead this team. A guy capable of carrying the game on his shoulders if he has too.

Just checking out the odd stats. DJ is 1-0 after trailing by 18 points. Eli never came back after being down by that much. With no run game, and a weak defense no less.
