  1. saw this over my coffee this morning. I would love to see him stay on a 1 yr deal. Wonder if despite two bad years another team won't make this impossible by offering him a big contract though.

Not saying one will, but they might.

Nicks on a reasonable one yr deal seems to good to be true

  2. Marvin Austin hasn't done dick until these past two preseason games where he finally decided to turn it on against 3rd string scrubs.

I pray he's in a Dallas uniform a week from now. We'll rush for 200 yards. Watch his game film from last year if you want to see how Austin really plays.

he hasn't been healthy. He is now. If he can stay healthy he might make some noise. Just hate to see something like that come back and bite us in the ass.

obviously the big question marks surround staying healthy but it is not like Patterson carries no health risks either

  3. not crazy about the thought of Marvin Austin winding up somewhere else in the division but the same can be said of Patterson.

I would not be surprised to see Austin in a Dallas uniform a week from now though

  4. Amukamura is down.....hanging on to his ankle. Being carted off the field. Go figure.

Yep this kid has bust written all over him. He can't stay on the field for more than a few weeks at a time. On the rare occasions when he does line up, opposing QBs immediately make him their bitch.

    Not good.

  5. I've never been, does it cost money to attend?

If you want to park right next to the field I am pretty sure they wack you for parking but their are other lots at teh University within 1/4 mile that are free. Other than that, it's free. Although if you bring a niece, nephew or son / daughter you will definitely get slammed by souveneirs and concessions.

  6. Ah, that explains your opinion... you've got it backwards... its the sideline-to-booth communications that were tapped.

Listening in on the coach-QB signal would be bad enough, but you're right that it would rarely be useful in-game. But what they had access to were coach-to-coach conversations, in real time.

    entirely different scenario.

Seems Mickey Loomis had a switch to turn on a speaker or head set to listen in to opposing teams Offensive and Deffensive Play calls in the super dome 2002-2004 seasons

Based on the above I assumed we where talking about the wireless sideline to helmet coms. FWIW, I just read 3 or 4 articles that did nothing to clarify this IMO

  7. Wouldn't you like to know if your opponent has noticed, say for an example, an offensive lineman telegraphing the play call? Or that the opposing defense has figured out one of your offensive signals? There is practically no limit to the amount of valuable information that the Saints could have stole like this.

Sure but this is not information that is getting spit over the radio in 10 second bursts as the plays are called in. This is the kind of things that the coaches and players are discussing on the sidelines.

As far as I know, the allegation is that he hacked radio communications between the sideline and the designated player on O and D. Not that he bugged the bench area or had access to all of the various separate hard wire links between the booth upstairs and the sideline.

  8. Morons, they can't react to the play in real time but they establish patterns for the rest of the game. Of course it's an advantage.

They do let the coaches watch the game while it is going on fringie.

I can't imagine that hearing the audio would be more illuminating to a professional coach than watching the actual game. They have guys up high in the booth for a reason and they also have the ability to fax down shots from the so called "all - 22" camera for review on the sidelines.

  9. I seen this the other day, I am not sure what significant pieces we have lost? Manningham? Jacobs, who rushed for 35 yards a game?

BB you are my new hero. Bitching about a #1 ranking shows great appreciation for the nuances involved AND I gotta believe it is a board first!

    Bravo Ragazzo

  10. Lmao!

And H I agree, Bennet was a good signing. Funny I mentioned signing him about a week after the superbowl and I got killed for it!

even if it doesn't work out it is an OK move as far as i am concerned.

They got a guy who fits a glaring need ( in-line blocking ) with a lot of upside, cheap for 1 year. The risk / reward IMHO is well in favor of the Giants.

  11. well we did bring in Bennet. The one thing I like about this kid is that he is a pretty good in-line blocker. I know we masked this over the last two years with the Andrews Sisters et. al. but it will be nice to have a blocking TE again.

I also like that it is a one year deal. Sometimes that wakes a guy up.

Other than that, I would not be surprised to see them bring in someone at T or at RB that fits the system but is not a "big name" guy. They will probably wait until after the draft and then go with the greater perceived need.
