Mr. P
Damontre Moore is not expected to participate in the Giants voluntary offseason workout program until next month in order to complete the current semester as a student at Texas A&M, two sources have told The Record. Moore, the Giants’ 2013 third-round draft pick, has been taking classes at Texas A&M toward completing his degree while also training in preparation for his third NFL season. The Giants are counting on Moore to step up and challenge for the starting job at defensive end opposite Jason Pierre-Paul with the release of veteran Mathias Kiwanuka this winter. Moore, 22, is also recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, a clean-up procedure at season’s end, and his rehabilitation from that is progressing well, according to a source. The spring semester at Texas A&M for undergraduate students ends May 15 and Moore should be back in North Jersey around then. The Giants opened their offseason workout program Monday and their first OTA (offseason training activity) is May 27. The mandatory mini-camp for all players is set for June 16-18. http://blog.northjersey.com/giants/4284/moore-not-expected-until-may/ Good for him. gmenroc
Provides extra rest for the shoulder, I'm okay with it. I hope the kid shows some consistency this year.
BlueInCanada
Hope the rest helps, he's gonna need it for when he gets back and the coaching staff drills run containment into his head. Looking forward to seeing what he can do starting across from JPP.
BleedinBlue
Agreed - get 100% healthy. Headline is a bit misleading. May starts next Friday.
