JackStroud
If anything college is more wide open, Jack... a lot more spread offenses, but it differs among the programs. But they are far more pass-happy offenses in college than say a program like Navy, which relies heavily on the run. We have to get receiver right... the other needs are not as pressing. I don think WR's,QBs and RBs are credible coming out of college ......you really cannot judge their college book of work to well Joe Montana was drafted inthe 5th round, Johnny U in the 6th Lineman and LBers are much easier to grade coming out........this is why a lot of teams do not like to get top 10 picks and trade down in the draft....they trade them away, or go for the beefier players besides we need a LBer over any other position Our mangement team will do the right thing.....they usually do

I think he is one of the biggest project wide receivers that can go in the first round. He is mainly a deep threat with a lot of speed. Kind of like......wait for it............Sinorice Moss was. socalscholar
I could see some aspects of the comparison but: 1. Moss had plenty of NFL talent to where his production should have been much better. 2. DHB has the size that Moss does not, he's got about 7" on Moss. 3. DHB was the focus of every defense week in and week out in college, Moss was not. That pick surprises me. He is an extremely raw player. I know all of the things that played agaist DHB in college, no QB, run heavy etc. I am only basing my statement on the rundowns I read about him and his highlight videos I watched on you tube. As I watched I just got the feeling more and more that he was an all or nothing guy. I don't really see him making a tough catch in traffic and taking a hit when needed. I was actually surprised to see his size, because he didn't seem to play like a big guy on his highlights. You can definately tell he has a sprinters background. mws44
PS. I may be totally naive but I still haven't given up on Moss either. I think he shows flashes of a good wide receiver and just think he needs some more opportunities. He seemed to run better routes last year, and didn't really do the run backwards 3 yards before turning upfield thing.
