Lubeck
I've read this quote in a number of articles... "Nobody has two long snappers on their team," Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin said. "What you have is emergency snappers. I take my hat off to James Harrison for stepping up and volunteering and being pumped about snapping that football. We just weren't able to get it done." Don't the Giants have two long snappers though? DeOssie and Alford?
420
Wouldn't Alford be in the same class as Harrison? Defensive player used in an emergency?
Lubeck
Wouldn't Alford be in the same class as Harrison? Defensive player used in an emergency? No. The Steelers had to ask their bench "Who wants to snap". If DeOssie were to go down they wouldn't ask the Giants bench who wants to snap. And doesn't Alford do FG/XP snaps? RandolphScott
No team has two long snappers. Remember DeOssie and Alford play the field as well. The guy from the Steelers was just a strict long snapper, like a Ryan Kuhel.
Gspotter
The Steelers could call Trey Junken.
