mickeef2 Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Pettitte will return in '08. But only after the Yanks pay him way more than he was due (20 million, I'm thinking). Then he will talk about how he felt like he owed it to the Yanks to hold off on retirement and come back for one more year. Count on it.
Ditto Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 It would serve them right for letting him go to Houston in the first place. They were already paying Musina 16k, I think. Pettitte was worth at least that.
njsmalls Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Or we can overpay a 3rd baseman that doesn't hit well on the road and is somehow a better player than A-Rod (The one that is considered the best player in the game) because of totally subjective reasoning.

Better than A-Rod? I don't think you'll hear anybody making that argument. Better for the team than A-Rod? Well, let's see- Lowell's coming off his second championship, of which he was the MVP, and A-Rod is coming off his third straight Division Series loss, of which his non-production was once again a major factor. Lowell also hit pretty good in Cleveland and Colorado, which were really the only two road cities that mattered this year.
K3VIN Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 everyone blames arod but what do you want him to do when he come up with 2outs no one on. he cant hit a Hr everytime.

Very true. He also wasn't the only one not hitting. The entire lineup forgets how to hit once the playoffs start.
