Good News on the Injury Front

The Giants are hopeful two of their injured players – defensive end Osi Umenyiora (hip flexor) and linebacker Brandon Short (quad) – will return to face the Cowboys.

“We’re looking to have Osi and Brandon Short,” Coughlin said. “We’re looking to advance Michael Strahan (who will test his foot when he attempts to run and cut this week) and we’ll see how he does. (Cornerback Corey) Webster (who missed the Titans game with a sprained toe), we’ll know more Wednesday, probably, than we do today.”

Reserve safety Jason Bell fractured a bone in his arm, but continued playing and said he expects to play against Dallas.

“Well, we’ll see,” Coughlin said. “They’re going to come up with a device they hope will allow that bone to stay in one piece. He played pretty much the whole game like that.”

Coughlin said tight end Jeremy Shockey shouldn’t be affected by the dislocated left ring finger he suffered in pre-game warmups. Shockey caught five passes in the game.

Sounds good Osi and B.Short would be HUGE for Sunday's game... :flex:

Agreed. Torbor has done well but Short when he was playing was a dominating force on the field. He was leading in tackles and was putting good hits on players. Can't wait to see him back on the field.

And of course Osi. It is going to be nice having Fattie Joe out of that DE position. I've seen a lot of plays against our defense end up with a QB rolling out in his direction knowing he can't catch them.
