  1. There is plenty of hang time the problem is there is such thing as outkicking the cover team....or even worse outkicking the situation. Like when you need to put the ball between the 5 and 15 yard lines, not right at the line or worse in the end zone.
  2. How could you be giving a guy who hadn't played a down credit for not completely sucking? Because he hadn't had the opportunity? That was phantom in the essence it happens every down and isn't called. I'll repeat for the umpteenth time the Giants deserved to lose. But the officials did nothing to help their effort. The did not report as an elligable receiver call....I'm sorry Tom Coughlin does not go that ballistic on the sideline unless Beatty did report in. Calling Beatty on a penalty when he clearly was on the sidelines. The more I think about it the more I am convinced there was something going on last night. And to make it clear yes I mean there was a fix involved. Why I have no idea. Make Garrett look good? There were at least two holding calls, one that brought back a TD, that were total bullshit regular stuff they let Olines get away with. All of that said I again for the umpteenth time plus one the Giants had no right to win that game.
  3. If nothing else this season has discounted the idea of the 18 game season. I really think that entire notion was a bargaining chip for the owners. No way they could think the players could survive an 18 game season based on the current levels of attrition. Sure they can try and sell the idea it was because the preseason is pointless. Sure they could sell it on the ticket holders don't like spending real game money for pointless games. But who was it that was profiting from preseason games costing the same as regular season games? Who was it that was charging you regular season rates for preseason games? The entire expanded schedule idea is nothing more than a tool in the next labor negotiation.
  4. It is so bad it almost demands you go to the old High School system of forcing them to carry a ball at all times when they are at the practice facility and at any time someone can try and punch it out. No it DOES demand that system. Hell if I were a coach that would be policy 24/7.
  5. Jacobs SHOULD be your classic guy who can get a yard, or inches whenever needed. Yet he has NEVER shown he can do that. Sure once in the blue moon he forces the pile ahead for that yard. But he is far more likely to take the pile an extra yard once he is past the first yard line than he ever is at doing the actual job. When he was Tiki's backup he was pegged as being a big bruiser who gets you that yard. He didn't do it then he doesn't do it now.
  6. As much as we love to hate on Gilfuck for...well being Gilfuck Fewell did a bad job today.
  7. There are numerous things that are wrong with this team that were highlighted by this loss....but I am not going to criticize Nicks for it when he hauled in so many passes that are thrown his direction that no WR has any right to catch.
  8. Well the Seattle game I give them a pass the QB was trying to get rid of the ball ASAP....but yeah it seems diminished. Only so much a 4 man rush can do. Especially when your opponents #1 threat is given single coverage. /still angry at Bryant getting single coverage after NUMEROUS deep plays converting
  9. He clearly was confused why he was getting a pass past the first down line. Only explanation.
  10. Sad that they had a great opportunity to not only do the Japanese vs Dolphins scenario but also highlight how Dan Dierdorf is the the NFL equivalent of Joe Morgan where he knows somehow what is going through every players mind on every play. As bad as Joe Morgan was at recalling history, or even preparing to know the teams in front of him, the most irritating thing about him and Dierdorf is how they presume to know the mindset of a player playing a game generations ahead of where they were.
  11. Bradshaw had a pair hit him as well. And there was the one to Boss that went right through his hands and plugged him in the facemask. So many things went wrong tonight that it is hard to blame the refs. As I have said in a number of threads now the Giants deserved to lose. But damned if the refs didn't give every close call to those fucks from the south. Oh and I can't wait for the day that some defender lights up Bryant. His behavior post-play was above cockiness. Bryant is definitely the latest manifestation of the diva WR and if there is any hope to ending that plague a couple good shots to Bryant will be a good start.
  12. And let me amend my criticism of Fewell. He failed to make adjustments to covering Bryant in the middle of the game. He never should have made those adjustments in the first place. Like I said Bryant was the lone thorn from the first game. Not accounting for him and giving whoever had him help from the getgo isn't a mid-game adjustment that should have been made it was a gameplan failure from the get-go.
  13. You know...and this will stink of MMQBing...I was thinking at the time that play happened Gilbride had a bad plan. WR screens are so hit and miss...and are more likely to miss when you throw it to the WR without anyone to block that first guy. There will be at least one play a week, more likely 2, when they throw it to a WR and there will be no one there to take out the first blocker. That is so typical of Gilbride playcalling. It is completely linked to the throw it to Boss on 3rd and long when he is a good 5, no better yet even farther from the first down line and expect him to magically break tackles.
  14. Besides the officials deciding that any close call goes against the Giants there were two key problems with this game. The OC got pass-happy early on. 15/9 in favor of pass plays to start the game based on the Fox statistics. And like I said in the game topic how many times did we see on 3rd down plays that seemed designed to get the ball into the hands of a receiver short of the first down line and rely on them making it. I think it was Lughead who pointed out that there were two rookie DBs in. And there seemed to be no attempt to try and exploit that. Yes I know I just contradicted myself wanting more runs and then saying we should challenge them with the pass. The problem is the passes were short, not trying to test those rookie DBs. On the DC side Fewell has done a great job so far. But ignoring Bryant and continuing to give him single coverage....when he was the guy who caused havoc the first game against the Cowboys....that is a bad job by Fewell in adjusting the plan midgame. But given how poorly the defense played on key downs I don't know if it would have made a difference. Slide a safety over to help out on Bryant and how the defense played today Witten would have been available for the easy first down.
  15. How does an injured Oline create receivers who look up the field before they have possession of the ball?
  16. Honestly I have no respect for the NCAA. They treat their players as whores and play the pimp aspect perfectly. The NCAA football season brings in billions every yar and the players are allowed to make nothing. I have no respect for college football specifically because there is so much money involved and the ones providing the entertainment are treated like shit. That said I didn't read the article because the dollar value was so low I don;t give a shit. What did Nicks do?
  17. I don't care if Dallas winning makes the Giants chances better my hatred for them transcends the Giants. There is no team in any sport that deserves the hatred Dallas gets. Their little run in the 90s and their attempt at capturing the "Americas Team"......as a Yankee fan it would be easy for that team to try and capitalized the Americas team label. And they don't. But the Cowboys tried to get national on that label. FUCK THEM.
  18. Not against Washington but certainly against Philly. Washington fans have never bothered me. Plus their most famous group of fans is a bunch of cross dressing fatties with pig noses. Philly vs Dallas I am rooting for a tie.
  19. What I don't understand is why this guy is still even a Giant. Do they need a DB? Not that I know of. So why did they sign Blackmon if they were planning on Reynaud still getting the returns?
  20. Mondays and Fridays @11AM with Joe and Evan. Each time he comes on he makes great points and presents an angle I never saw. If I didn't have to actually see the Giants playing I would gladly tune into the radio broadcast to hear his live analysis.
  21. On his regular spot yesterday Carl Banks was asked about this and Rice being #1 and thought he was too soft of a player to be the #1 all time.
  22. I'd rather be waterboarded than root for Dallas.
