  1. Romo:com% 65.1,QB rating 95.3, int 5, fumbles 3

    Manning:com% 64, QB rating: 105.6, int 2. fumbles 2

    just sayin.... :D

You are comparing THIS SEASON'S stats?

I honestly did not want to compare these stats because it is

    UNFAIR TO MANNING.

Seriously, as Fishguts has pointed out in many threads, the Cowboys...

HAVE NO OFFENSIVE LINE AND NO RECEIVERS

So everything Romo is doing he is essentially doing by himself. :D

  2. That's such BS. HERE

I'm not going to count 2011, because it's still a work in progress. But the last two years, 4,000+ yds. With a one year exception (2007--which weirdly enough, was his worst regular season), steady improvement on completion percentage. 20+ TD passes every full season he's played.

So maybe he's inconsistent on completion percentage, since it's improving. The other is interceptions: until last year, he typically fell between 15-20 ints a year; making last year an outlier.

I don't see any reason to believe his final stats this year will vary much this season from those of previous seasons--with the exception of ints from last year. I expect he'll get around 4,000 yards, 20+ tds, and lower ints than last year, certainly. I'm hoping that this becomes his best year to date and marks the beginning of his peak--so far, so good.

I could take his 4-game stats and multiply by four, but that doesn't factor in degrading weather conditions or strength of schedule. Plus, like every other QB in the league, he's likely to have a stinker of a game or two. That includes Tom "4 ints against Buffalo" Brady.

His in-game play starts slow, which makes him seem streaky. But a lot of that has to do with Gilbride trying offensive plays early on to see what will work--Gilbride admitted that himself. So is that Manning being streaky, or random play selection preventing a rhythm?

Of course, NONE of this has to do with what the thread is about, which was about performance under pressure. You would be a fool to argue that Manning is not good in that aspect of the game.

And Tony Romo has a better completion percentage and overall QB rating. Less fumbles and INT's too.

    Just sayin... :D

By the way, almost every OC starts the game off trying to figure out what works. But we didn't call Joe Montana streaky, did we? And Peyton? I don't think so.

And lets not even bring Tom "4 ints against Buffalo" Brady into this discussion.

    Eli's inconsistent.

And the fact that he is often inaccurate is what has prevented him, and will continue to prevent him, from being "elite."

  3. The Yankees have given me so much to be proud of, they could not win for the next 5 years, and Ill have a smile on my face.

Listen, I just dont want you to upset your mom. Its bad enough she has a 35 yr old living in her basement. Now she worked hard on your breakfast. Run.

BB, do you google your mom jokes or do they just roll off your tongue/fingers with little effort?

  4. Last year he was towards the bottom…. this year he leads the pack with almost 10% points between him and the anointed best and most elite QB ever to play the game – Tom Brady.

Passing Under Pressure – Accuracy Percentage

Rank Name Team Att. Comp. TA TD INT Acc. %

    1 Eli Manning NYG 35 20 4 3 0 71.00

    2 Josh Freeman TB 38 25 1 1 1 70.30

    3 Matt Cassel KC 20 10 5 0 1 66.70

    4 Drew Brees NO 44 24 3 1 1 65.90

    5 Alex D. Smith SF 34 18 2 1 0 65.60

    6 Matthew Stafford DET 42 17 11 1 1 64.50

    7 Chad Henne MIA 43 24 2 2 2 63.40

    8 Andy Dalton CIN 23 9 4 1 0 63.20

    9 Kevin Kolb ARZ 44 20 9 4 2 62.90

    10 Tom Brady NE 36 18 4 2 0 62.50

Combined with his league best 139 QB rating in the 4th quarter — it looks like you can't spell ELITE without Eli!

    Report

Easily the most entertaining post every on this board. I am laughing so hard that I cannot even muster the energy to address it. I''ll let it play out and see where it goes. :D

I'm also guessing that Archie and Peyton came up with this so-called report because I imagine they have a lot of time on their hands. Or maybe it was the superfan...

  5. Seems like a no-brainer in that situation.

I thought that at first too. But then I pictured the QB audbeling to a run and sending everyone directly at your franchise WR. Or shifting or motioning to get a more favorable matchup. There would be alot that you would have to teach the WR playing defense.

  6. Yesterday, I watched a QB play like the Super Bowl MVP....literally pulled a win out of nowhere thanks to his masterful No Huddle skills.

I also saw 2 NFC rivals choke away winnable games.

Of course, this is only one week, lots of football to play.

However, thus far, I have the NFC East QBs ranked as:

    Eli Manning

    Sexy Rexy

    Tony Romo

    Michael Vick

At this stage of the game, I'm not arguing with your QB rankings.

But to put things in perspective, if Eli was a Superbowl MVP QB yesterday (assuming he can be one without the guy that caught the ball with his helmet) then we should put Cam Newton in the Hall of Fame today. Afterall, he hung 422 on that shut-down Cards defensive backfield. And he did it with only 1 real WR.

In fact, while were at it, let's put the Panthers and the Giants in the NFC Championship, since beating the Cards in the last minute, or at least coming close like the Panthers did, seems to be the measuring stick in the NFC. :D

  7. And you guys lost to a .500 team. Nor did you exactly blow away Washington at home.

The 49ers are 3-1, but considering they beat Seattle and Cinci, that's not exactly impressive. I guess you'd put them as "struggling with mediocre teams."

This game can be played by multiple players.

Second embarrassing performance by your offense in two weeks. Or are they still highly ranked in yardage? :LMAO:

Fishy, you are losing your composure here. What are you babbling about now?

I have not defended the Cowboys. I picked them to lose to the better team. They did. No excuses. I wouldn't call the O embarrassing. Its more like they made embarrassing mistakes.

But it's like you Giants fans have this Rodney Dangerfield low self-esteem thing going on.

    You desperately need credit.

No, the Giants really have not beaten a good team. And yes, right now, the Eagles are not good. Other Giants fans see this.

So. I'm not going to give you the cookie you so desperately beg for. :cwy:

Deal with it, man. Deal with it.

  8. I don't think your ready for NE Egg........where is the game your palace or their cheapo palace? Anything is possible but they are a handfull.

your relatively weak defense does not play against their strength.

I think you guys have a good team. I could easily see us losing to the Boys in Dallas. We play to the level of our competition.

Our OC does not believe in testing the saftey's unless he has too..........very infuriating

We are not delusional......we are fans.......we expect the best and are not surprised when we implode. There is a go for the throat component missing in the Giants.........unless we are playing the Eagles :smartass: or when we get on a SB run

We'll see, Jack. The Cowboys can rush the passer and do better against smaller WRs. The NE pass rush has not been great. If Austin is back, I think both teams go over 30 and at that point anything can happen.

  9. I think Badegg is right.

We really shouldn't be getting too

Excited. Ok we are 3-1 and are looking nice but let's not forget that we were ugly against the Rams, and came 5 mins away from

Losing to Zona. And the eagles evidently suck, so that takes some away from our win there.

We still have to keep winning and we still have to play Dallas twice PLUS our second half schedule is BRUTAL!!! IMO we MUST go 5-1 at the bye week or else we are fucked.

Toughest second half schedule in football, we can't get too happy yet, I'm liking our team but let's stay focused here. The season is young, and it's also really long.

    :TU:

    I'm almost speachless...

Carefully here, Osi. Your fellow fans may make you turn in your jersey and burn off any Giants tatoos you may have on your skin -- like they do on Sons of Anarchy.

  10. LMAO. The Cards aren't a bad football team. The Redskins also barely beat them... by a single point... and the Seattle beat them at Qwest by a FG. Cards have lost 3 games by a combined 8 points. The Lions needed overtime to beat the vaunted Minnesota Vikings last week. At home, if Romo was the truth and Dallas is for real, they should be able to beat the Lions in their own house. But Romo isn't, Dallas isn't, and there you go.

At the end of the day, we have two home games against Seattle and Buffalo coming up... I like our chances to get to the bye at 5-1.

Dallas is going to New England after their bye this week to get spanked by Brady. It's going to get ugly.

    Romo

The Italian Hotdog, like most Giants fans, is not living in reality. If you are 1-3 you are a bad football team. What is the Cardnal's record? 1-3, you say? Welcome to the bottom of the barrel. I guess you can brag that you are 1 game better than the Rams. But you certainly aren't good.

Maybe we go in the middle and say mediocre, like the Giants. I don't know.

If you mean that the Cowboys are not "real" as in a Superbowl contender, I know of very few people, including myself, that made that argument at the beginning of the season. Head Coach's first full season. New DC and new system. Didn't add anything to their weakest unit in the offseason -- the defense. Re-tooled their offensive line with young guys. But I will be open minded the rest of the way because much can change as the season wears on and the Cowboys are playing a little better than I anticipated. As far as Romo goes, he is not blameless, but he is not entirely at fault either.

Unlike you people, I don't live in dreamworld year in and year out.

The Giants have not accomplished anything and of course you feel good about Seattle. Rutgers would feel good about Seattle. But, this is the Giants, and I would not be surprised to see them lose at least one of the next two.

That being said, I believe if Miles Austing is back, the Cowboys will beat NE. That's right. I said a loss to Detriot and a win in NE. They match up better to NE.

  11. What has changed since Friday?

The Cowboys lost to a better Detriot team, just like I said they would.

And the Giants struggled with another mediocre team. Nothing new here.

The Giants have beaten teams with a combined record of 2 wins. And were dominated by the only winning team they have played. And the Lions are better than all of them.

But, by all means, keep dreaming... :o

  12.

It does. I especially love the part where Eli say he's not worried about the numbers. That may be true. But what is also true is that he should not and, more importantly, cannot worry about the numbers. Because...

He does not have the skills to put up the big numbers on a consistent basis.

It's not that he chooses not to do it for the sake of the team.

It's that he just can't do it. Which is fine.

It just means that the defense and the other skills players (see Victor Cruz last week) must make up for Eli's short comings or what you end up with is Week 1 in Washington, and an extra TD that the poor Giants defense did not give up.

The criticism that his teamates whine about has been earned. The simple fact is that you cannot criticize Brady or the good Manning consistently for the same mistakes Eli makes because they do not make those mistakes as often as Eli.

The simple fact is that he sould not be making some of these mistakes at this juncture of his career with the players he has around him. Just throw the damn ball over the defensive lineman's hands, son.

So Eli is right. He should be himself and rely on his teammates. Because if he tries to be something he is not, he will cost them games.

  13. Its weird that they are but it's true.

How's there back 7?? I know there D Line is legit and there offense is legit.

I'm with you. Don't know much about them,

I don't think they run the ball consistently though.

So maybe you can get to Stafford or at least confuse him.

  14. We shall see.

I wouldn't hang my hat on Phil Costa handling Ndamukong Suh next week.

    Holy mismatch, Batman.

I see the Cowboys at 2-2, and the Giants at 3-1.

I agree with this. I think I said as much earlier. Anything can happen but right now, Detriot is better.

  15. You talk too much shit instead of being reasonable, Egg. My friend, who's a boys, fan talk all the time.. of course he things Dallas should be 3-0... but hey as a Giant fan I feel the same way about my team. I don't know how old you are but I'll guess you're in your early 20s and got a lot to learn.. debating is an art.. let's minimize the trash talk and focus on facts.

Honestly, look through these threads and see how much shit I talk about the Cowboys. I'm very reasonable when it comes to analyzing them. I get in trouble around here when I try to get you people to stop drinking the koolaid.

  16. I certainly don't need to carry Fish's water, but I have to say your comments about the Giants simply fly in the face of reality.

The Giants have steadily improved this season, which is clearly obvious on film, and confirmed by every professional football analyst that has weighed in on the subject.

I'm not discounting the Redskins...I fully expected a better team this season from 2010. But, if the Giants from Week 3 show up against the Redskins from Week 1, it will be a different outcome in the Meadowlands.

As for the Cowboys.....if they don't improve dramatically, the Giants will kick their ass when they meet.

Most of these so-called analysts also believe that the Rams handed the game to the Giants. The Rams suck. Quite honestly, the Giants did not look very good against the Rams. I can't remember many people being overly impressed with the Giants that night. The fans that were booing in the Meadowlands weren't.

So the Giants look mediocre for two straight weeks. Actually, flat out bad week 1 and mediocre week 2. Then they go into Philly. Nobody covers Jacobs. Easy TD. Nobody tackles all 120 pounds of Cruz. TD. Vick gets hurt. And Fat Andy goes for it on 4th down when he should have punted.

And this is improvement. For all we know, at the end of the year, the so-called dream team may be a 7-9 team. I don't know if I would hang my hat on the improvement theory just yet.

  17. So, you're telling me your team wouldn't have done better with a healthy Romo, Bryant, and Austin Monday? I'm sorry to hear that.

Of course, we appeared to have a decent offense last week without 2 of our starting WRs from the previous week. Certainly not the horror show that showed up in your game. And we were running the ball--what was Jone's excuse?

You miss Barber. Your line looks barely passable with your starters intact. Your depth is abysmal. Your team takes the injury hits we've taken so far, and you're already watching college games to see who you can draft with your high pick. As it is, WE HAVE THE SAME RECORD. More importantly, I've seen IMPROVEMENT between week 1 and 3, even with losing another player to IR. Our last game was our strongest, with both our offense and defense showing signs of getting into gear. How's your season going?

And yeah, playing on a Monday, then AGAIN THAT THURSDAY isn't typical for football. Especially when you are in preseason, which is supposed to be about getting ready for the regular season. It defeats the purpose, and certainly doesn't help you to get players that you weren't expecting to start ready for the first game. It made that last week of preseason an utter waste of time.

I've tempered my expectations for this season. I plan on enjoying some of the kids develop, and would be happy if we got into the playoffs at all. From what I saw, I suggest you do the same.

What are you on crack? Tempered expectations? And I remembered you as being reasonable.

As I said earlier, I did not view the Cowboys as a playoff team when the season began. As of today, I think they are as good as anyone in the East. So we'll see as the season progresses.

But your ranting about the Cowboys offense is ridiculous. I'm not big on statitstics but through 3 weeks they're like 5th in the league in yards per game while the Giants are like 20. The Giants have scored 2 points more than the Cowboys. They made the Jets look silly for 3 1/2 quarters. So don't talk to me about offense.

Dez will heal. Felix will heal. Austin will come back. The offense will be fine.

The more you post the more credibility you lose. Your rants give little respect to the Redskins and that is wrong.

I mean, after all, you think you would give their defense some measure of respect given what they did to the Giants in week 1. Take off the blue and red goggles and really look at that game.

    Instead, you make pathetic excuses.

As a Cowboys fan I say hats off to the Redskins defense. A hard-hitting, talented, athletic unit. As well coached as any. I think the Redskins defense will keep them in the thick of things.

And I'm happy that Romo and the Cowboys stole a game from them. I guess it sucks that you can't say the same thing.

  18. If you look up "work in progress", you'll see a photo of the Cowboys offensive line.

Honestly, if they don't improve, Romo will be scrambling around on a Rascal by the end of the season.

    My favorite play......"the spontaneous snap"

Not arguments here. I think I described them exactly the same way in another thread.

I normally don't like the early bye weeks but it is coming at the right time this season.

  19. You keep telling yourself that, maybe youll believe it eventually.

Even with the meltdown, we still had a chance up until the end. You guys were out early.

And stay with us Sybil, I didnt change the subject, youre just having an episode where you dont know who you are.

Catostophic meltdown of historic proportion. Deal with it.

The last time I saw something like that on the football field was...

Several years ago...in Candlestick...when Jeff Garcia lead the 49ers came back from the dead and defeated...

    :D

  20. 3) What'e even more laughable is your assessment of Garrett, Kitna and the Keystone Cops. Garrett can't coach. Kitna can't play. See exhibit 1: 2010 Cowboys 33 Giants 20. Garrett, in his head coaching debut, schools the Giants with, the one and only, JON KITNA. Of course Brady JR did give them 7, just like he did with the Skins in Week 1. But, over all, it was a sound thrashing in a game they had no business winning. Go figure. Those Keystone coaches...

Why did Romo play Monday night? Was the Cowboys training staff being foolish? Romo was the best QB on the field. He is being paid a ton of money to play football. Guys have played hurt before and with broken ribs. He did was he was supposed to do and he did it well.

But keep posting, man. I have missed you.

Your WRs didn't know where to line up. Your center blew 4 snaps, including a couple with Romo directly over him. I'm not blaming Garrett, but I wouldn't exactly say your coaching staff did a bang-up job getting those guys ready to play. That's on the offensive staff, and you have to be the biggest homer in the world to think that was acceptable work getting those guys ready to play.

But don't take my word for it--watch the reaction your QB had to the situation during and after the game. He wasn't exactly all smiles now, was he?

I think Kitna is a decent QB. Not great, not a full-time starter. I thought he was good even before he joined the Lions, let alone your team. But I wouldn't put him on the field on one week's notice with the clown car WRs you foisted into Monday's game. Apparently, the Cowboys should put their offensive plays in an audio book, because your wide receivers obviously didn't or couldn't read it.

And no, I don't think it was the brightest idea to let a guy get on the field with a punctured lung, and no running game to speak of. Broken ribs, ok, that's been done, and so long as it's well-protected, it should be ok. But a punctured lung is just reckless--and for what? Entertainment shouldn't have a body count, and it's irresponsible to even take that chance.

The sick part of all this is I was actually hoping you guys would win, because I'd rather be in a tie for first than all alone in second. I will never make that mistake again.

    [/quote

And if you insist about comparing a wk1 game to your wk3 fiasco, let's do just that. Because of weather conditions, we played 2 preseason games and a regular season game within a two-week span. Three games, two weeks--and we lost a week of practice between the 3rd and 4th preseason games. And during that span, we lost a boatload of players to injured reserve, with precious little time to adjust--you want to compare that to the joke of a depth chart you put on the field Monday in WEEK 3?

Sorry, man. You lost me right here. This is bad, even for a Giants fan. The MOTHER of all excuses -- we played too many games and we lost practice time. Throw in a "boatload" of injuries to boot. Creative. Sad.

It hurts, I know. The Cowboys won the game and are in first place. They won the game despite that depth chart, despite mass confusion on the o-line and despite a group of WR that had no idea what they were doing and a WR who was playing on 1 leg.

And they played their best football in the fourt quarter. When they had too.

The Giants were shut out by the Redskins in the second half. Did they even convert a 3rd down? And they had a healthy Manning. They had Nicks. They had Jacobs. They had Bradshaw. I believe they had Manningahm. And they couldn't even get a field goal.

Meanwhile, Grossman rings them up for 300 yards. Think about that. And a 100 yard game from Fred Davis, the TE version of Jerry Rice. Davis will be good, no doubt. But the Giants have issues. Sorry, they do.

They played too many games = excuse.

    They couldn't practice = excuse.

    Injuries = excuse.

The Cowboys were injured Monday night. Half the league is. Vick wasn't around in the fourth and we all know what he can do in the fourth.

The Giants don't look good this season. TC will probably be canned at the end of the year and you'll be starting over. Your QB won't be run out of town because they can't.

But what can you do? Relax man, and enjoy the season.

You beat the dream team and have the Cardnals next week. Times are good.

  21. Erm... dude. Romo? Listen, I get it. Romo has shown a lot of toughness the last 2 weeks. I give him props for that. But when you talk about 4th quarter, game on the line situations, I'm taking Eli or Vick over Romo.

Anyways, like you said, the Cowboys have a weak defensive backfield. I think you're discounting how bad the O-line is (although that can be improved over the course of the season, a lot easier than talent deficiencies in the secondary). It is very, very difficult to win with a bad secondary in the NFL. And I'll tell you BadEgg, I don't see the Cowboys doing better than 4-4 in the first half. I think you guys can realistically get to 9 wins, though, if you catch a few lucky breaks. But you better hope that O-line is much better by week 14... because Romo won't finish the game, and you'll be counting on Kitna to beat the Giants again in week 17... hoping for lightning to strike twice.

I also thinks its realistic the Cowboys win 9. The defensive backfield has issues. The line is much better than you give them credit for, but still a work in progress.

But when the season started I thought the Cowboys, without a doubt, were on the outside looking in as far as playoffs go. But now, looking at the rest of the NFC East, its wide open.

And your kidding yourself if you think the Giants are winning more than 10.
