  1. For some reason, I cannot even entertain the idea of the Giants winning this week. Usually, I stop by before the game, talk trash, some of which I don't even believe.

But this season, this week, I cannot even imagine a scenario in which the Giants beat the Cowboys.

Kansas City. Now that's a trap game if I ever saw one. I CANNOT stop thinking about Kansas City.

  2. The dog knows you came back after a "friend" of yours contacted you...so what? You turn tail and run when the giants struggle. You gave up on them after they lost to the eagles. You gave up on manning after they lost week 1 to the skins...you gave up on them in 2007 after they lost midyear...the dog sees you for what you are, and so this will be most likely be the dogs last interaction...you sir, are what you are, and that is not as entertaining for the dog as it used to be...

Yup, Dog. BB's antics never get old. Just like he did with the Yankees. Rinse. Repeat. Rinse. Repeat.

  3. the dog's intentions were pure...but true, the press conference has taken an unfortunate turn. the dog has little time for bigblue at this point, given his true colors being exposed...firstenten has some potential to be entertaining for the dog...he just needs to get out of the preadolescent sexuality material. that just gets old and boring...

Dog, First and Ten has all but admitted he has been less than stellar. I don't have the energy to put people on ignore and sift through the posts. But First and Ten is now on my 1 line rule: I will not read anymore than the first line of his post until he earns more. He needs to up his game and prove he is worth my time.

  4. Funny, he almost got the score of the NYG-GB game exactly right......except which team scored what....... :D

Hes bitchin up, he aint comin around for awhile.

Why wouldn't I check in this week, BB?

I may have been wrong last week but so was most of the nation. I still think this cute little blue-engine-that-could story that is the NY Giants will derail.

However, I'm not a Giants fan so I doubt that most people want me around on a daily basis. They should enjoy this little improbable run.

But let's get one thing straight, Super-Bandwagon-Fan. I am not you. I will not run away depending on the score of the Giants game.

For the fun of it, while I'm around, can you explain your most recent fairweather-meltdown again?

And, watch your tone, or I'll PM Hotdog...We all know how that will turn out.

  5. 1) Refs...popular but overused. But you people never seem to get tired of crying about it.

    2) Injuries...unless Manning goes down...no self-respecting Giants fan would go there. :TD:

    3) The wrong Giants showed up. A new personal favorite of mine. As if they dictate everything. :BullShit-1:

There's one Giants team. The one that beats teams with 500 or below records and the one that, most of the time, loses to the good teams. Sorry...

    Packers 34 Giants 23

Because the Packers are better.

  6. Every year the NFL pundits pick them to win the division or come in second place. It's two years in a row now they missed the playoffs. Since the akimen era they have like what? Three division east crowns? I love how sadegg says Dallas is the Giants superbowl. It's shows how deep the pain really goes.

Silly little man. The pain doesn't run as deep as you would think but if it makes you feel better to think so then, by all means, do it.

My Superbowl comment was a response to some post Nas made. For some reason you are itching to create conflict (which I'm all for when warranted) but in doing so you are lowering yourself to BB depth. Which means you are posting alot of confrontational nonsense.

And really, division crowns? Who really counts division crowns besides the players themselves and the owners? It's all forgotten after wild card week. Where did the division crowns get the Cowboys when the years they didn't win the Superbowls and how good will this year's division crown feel if Atlanta wins or when Greenbay dismantles the Giants?

Last year the Cowboys put a terrible defense on the field. They added a couple of roll players who would make them better and a coach -- which gets you about two or three more wins. Hopefully, they plug the holes next year. It's doable. But I think most Cowboys fans -- or at least the ones I know -- kind of saw this coming.

I don't know if I'm humbled. But you have to temper your expectations based on what the NFL has become. It's not the 1990's anymore and their are dozens of teams that have had the same problem generating consistent success as the Cowboys.

The Cowboys get the most publicity but tons of teams are in the same boat. It's very difficult in these days and I think teams have less control over their success than they had years ago. In part, you need more luck and less injuries. But I actually like this better than the 90's.

But what's laughable is that some of you Giants fans talk like the Giants have won 5 out of the last 6 Superbowls. With all of your chest thumping and the so-called brilliant moves by the fearless leaders of your franchise, you've produced 1 Superbowl win since the Cowboys won 3 in 4 years.

That's it. In fact, the Giants basically disappeard from 1991 to 2008. It happens to all teams.

But honestly, the types of debates you want to have with me -- I typically have with 49ers, Patriot, or Steelers fans. Win a few more big ones and check back. If you want me to humor you I will. But know in advance that I won't be taking you seriously.

    Until then...

First and Ten meet Big Blue...Big Blue meet FIrst and Ten -- now go trade mother jokes.

  7. Yea but we already got our year's worth just seeing the look on Jerry Jones' face.... twice actually :D

It's good to see that you Giants fan have such high aspirations because, like I've said in the past, the Cowboys are everyone's Superbowl. :)

  8. We're not necessarily playing Green Bay in the 2nd round. I will be rooting hard for Detroit as well as the Giants this weekend.

You should root hard for Detroit. It's your only chance. Though SF will be no picnic either. But I just don't see it happening. That's while I'm calling for Giants/GB.

The Saints getting upset two years in a row in the first round? At home this year on a Sat night? With Brees playing as well as he is? Against a team whose coach and QB are in their first real big game on a big stage? I don't know about that one.

Here is what I say in the crazy unpredictable league that this has become. If Detroit upsets NO, the Falcons upset the Giants. Wouldn't that be a pisser...

  9. YUP, I was pissed a few weeks ago, and rightfully so. Their performance vs the Saints and the last skins game was pathetic. But the Giants have what the cowshits dont.......more talent and heart.

    FUCK THE COWGIRLS.....GO HOME.

Fuck the cowgirls, fuck the cowgirls, fuck the cowgirls...

I have to be honest here BB. I don't think I can respond to you anymore. Seriously. I won't put you on ignore because you are waaaaay too entertaining. But this routine -- the drama -- the hypocricy -- is getting old.

Let's be real: You disappear when the Giants play poorly. So you, by definition, are a fair weather fan. That's right. Fair-weather. You blame others -- I believe in your last drama-filled tirade you said that Badegg and Italian Hotdog made life on the boards unpleasant. C'mon man. We are just 2 people.

Despite all of this, when the Giants win their only 3rd game in what, like 7, you reappear and direct a thread at me -- the very person who supposedly makes the boards less fun. Why engage me in a post like this if I am one of the reasons you don't like to post here?

Ane then you whine when either I or the Dog comes back at you with facts.

Can you smell what I'm cooking here, BB?

    Rinse. Repeat. Rinse. Repeat.

And your profanity laced tirades...fuck this, cum mouth that...

C'mon man. Be better than that in 2012.

    C'MON MAN!

  10. I think this is the word that describes how we're all feeling toward eggy:

    scha·den·freu·de

       [shahd-n-froi-duh] dictionary_questionbutton_default.gif Show IPA

    noun

to take great joy or pleasure felt at someone else's misery and misfortune.

Okay, I obviously have to admit that the Giants are the better team this season because they won both games. But I'm not in as much misery as you might expect. Like I said months ago, the 2011 Cowboys were an 8-8 team. No surprises as to why. But I was pleasently surprised by 4 or 5 things and if they play their cards right, they could make a run next season. I'm more optimistic now than I have been in years past. We'll see.

As far as the Giants go:

Giants 27 Atlanta 20 -- I think Atlanta wins in Atanta. If the weather is good, I think Atlanta has a shot. But I think the Giants will find a way.

GreenBay 38 Giants 20 -- and that is being generous, especially if Jennings is back. I think this one is close at different moments in the game but this is not 2007. Ain't happening. Not with GB being at home with 2 weeks to prepare. So enjoy this weekend.

  11. Wrong again dog, Dallas could beat the Giants with Kitna. the Dog is sure of allot of things. Rodgers finished last weekends game with concussion sypmtoms. And your still missing the point.

Dumb ass dumb ass dumb ass.

Yes, the Cowboys can beat the Giants with Kitna. They did last season.

BUT Kitna is not available. Hence, why they WANT Romo as healthy as he can be this week. Because they are not beating anyone with Steve McGee this season, especially a potential shoot out. He has potential but he is a project.

The key here is that it was Romo's throwing hand. That is more significant then a rib injury. Because you don't grip the ball with your ribs. There are some former QBs that are saying he will have trouble gripping the ball tonight, a week out.

So you rest up, you don't aggravate the injury and you move on to a mediocre team that is beatable. Also, by the way, Felix Jones had a hamstring. It's a leg muslcle that can keep you out for weeks, ever a season, if you injury bad enough. Ware was not healthy the first Giants game, so they rest them too.

I could care less what Atlanta does this weekend. But I'll bet they win. But playing your best player in the hope that a terrible team upsets a playoff team...dumb dumb dumb.

You bet on yourself against teh Giants not TB against Atlanta

  12. Silly, silly, silly. Jones should not have been on the sidelines but Romo should not have played. A swollen throwing hand is not worth the risk, especially when you can beat a mediocre team to get it. Beat the 8-7 team or go home. Really, I can't be more objective than that.

Had the Cowboys played Romo and injured him more, and had Atlanta gone on and upset NO, everyone would say Garrett was stupid for playing Romo in a meaningless game when they could clinch against the Giants.

Honestly, the Giants are not a very good team. If you lose to the Giants twice, you are not a very good team and do not deserve the right to back in at 8-8. At least for me, it's that simple. I think that's a very objective analysis but I can't speak for all Cowboys fans on the issue.

But I don't think it was gutless.

This has got to be the dumbest debate ever.

  13. it's supposed to be in the mid 50's Sunday during the day.

True. That's why it would probably be a more enjoyable experience and a better game if it were played Sunday during the day in the mid 50's. I'll bet it's much colder by 9 and if you have the typical Meadowlands wind it's going to feel 10 degrees colder than whatever it is.

  14. Makes sense to me Romo would rather play dress up with Jones then face the Eagles D-line. There beats the heart of a champion

Now you are just being silly. And confrontational. During the Holiday season no less, when we should be kind to our fellow football fan.

The man played and won with a punctured lung and broken ribs on the road against a team that beat the Giants and their so-called "elite" QB. Romo followed it up with another gutsy performance when his own team sucked against a Redskins team that beat the Giants twice, including one game where Montana Jr served up and INT TD. Questioning Romo after the year he has had, factoring in statistics and the intangibles, is just silly at this point.

The hand was too swollen on Sunday for him to really be effective. If they threw him out there, maybe they would have won. But why risk it? Why risk him diving or other players diving for a fumbled snap? Why risk balls sailing and Austin or Dez being hung out to dry? Why risk Romo further damaging his hand when they can still line up and play a mediocre Giants team for a playoff spot?

Because Tampa Bay might rise up from the dead and beat Atlanta? And then you can back in at 8-8? Please...

The Giants defensive line may generate too much pressure this week. The Cowboys defensive line must be better than the last time out. If the Giants win they win. If the Cowboys play better defense, and they can, I think they could win. I think the weather could help them.

But I also think most true Cowboys fans are okay with not backing in at 8-8.

  15. Really. Did you watch the game? when your star TE Witten was coming off the field he directly stated to the sideline chick that they knew the game "did not matter".

If the coaches where aware that the game actually did matter they probably should have shared that info with their best offensive player.

But hey if you lose this week and so does Atlanta you can always tell yourself that your coaches where right in not exhorting their players to go hard.

They were not going to win with McGee. They can win the division this week. So, in a sense, it was meaningless.

And we don't know how well TB would have faired playing an Atlanta team that had something on the line. I'm guessing not very well.

But the Atlanta game this week is -- there's that word again -- meaningless.

Don't get me wrong, I don't advocate throwing games away.

But the risk of winning that game with or without Romo was not worth it when compared to the likelihood of TB knocking off Atlanta in a game that mattered.

Beat the 8-7 team with the bad defense or go home.

Beat the 8-7 team with the bad defense or go home.

    Very simple.

  16. Egg, I still contend (with H) that the game against Philly wasn't meaningless because there was one other scenario the Boys could make the playoffs while losing the the Giants this week.. too late now.. it's over.

However I wanted to commend you on your participation in this board. Earlier when you started posting it was more trash talk and far less substance... welcome again to the board my friend.

Yea, well, how much trash talking can either side really do? And I'm burned out this season from too many games going down to the wire. Let's just hope both teams play well Sunday night, and not the sloppy blown coverage penalty-ridden bs that we sometimes see.

  17. I typically stay away from these boards anymore, but wanted to respond to this. To say that neither team has a chance is absurd. Tell the 2007 Giants they had no prayer. Tell Green Bay last year they had no prayer. If Detroit, San Fran, The Giants, Dallas, or the Falcons have no chance, why play the game. Sorry, but claiming this is not the Cowboys year or the Giants year is claptrap. You may truly believe that, but as a true NY Giant fan and a fan of the sport, I say either team has a shot. Green Bay is beatable, The Giants proved they could be scored on and with a better defensive showing (hitting Rodgers hard and often) they can be beat. The Saints are not world beaters when playing outside of their dome. They can be taken down. I see no team that can say they are unbeatable.

As for not playing your starters last week. I agree. It was would have been stupid to play Romo in that game. Besides, I want to face Romo as the Giants are horrid against backup QBs. Just saying.

Anything can happen. You are correct. But the Giants and Cowboys are going to need a lot of shit to go their way. I agree GB is beatable. I don't think its likely that either the Giants or Cowboys will do it. But they could. And I agree completely with what you say about the Saints. So somebody better knock them off because our teams would be going to the dome. But, keepin it real, I think the 2007 Giants were better than the 2011 Giants. Any team that can throw well will be a problem, including Detriot.
