  1. Washington, St Louis, Seattle, Buffalo and Miami are playoff teams?

Philly was not a loss to a bad team?

Sounds like a pretty good description of the Cowboys as well.

What we will see Sunday is 2 pretty average teams fighting it out for 1st place in a week division.

I'm not arguing with this. I think if the Cowboys want to be considered something more than an average team, they need to win at least 3 out of the last 4, starting with a win against a team fighting for their lives Sunday night.

As far as I'm concerned, the Giants had their chance to proves themselves and already and failed. SF. NO. GB. And to some extent, Philly at home. A game you have to win.

I'm not saying its impossible for the Giants to go on a run, but they have to do more than win Sunday night to convince me of anything. Right now, the measuring stick is SF, NO, GB. Not Dallas.

  2. I forgot one more gem. The upper tier has a halo. A metal structure that houses the sound system and some lighting. It hangs about 30-40 feet over some seats in the upper bowl. When it rains it drips water on fans sitting under it. The October 30th game after the snow it was beautiful out, sunny sky etc people sitting under that thing where getting pissed on all game by melting snow. There is no doubt in my mind that when (if ever) we have a cold weather game with sleet/ice, icicles and falling Ice is going to cause some serious issues. Someone is going to get fucked up from that. Blind, knocked the fuck out something. MArk it down.

    Shit!

  3. If you like watching the game from a window it's awesome. If you actually like going to games and actually watching the game it's the same sight lines as the old stadium just a little father back. Geting to the seats is a total cluster fuck if you are up high (300 level) there is no straight shot to your seats you have to take several escalators so unless you're a puss walking is the way togo. Other then that......the place is a total abomination. It was build for gay pirate fun, for rich guys who like to wear footie PJ's to NFL games favorite activities include texting their "buds" on how cool the fireplace is. Watching the game on the flat screen at the bar. And using their preferred parking passes as coaster for 20 dollar drinks..

That's a shame. I liked going to old Meadowlands. It was pretty accessible. I know season ticket holders that tell me its a nightmare getting in and out. That, in combo with the game being Jan 1, no brainer for me to stay home.

  4. Hey BadEgg how you doing?

My comments were meant for the Moron who started this post looking to stir the pot. It should be a good game.

The team who wants it most will win.......plain and simple.......according to Parcells Law- "You are what your record says you are" going by that the teams are pretty evenly matched.....having said that we have had the better of the Cowboys since 2007 and that has to be playing on their minds.

The Cowboys comments yesterday were puzzling/laughable, to say the least, they sounded like a bunch of women.

Can you explain them, because I never heard anything like them before a big game from the enemy camp....are they trying reverse psychology?

An ESPN reporter has said that anyone who actually heard Ware live would have realized he was just messing around.

What cracks me up about the pre-game talk in the NFL is that I think the fans get more riled up. I'll bet that many of these guys say shit and then end up having a beer together had a charity event in the offseason, while the message board fans continue to argue about it.

But Giants stadium does look weird from the outside. That I can attest to personally. Haven't been in yet. Could have gone the last game of the year, but I passed the tickets up.

  5. There are two Giants' Defensive Coordinators this season, the Perry Fewell that respects opponents' QB's (Brady, Rodgers, Vick), and the Perry Fewell that doesn't respect the opponent's QB (Matt Moore, Vince Young, Whitehurst/Jackson).

Fewell probably respects Romo's ability so hopefully he'll have a more aggressive game plan against them than the ones he had against some of the less-heralded QB's this season. For that reason, and the fact that Eli is a better QB than Romo, I think the Giants have the edge in this game, but it's close, because the Cowboys are much healthier than the Giants right now.

This will be the first time that the Giants have had to face DeMarco Murray as well. He is a player to be very concerned about. They have to play him much the same way as they did against LeSean McCoy a couple of weeks ago, he was pretty much shut down except for a long run right at the end of the game. They are going to have to devote that extra guy in the box and send Kiwi crashing in after the running back.

We also need Boley to play this week. I'm concerned about this football game, but I think Eli can hurt the Dallas secondary badly.

I agree with much of what you say and think it can go eitherway. They are evenly matched and evenly flawed.

I disagree in that I would give the Cowboys the slight edge. But I'm bias. But I feel this way based on some of the things you point out: I think Demarco Murray will give the Cowboys a slightly better run game and I think the Dallas defense will make one or two more plays or stops then the Giants defense.

I don't expect either QB to lose the game for their team. I think they both play well.

  6. There are tow types of Giants teams this season... and let's ignore the wins or losses because this is the NFL not MLB:

    1. We have a team that beat NE, took SF to the wire, was robbed from a W vs the undefeated Packers... :flex:

    2. The team that lost to the skins, seahawks.

I expect BOTH (Cowboys and Giants) teams to show up on Sunday night... and hopefully we come out with a W.

Sorry, but the Giants have not been robbed of anything this season.

They have had the opportunity to play the 3 best teams in the NFC and they (1) fell short in a winnable game, which speaks more to the Giants' flaws then SF's strengths; (2) were embarassed on Monday night; and (3) gave up 38 points, including a pick 6.

I have not looked at the so-called controversial call, because even if it was a bad call, Superbowl teams don't give up pick 6s, 38 points, and complain about offciating. Especially, given the season they have had. That, my friend, is pathetic.

I stand by what I said: We know what the 2011 Giants are.

  7. Are you DRUNK? We own the Cowboys for years now and you have never beat us in GO-GO Stadium- Eli won the 1st game in your edifice and left a sharpie note Jerry Jones had erased LOL.........

Your man Ware said he hated playing the Giants yesterday, he's scared, and your team is equally scared

    YOU are delirious :jerkoff:

BTW you are out of step with most Cowboy fans calling into Sirius NFL Radio.......most expect to be beat badly and want your HC run out of town on a rail

    Own the Cowboys?

Actually, Jack, the Cowboys went into your bland edifice last season on like a 5 game losing streak, with a back-up QB that was 100 years old, and brand new head coach -- coaching his first game, and dismantled the Giants.

In fact, the lights went out in the Meadowlands that night. Literally.

And that was the last time the two teams played. I think the teams are evenly matched and Sunday night goes down to the wire.

But there is also the chance that the wheels are going to fall off one of the two wagons and, if that happens, I'm betting it's yours. :)

  8. Probably one of these two options.

    I love this question.

There is ONE (1) Giants team in 2011. That team beats average to below average teams and loses to playoff contenders and sometimes to teams like Seattle. At home.

Blame injuries. The defense. The coach. Or the refs if you will. But that's what the 2011 Giants are.

And this game is not about what the Giants are. We know that already. It's about what the Cowboys are:

Do the Cowboys have the killer instinct and ability to limit their mental mistakes and put away a mediocre team that has enough weapons to make you pay for your mistakes?

Honestly, and I'm not saying this as a Cowboys fan or to rile anyone up, but honestly, this is not 2007 and the 2011 version of the Giants would probably get eaten up by that team.

And, at this moment, I'm not saying the Cowboys are winning any Superbowls either. But, keeping it real, that's what this game is about.

  9. Well, I was referring to Cruz..thanks.

I like Cruz. I think we have a little more of a body of work on Austin so I can't wait to see what Cruz does next year.

But I am a fan. He has been bailing my 2 fantasy teams out of trouble all year. :)

  10. Hey dude..I actually wanted to get your opinion on something. We both have WRs that went to small colleges and have pretty much come outta nowhere to be successful in the NFL.

You think if Miles Austin WASN'T on the Cowboys..he would be that successful?

Yes. I think the Giants WRs and Miles Austin are outstanding and would do well on most teams.

  11. The Dog is OK. He brings a different perspective, that's for sure.

It's the other two clowns that I'm talking about. Cowboyz isn't that bad save for the fact that he's been invisible until two weeks ago... but the fact that people still humor fucking BadEgg after he lost his stupid bet four years ago and still comes back here every time the Cowboys go one game ahead is just retarded.

I can't stand an asshole that loses a bet and can't man up.

Hmmmm...In my book a bet requires something to be given on both sides. Regardless, even if my offer was a "bet" there is only one thing worse than someone not honoring a "bet":

It's the 12-year-old girl crying about it 4 years later. :cwy:

That's all I'll say on that.

  12. WTF are you doin posting in this forum? Now that you lame fuckin cowboys are gonna be 2 games ahead you can show up. Your a typical fuckin loser that are just like the callers on 660. When your winning your all over the phone lines. When your not your nowhere to be found. And if you want prove me wrong. When the Giants beat the cowboys show your face around here. I'll start a topic just for you. Then, when we beat them on new years day ill make another, You wont be here for either cause your a whimp.

The fact of the matter is that I'm here pretty frequently in both Cowboys wins and losses. I tend to disappear when the Giants fulfill my predictions and jump the shark, which is usually the second half of the season. It is no fun being here when the Giants are eliminated from post season contention which means I'll probably only pop in1, maybe 2 more weeks.

    Nail in coffin # 2: Packers 37 Giants 23

There's part of me that wants to pick the Giants this week because of their history of rising to the occassion from time to time against a good team. But I think that's history. The 2011 Giants just don't have it in them.

If you want an example of a typical 660 caller look no further then BigBlue and his fareweather antics. I think he should turn over his Osi jersey and cape, and formally make you the Superfan.

  13. When are you guys going to learn the difference between an observation and an excuse?

I was comparing the first half of OUR season to the second half of OUR season: not with the schedules of other teams. There wasn't any woe is me about it--I didn't post that our schedule was any harder than other team's schedules, just that it was a little out of balance and that might be why we appear to be gang-busters in the beginning of seasons, and seem to fall apart at the end of seasons. You'll also notice that I said that this did not excuse the poor play in the second half. I'm not even arguing that the records would have been different: just that the seasons might have had a different feel to them even with the same records.

Look at 2006 as an example. Which would be less painful: going 4-4 in both halves of the season, reversing the halves, or what actually happened? All three outcomes would have resulted in 8-8, but the first two scenarios would sure have been less of a downer, and going 6-2 in the second half would have actually been exciting.Yes, a few wins here and there would change some of the percentages a little, but it still wouldn't get them below .500 or anywhere near the first half of the seasons.

You know what? I made a point in the OP to mention that Dallas and NE really skewed the percentage in 2007; and didn't try to hide the fact that during the season with the biggest disparity (2008) we went 5-3. Obviously, I'm not making an argument that this is the only reason it's happening, or holding the players and coaches blameless. So how exactly am I making an excuse?

I think an 8-8 team is painful. Period. And having a cake schedule in the second half of the season sometimes sets up disappointment and embarassing failure...Just ask Jim Fassel  .

  14. I'm not going to compare Suh to Tuck physically......Tuck is injured, and Suh is a fucking beast.

But even though the guy is going to face a suspension, I'll take Suh's "dirty" attitude over the Stuart Smalley shit I've been hearing and seeing from Tuck and his teammates.

You think for a second Suh wouldn't have laid someone the fuck out last night?

A loss is a loss, but that was abject humiliation last night.....and for the 2nd week in a row, the G-Men rolled over like bitches and took it.

You Giants fans are tough. Suh's dirty attitude and irresponsible antics could cost his team a playoff birth, or at the very least, a trip to Texas instead of a home game.

The Giants couldn't compete on any level with the Saints. Tuck would have looked like a fool, similar to the way Brandon Jacobs looked with his endzone antics when he he narrowed the game to a mere 11.

  15. I don't think anyone is jumping ship. Was I and the rest of the people here incredibly disappointed and pissed off about the Giants effort last week against Philly? Yeah, absolutely they missed a big opportunity. The Giants need to play perhaps their best game of the year tonight to beat the Saints in their building. They aren't unbeatable though. As for the Eli reference, he is one player on the team that I'm not worried about.

Exactly. Which is why I expected this place to be buzzing with activity. But its good to hear that most of you have the resolve to stick with your team. :flex:

  16. One can only imagine what Chad has gone through to get to this point- a 4.8 40.......WOW

Those 48 guys out there tonight can give it everything they have to beat the Saints

and the coaches can come out of their 3 game coma and coach their rear ends off

otherwise I'm looking to next year......I could not bear an embarrasment tonight.....I want to see the opposite

even worse would be another game ending futile pass where we could have tied or won.....3 of our 4 losses this year were excruciatingly close to victories....don't want to see that either

This team needs to rise up tonight and play like GIANTS.....I'm nervous

Nah...you're not looking to next year just yet.

Never fear, they'll dangle a carrot this week or next.

I think it will be another friend from the NFC East officially lowering the boom this season.

  17. If they split New Orleans and Green Bay the Giants will be in great shape. I just want them to play hard and play inspired football. These are two good teams coming up just execute and minimize the penalties and turnovers.

I could honestly see them winning one of the next two and if it results in Superfan putting the tights and cape back on I'm all for it. Afterall, Gotham City just isnt the same without him.

  18. Their respective talents are obvious.

And every season starts with high hopes, and the familiar refrain: THIS will be the year they each apply themselves fully.

But sadly, as the holidays approach, they both disappear......Romo from the playoff stage, and BadEgg, striking his colors and running from some mid-season boast.

But right now, it's late November, so they are both the talk of the town. Enjoy them while you still see them!

Sorry Joe, but the plan is different this Holiday season. Here it is:

    1) Demarco Murray continues to give Romo something he has never really had: a legitimate running game.

    2) The Cowboys win a couple they should win, get a little lucky along the way, and go to the Superbowl.

    3) In the 4th quarter of a tight Superbowl game, Jessie Holley catches an desperate, errant Romo pass with his facemask, setting up the game winning score.

    4) Holley disappears in the offseason and is never heard from again.

    5) Cowboy nation declares Romo "elite", throws a parade and a message board lovefest, and blames the offensive coordinator and the WR for every errant future throw.

Sound good? I am quite comfortable with this plan because it is a proven blueprint for success.

  19. :Smiley_StirringShit: <---not really, but what a great smiley

Anyway, there's been many reasons, varying over the years as to why we've done poorly during the second half of seasons in the Coughlin era: injuries, poor coaching, poor execution. But there is one factor that has been absolutely consistent: the strength of schedule in the second half of the season has increased over the first half of every year since 2005, in some seasons, dramatically.

2005: .461--.523 5-3 12% increase(I'm not sure how we did this considering our LBs at the end of the season)

2006: .484--.555 2-6 13% increase(our de's were devastated that year, last year of Tim Lewis and Hufnagel)

    2007: .446--.586 4-4 24% increase(might have been 5-3 if Gilbride didn't inexplicably decide to pass 53 times during a wind-storm against Washington)

    2008: .395--.610 5-3 35% increase(um...yeah...and that is also the season we began 7-1)

    2009: .477--.594 3-5 19% increase(Sheridan, CC Brown, and no defense)

    2010: .422--.484 4-4 13% increase

    totals:.447--.558 23-25 19% increase

Ugh. Look at that average winning percentage over the years for the second half of the season: .558. A 19% increase on average from the first half of the season. And we have a first half schedule that is below .500 every season.

Keep in mind that in 2007, we played the Pats and Dallas in the second half of the season, both losses. The rest of that 2nd half of the season, we went 4-2 against teams with a .479 average. Those two teams had an insane .902 average.

This also shows why last year seemed so unsatisfying. It was clearly the easiest schedule we've had in quite some time, and that's what made all the blown games all the more galling.

This season? As of this morning:

    .384--.623 0-2 38% increase

Obviously, that's going to change, since I doubt GB stays at 1.000, Buffalo and the Jets are both .500 and playing today, and God knows what will happen this season.

The take-away? We're not nearly as bad as our second-half of the season record implies; and not as good as those 6-2 starts seem to show. And we would probably feel a lot better about the Coughlin era if our schedules were more balanced.

Balanced? You'd probably feel a lot better about the Coughlin era if they beat more good teams, whether they appeared in the first half of the season or the second half. :o

In fact, you'd probably feel better if they actually won playoff games aside from the miracle run, helmed by the dearly departed Spagola and Strahan.

And I must be God, because as far as the rest of the season goes, at best it's one and done. Most likely -- watching the Cowboy games in January.

Official nail in the coffin # 1: New Orleans 34 Giants 17

  20. Eli deserves just as much credit for the loss as anyone else. Two weeks in a row, the ball was in his hands at the end of the game...

And both times, these awful WR's whom most NFL commentators and coaches seem to think are pretty good, NEVER HAD AN OPPORTUNITY to make a play because their QB couldn't deliver the ball.

Last week, it was deflected. Few QB's have had more deflections (one cost them the game in Washington earlier this year) than Eli.

Last night, he fumbled. Forget about the o-line. At that stage of the game, with that much time on the clock, you need to protect the ball and live to fight another play.

And the interceptions the last 2 weeks -- God awful.

Eli is not bad QB by any means. But why everyone wants to pamper this guy is beyond me.

He's been in the league what? Eight years? Time to take the diaper off...
