  1. If you watched the two "America's Game" on he Giants...one thing...in both seasons becomes apparent....they seem to be adversity junkies....they dig being shit on and counted out..they play harder....when they aren't discounted, when they are given respect...they appear to get that vibe that they can win just by tossing their jocks on the field.

The line will come together....the secondary will straighten out....and they will be over 500 by December...and if they are healthy....they will go on another run...if they aren't.... then they will either collapse outright

    These guys are pretty predictable.

Analysis of the game from a dude over at the EMB:

"Pretty typical. Giants fell flat when it didn't matter most, and Romo did well when it matters least."

  2. One year we don't win it'll be nothing. After the second year you'll start hearing the "when will it be ok to criticize Coughlin again?" rumblings. Third year the "now he's really old and out of touch and needs to go" begins. Fourth year against that backdrop, we win. Feb, 7 2016....Eli, Tuck, Coughlin (and Tynes) ride off into the sunset.

    Book it.

  3. Relax, bro. I'm talking about how we completely ignore positions every season and completely forget to resign our own players every year. We are very lucky that it has never hurt us yet. Because it will.

I wasn't after you. I just for some reason got riled up at the non-Giants fans who discredit the teams achievements.

Sorry if I gave off the impression I was going at you.

  4. Are you sure we had a losing season in Coughlin's 1st year? I can swear we've been 8-8 or better since Eli was drafted.. which I thought was the same year Coughlin was hired.

Positive...we went 6-10. Coughlin handed the reigns over to Eli at 5-4. Since then we haven't had a losing season and have won more than 10 games 4 times.

  5. Luck shmuck...

We've had one losing season in the Coughlin era, and that was in his first year, and what that means is that we've consistently put ourselves in a position to win. The "luck" has gone against us just as often as it has gone for us. People are very quick to take our SB's away from us on account of the "luck" that helped us get there. Screw that. No one awarded us anything in 08' when our 11-1 team went to hell on account of the "bad luck" of Plaxico shooting himself. No one gave us a get in the playoffs free card in 2010 when we were 10-6 and were almost 11-5 if not for a crazy 4th quarter meltdown and miracle play. (Did we let the Eagles win!!!??? ) Twas just "bad luck" that 10-6 wasn't good enough for the playoffs that year. I mean seriously. Are people that blind? This team is very competitive every single year. Sometimes things break for us, sometimes they break against us, that's just the way it goes.

In my best Joe Beningo, "Stop it". This team has shown it's capable of dancing with any team in this league on any stage, home or away (well except the Saints in the dome :furious:). Respect it, or reveal your ignorance/bitterness/hate.

    That is all.

  6. I would have rather resigned Aaron Ross than messed with 6 DTs that won't be making the team.

Regardless of being a profitable organization, there are still cap issues. At least, cap issues is what I'm assuming led to us signing 2 players in free agency and not resigning any of our own.

These guys we're signing for a few weeks and cutting don't count against the cap.

Well not unless we'd pay them enough to make them one of the 51 highest salaries on the team, which we obviously aren't.

  7. Don't feel bad I was stumped helping my lil nephew who lives in TN (over the phone) do his math homework. What's 1.25 - 25? And while I knew the answer I couldn't articulate the method for him to solve it... till he realized I'd the 2nd worst migraine headache this year and I'd just taken the dreaded Maxalt pill... I simply couldn't focus.

Yup it's a foggy unfocused morning for me today....saw a jokey discussion about scoring and scoring not adding up and decided to make a joke about Tynes stinking and Gilly's propensity for the Danny Ware draw play...didn't really focus on exactly what numbers were said or what the problem was....

  8. Kerry Collins was a long trip down a blind alley...........the worst clutch QB in NFL history..........Kerry had nerves of glass

Ok, so let's say he wasn't clutch, that's a flaw. I didn't say Collins was flawless, nor that he was awesome or outstanding or anything like that, but he was MILES ahead of Brown, Kannell, and Graham. And his addition completely changed the landscape of that team.

  9. it is not.......take a look at Danny's records

Had Ernie not had a brain fahrdt and brought in Lurch, Danny's early Giants career was actually better than Eli's

Wait what am I supposed to be looking at the anemic completion percentage, the anemic yards per attempt or the anemic QB rating?

And PS Kerry Collins was the best thing to happen to the Giants in that era.

  10. It was a joke.....Jesse was a favorite of mine who was only allowed to start in the games Fassel was told to lose on purpose to get a shot at Manning

Johnny Lynn was photocopying the D game plans and just changing the opponent names......you do not remember that?

Jesse was let go for appearing as the Bachelor (Tom was still a Nazi at this point), and almost winning one of those poison games single handed

Am I to imply from this that Danny Kannell at #9 is actually not a joke?

  12. CC's only put together one full season with an ERA under 3...great pitcher but not HOF material, IMO. I mean not that his stats couldn't hold up to some of the guys in the hall but when you compare him to other guy's who'll be going in soon, like Maddux, Glavine, Pedro, and Randy Johnson, he's not even in the same stratosphere. He's the type of guy who might get in on an off year when they have no one who truly deserves to be there but they have to put someone in

  13. Martellus Bennett on why Eli Manning isn't at all like a wife and what Eli prefers for dinner ... "He’s easy to talk to," Bennett said. "Just ask him what he wants. Sometimes like your wife, you never know what she wants. You ask and she’s like “Well, I don’t want chicken.” You’re like “Well, do you want steak?” She’s like, “No, I don’t want steak.” … You know, Eli knows if he wants chicken or steak."
