  1. He's played great this season and is showing the kind of consistency on a week to week basis that is expected of a CB taken in the first round. Sometimes, people need to withhold judgement while a player is battling the injury bug at the same time he is adjusting to the NFL as a rookie. The kid can play some corner.

And making two of his first three appearances ever against the Packers and Saints.

  2. Yeah, I have no complaints, even their red zone attempts, at least they stayed consistent and didn't make any stupid decisions, though the Carlos Rogers dropped pick could have been disastrous, I liked that they kept putting up points, but we need to get into the end zone on at least one of those inside the 10 drives....

Would have definitely liked to see more on 3rd down from the team, especially in the red zone but it seemed the Giants came in with the goal not to turn the ball over getting overly aggressive.

Buried in all the goodness of this game was that Eli didn't have a real good second half. He was pretty erratic and just kinda off on his throws. I don't have the numbers but I'm positive his second half numbers were terrible.

  3. I'm not gonna even pretend I don't wanna say it....I told you so.

Sole possession of the East :D

BG, you outta get in here for some crow serving. (Btw, I honestly think you have a slightly skewed view of the Giants from our games with the Eagles. You guys are straight up in our heads and give us more problems than anybody. We play better against pretty much everyone else.)

Now, can I please stop hearing about the Niners and the zillion points they scored against dysfunctional teams, and Alex Smith's pretty passer rating???

  4. "Kevin Gilbride's outrageous, irrational statement regarding Justin Smith's play is, first, an absurd analogy," Harbaugh said. "Second, it is an incendiary comment targeting one of the truly exemplary players in this league. It's obvious that the Giants coaching staff's sole purpose is to use their high visibility to both criticize and influence officiating."

Wow what an emotional outburst. Gilly wins this one.

He's actually calling out the "getting away with murder" analogy? lol

  5. That's a given. And honestly, I'm not drinking the 9ers kool aide I just don't see how your D is going to stop their assault. Your D tends to over persue and that's just an open lane for Gore to exploit. As I said above, the G-men don't have anyone in the secondary to stop him if he hits 4th gear.

Wasn't referring to you with the over-hyping. Nothing wrong with your prediction. Was just referring to the media, who I think are overblowing the Niners big time after the last two weeks.

  6. to add to your argument, an under achieving Packer and Lions team.

However, all they can do is beat the teams on the schedule. And they've done it convincingly.

Although I think the Jets quit in 2nd half.

Believe me I respect them a ton. Anyone who bit their knuckles through that NFC championship game walked away with a huge sense of respect for them. I just think that even with all that said they're being overhyped at the moment.

  7. Cool story bro.

Don't worry the subsequent Giant collapse is also in the rule book, along with the Eagles being right there to torment us at the end and Romo having a torrid and ultimately meaningless December.

    Can't wait for Sunday.

  8. I think people are blowing the Niners WAY out of proportion. And I acknowledge fully that they are a truly excellent, physical and just all around pretty awesome team. But that just highlights how much they are being blown out of proportion. They're being portrayed as like the 07' Patriots. It's silly.

Am I supposed to be quaking in my boots because they just blew out the Jets and Bills respectively? I mean, I know we've yet to beat a relevant team but what reactionism. Am I supposed to be intimidated that they hung 45 on the Bills? Really? The JETS hung 48 on the Bills.

Again, they're an awesome team, with an awesome and intimidating defense and an awesome running game but let's hold off with the "They're an unbeatable machine" kool-aid.

  9. Jack I don't the Cowboys are in our head at all.

I think the Eagles are pretty much the only team in our heads. I think we're in the Cowboys, Patriots and Packers heads, and the Jets as well but in a completely different way.

NEW YORK (AP) -- The NFL has warned teams that it won't tolerate confrontational behavior toward replacement officials.

NFL.com said on Thursday night that senior league officials called owners, general managers and coaches from all 32 teams to tell them that respect for the game demands better on-field behavior.

NFL executive vice president Ray Anderson singled out Monday night's game for having examples of ''unacceptable behavior.''

He didn't specify which incidents in the Atlanta Falcons' victory over Denver crossed the line, but Broncos coach John Fox and defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio both had heated arguments with officials.

Anderson said, ''We're not going to tolerate it.''

He said flags, fines and suspensions are possible for coaches or players who crossed the line.

The NFL locked out the regular officials in June and contract negotiations have broken down.

I'm a little concerned about this. I get that the replacement refs are getting the substitute teacher treatment, but I don't like the NFL going down this path, lest we end up like the NBA, where they have instituted the most illogical and impracticle rules for how you are allowed to react to things. It's always refreshing to watch an NFL game and see a guy be able to scream in frustration at a call or play that didn't go his way. I'm concerned that once this becomes a part of the game it will continue even when the regular refs come back. Can you imagine if that play where Bennett's helmet was ripped off was an offsetting penalty because Bennett was furious and hurled an f-bomb the refs way? That's what it's like today in the NBA and it's completely out of control.

Secondly, can the NFL even do this? Is there an existing rule concerning behavior toward officials that they are just threatening to enforce more expansively or are they inventing such a penalty? Because I'm pretty sure there's a rules committee and a process for this and the league office can't just make up new penalties. I know there's a rule about touching officials, but I've never seen anyone flagged for arguing too much etc..What's the deal?
