  7. I cringe at the thought of our bread and butter getting injured, I am aware that he needs to get some touches in order to get used to the contact and knock off some cobwebs. Just play smart and don't pull a "Portis". Let me know what you think.?
  8. I know that this game was not supposed to mean much, but after watching the first team on both deff. and off. I am truley worried that this team will not be made fools of by oppsing teams exploiting our weaknesses. Our team showed very little intensity, and it was proven (to me) that the big blue has more problems than they would like to admit. It hurts me to think this way. Maybee they will show us something different against the chiefs.
  9. The views from espn on the importance of our needs: OUTSIDE LB: The jury is still out on whether Reggie Torbor will ever realize his potential. Although he has played well at times, he is inconsistent. The bigger concern is on the strong side. Carlos Emmons, who turns 33 this year, has lost a step and is coming off a season-ending pectoral injury. With unrestricted free agent Nick Greisen wanting to play inside and likely signing with another team, there isn't much depth here either. The Giants need an outside linebacker who has the speed, athletic ability and power to supplant Emmons as the starter. That would allow him to move into a backup role where he would provide quality depth. WR : Plaxico Burress' first season with the Giants was the second most productive of his career and he returns as Eli Manning's go-to-receiver. There are concerns about the No. 2, however. Although Amani Toomer runs good routes and doesn't drop many passes, he isn't as explosive as he was earlier in his career and has problems consistently separating from man coverage. There is good depth here but Jamaar Taylor drops too many passes and Tim Carter is too raw to replace Toomer at this point. As a result, the Giants need a receiver who has the size, burst and athletic ability to make an immediate impact. DT : Kendrick Clancy's decision to sign with Arizona makes this a far greater need. Clancy didn't make many big plays, but he was relentless and, more importantly, consistent. Although William Joseph has far more natural ability, he doesn't always play with a mean streak and has yet to realize his potential. Exasperating the loss of Clancy is the fact that Fred Robbins, who has had problems keeping his weight down, tends to wear down over the course of games. The Giants need a defensive tackle who can replace Robbins, allowing him to move into a situational run-stuffing role. OFFENSIVE TACKLE: Luke Petitgout has avoided becoming a cap casualty, but he will have to compete for a starting job opposite Kareem McKenzie. Although he is a technician who plays with good intensity, Petitgout has been slowed by back pain and is having problems holding up on an island in pass protection. Bob Whitfield and Lewis Kelly provide some depth. However, Whitfield isn't an every-down player at this point of his career and Kelly's lack of strength is reason for concern. The Giants need to add a tackle who can push Petitgout for playing time. RB : Few players do as much for a team as Tiki Barber does for the Giants. He is a smart, between-the-tackles runner, has the burst to break long runs and catches the ball extremely well. However, he is undersized and 31 years old. That has to raise concerns about his durability, especially since he gets so many touches. Brandon Jacobs is a powerful short-yardage runner, but he lacks the initial burst of an every-down back. The Giants need to start preparing for life after Barber and improve depth by adding a developmental back who has the tools to replace Barber when the time comes. Other options: Interior offensive line and cornerback
  10. "I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he will answer every question with "Next Question!""
  11. Who is Lavar suiting up for this year? Packers? Thanx.
  12. Joe was the MAN....!!!! If you don't remember him out there "flexin'" then ignore this post. For me, he signafied true smashmouth GIANTS football that I truley love.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Joe!
  13. What we need is to change up the playbook a little... Hell maybe even throw a trick play in there once in a while(I know this won't happen). But it's gotta be tough knowing that you have got the most predictable offensive in the league. Change it up.!
  14. I posted this same topic on the GIANTS board so if you allready saw it- Ohh well. I notice everyone is still killing the LB toppic and frankly I'm getting sick of it. :brooding: Unless that Linebacker is able to stuff the line off the snap, we deff. need a stud to plug the middle and give that inside pressure on the opposing QB. Especialy with the way our division has added all of the recieving threats. We have deff. got arguably the toughest division in the NFL in great part to the signings of some nice recievers. Now, as any fool knows- if given enough time any reciever will get open. I know we made some needed improvements in our defensive backield and I am very confident in the talent back there. The two best bookends pressuring the opp. QB is nice , but if we had that added pressence in the middle, I don't think any offense could compete with us!! Now let's get serious and talk about "REAL" needs. Our LB's will be just fine without an Arrington or any other high priced addition. WE NEED A STUD AT DT. Let me know what your "brilliant" reasons are for why another position is more important. "The toughest scedule " MEANS NOTHING TO GIANTS LIKE US. GO BLUE.
  15. I think Proehl wou;d be usefull on this team for a year, or maybee even two.
  16. It's not like that five dollars is going to make much difference- concidering that I ussualy end up paying about one hundred extra a ticket anyway. By the time I shell out the money for my broke friends' tickets, paking, food, BEER, sometimes a telli'.... I mean realy five bucks ain't sh*t. I hope they re-surface the parking lot(s) with this money.
  17. Like I said on the other board, Bavaro was the toughest S.O.B. to ever grace the Meadowlands. He was simply a man amungst boys out there....
  18. I'm stoked... . I missed my chance last year. I also entered the 5k race. I think this is gonna be exelent. I'll walk around ON Giants field! Heck after they see me smoke everyone in the race, they will sign me to the pradice squad! Anyway have you done this ? It's only the 4th year . I'm ready...
  19. Tim Carter def. needs to be a factor. Why is he not used much anyway? Blazing quickness & decent hands- - I don't get it.
