Major League Baseball officials say the Final Vote count in each league is too close to call, and what that means is that Mets fans still have a chance to add a seventh Met to the National League All-Star team roster.
Billy Wagner is one of five National League players involved in the Monster 2006 All-Star Final Vote. The Mets closer was included last year as well, when his former Astros teammate Roy Oswalt won a place on the National League roster. Wagner was added later after Pedro Martinez withdrew.
Fans have until 6 p.m. ET Thursday to vote for the final player on the National League team.
Now in its fifth year, the Monster 2006 All-Star Final Vote gives baseball fans around the world the opportunity to select the final player on each All-Star team. Balloting began immediately following Sunday's Major League All-Star Selection Show presented by Chevrolet. The winners will be announced on ESPN and MLB.com shortly thereafter.
