  1. rubbish. this is woe is me bullshit.

good teams want to play the best. good teams show up to play the best. and good teams do not get sucked into playing down to an inferior opponents level.

you turn some of those late season losses into late season wins and then it would OBVIOUSLY skew the percentages of your experiment.

  2. i'd pass around a bottle of midol if i were you cats. one month you're destined for greatness, the next you're looking like you were pretenders all along.

same in the preseason. SUPERBOWL.....aiiiii 7-9......yay oh SUPERBOWL AGAIN!..... and so on

flippity floppity while interestingly enough, it's playing out like most (experts) thought it would. giants 5-3 or 6-2 before a big crash and burn in the real meat of their schedule.

btw i heard a nasty rumor that the giants great defense of so many first round picks is ranked 27th in scoring defense???? what?????

and all you cats giggled at me when i said rob ryan would change the Cowboys D for the better. :)

  3. the rotting sweet stench of a decaying franchise.

    doesn't look good gint fan.

as much as I've heard gint fan use injuries as an excuse for poor performance, one would think the offseason conditioning would've been taken a little more seriously.

losing to wash isn't the end of the world, but it does make a good start to the end.

looks like many here are singing a different song than they were just a few months ago. big jim i'm lookin at you.

    :LMAO:

  4. I hope you go 0-16.

let blunytic know he can have his house back.

if the boyz don't win a title, i'll be back to eat some crow.

if we do, just take comfort in knowing i'm a happier person than you.

    it's been real (entertaining)

  5. No, he kicked a line drive punt to the league's best returner with 8 seconds left. Weren't you watching the game?

sure, i watched your defense fold. 11 guys. and your offense shut down like closin time. 11 guys.

then i saw 11 guys fail to tackle jackson.

but hey, dodge is an easy target. he only has one job.

nevermind it took collossal failure from the rest of the team to set him up for collossal failure.

but the good news. no changes. coughlin is still captain of the leaky ship.

  6. Very true. And Coughlin kind of threw Dodge under the bus for that one, with his, "Durr, I told him not to kick it to dat dere Jackson fella!!!!"

But as far as the field position game went throughout the year, Dodge and the special teams as a unit definitely did drop the ball in several games. It's hard to say how many games could have been won with better special teams, but it is safe to say they didn't help WIN any games, lol.

    lol can't argue with that

  7. I have had time to think about it and I am redacting my previous statement. Now where is my big black sharpie. :P

lol. that's all i'm saying. you guys felt a lot differently at the moment than you do years later.

what you were feeling then was honest, what youre feelin now is defensive and speculative

  8. Even IF you think that one play is a flue.. and discount how our DL was cuddling with Brady all game long... you have to give us the fact that we went to Dallas... smashed their hopes and dreams.. and got a protrait of Jerry's face that's just priceless.. and even then we had to go to GB and win an epic game. Agreed?

first, i never discounted your defense. they won the game imo, and the more i dig around here, i've found that's a popular opinion.

the dallas game, a heartbreaker for sure, but not the topic of discussion, unless youre saying it was a fluke as well.

  9. my point.

    lone wolf then:

    The Miracle.

Really what happen nothing short of a miracle. Eli slipping away from 3 defenders in what looked like a sure sack (my heart dropped). Then actually finding Tyree. Tyree jumping and having Harisson trying strip it so that it ends up on his helmet. Then falling on Harrison's legs so that he is just enough off the ground so it doesn't touch making no controversy at all (not even a challenge). It's fucking unbelievable really.

    and lone wolf now:

Exactly but really it's a matter of semantics. People miss-use words all the time and it's definitely not a miracle or a fluke either. Immaculate reception could be defined as a miracle because Harris was not the intended receiver and was just lucky (whether it hit the ground or not) to be where a very unpredictable ball bounced. Manning was obviously trying to avoid a sack and intentionally threw the ball to Tyree. Just because Harrison was tackling him while he made the catch and he held it against his helmet hardly makes it a miracle. Great desperation completed play and amazing acrobatic catch sure but hardly godsend.

  10. So, the records dont mean shit, because we were in the same boat at years end. Dont you think the same could be said for your assessment above? You got rid of Phillips (the skipper) and still nothing is guaranteed and you still missed the playoffs last yr.

we're in the same boat. that boat is the s.s. missedtheplayoffs.

it's not a good boat to be in, hence the much needed changes

youre in the boat, and your front office seems content to be there.

  11. I call bullshit. These aren't experts, just people with opinions. Get in line.

Wonder is looking at Prince Amukamara as a top 10 pick and he went at 19. He is not Darrell Revis but he might be just like any other CB drafted this year.

Pete, never watched a game Prince Amukamara played in; simply doing his review based on statistics.

Bill Parcell's confidential draft? Hell didn't even bother with doing the statistics, nevermind watching the games.

Their opinion holds as much weight as mine. IMO, I have no idea until I see him on the field.

Jerry Reese also had an opinion on Prince Amukamara, the deciding one and believes the Giants drafted an excellent corner to add to our secondary.

i recommend their blog to everyone here. it's objective and no sugar coating, from diehard gint fans.

they've got a bead on the nfc east for damn sure. they also have an iphone app available

    here's their history.

    Wonder

A certified Jets fanatic, Wonder hails from the Bronx and now resides in Vegas. The Giants are his #2 team, but the rest of us should be lucky enough to know as much about football with our #1 as Wonder does for all the rest. His knowledge of the NFL is unsurpassed. The unofficial UltimateNYG guru, he has a beat on EVERY SINGLE TEAM IN THE NFL. Wonder has a keen eye for evaluating talent and is brutally honest about grading out coaches, players and prospects for the NFL. This site is fortunate to have him share his wisdom with us on a semi-regular basis.

    Peter Scott Furman

Pete has been passionate about football his whole life. He played Varsity football all the way through college and then hung up his spikes. His team has always been the N.Y. Football Giants. Born and raised in the NY Metropolitan area, he's a passionate college football fan who presently lives in Atlanta, GA. Pete was a game scout for the Raiders for 15 years. Al Davis would send someone to every N.F.L. game each weekend of the NFL Season. His purpose was to stay current on who played well and who did not. Pete supplied injury reports, potential trade information and gave Davis updates on ex-Raider players. Now writing for UltimateNYG, he gets to do his first love, Sports Journalism.

  12. No our boat had a winning record

yes it worked out better for the cowboys don't you think?

we managed to get rid of the biggest problem on the team over the last few years.

while the gints did just good enough to retain the master of the late season collapse and all of his crew.

btw that winning record will get you a cup a coffee, assuming you have a buck to pay for it.

  13. So is my younger bro. But he's one of those guys that only watch certain games or if theyre in the playoffs. Cant name you the whole squad or anything. Likes the neat jerseys and hats they sell and has a dallas cowboy cheerleader calendar.

You know, the typical cowboy fan. :smartass:

those aren't typical. in fact right now all those guys are exclusively mavericks fans.

  14. Good point. When I switched stats to the postseason, big difference. Depends on what we're talking here. Reg. season or postseason.

i would agree with putting peyton on that list.

ofcourse now it's a very, short list.

  15. That's an asinine statement.

yes in a world where the scoreboard doesn't matter, and ypg, most sacks, and fumbles wins a game.

since 2000 alone 3 teams have won games with a -5 turnover differential.

the point stands. if you don't convert those turnovers into points, it doesn't equate to a victory.

  16. The Bears beat the Packers the week prior to the game in which we pummeled them. Doesn't matter though, last year was last year. I'm looking forward to a new season, if we have one.

youre right. that doesn't matter. dry.gif

  17. LMAO... watch out, don't want to trip over something when you're doing all that back tracking. Look at that list again, apparently you believe in coincidences. Or you think that average QB's would've taken those teams just as far?

ah haha what's next jimmy? "i know you are but what am i?"

what am i 'back tracking' on? hell i'm not even sure what that means.

there's about 4 on your list who aren't 'championship caliber' qb's, who won with defense. go back another 20 years and there'll be even more.

now, answer my question. which one's on your list did it without a good defense?

  18. Cowboyz... just as a reminder, you are arguing our defense sucked. You are not arguing turnover differentials. You're seriously arguing with me about a game where the offense gave the ball away FIVE times that the defense cost us the game? Hmmmm? You do understand opportunity cost, correct?

Last time... if Eli puts his team at the opponent's 5 yard line and throws a 101 yard interception return for a TD by Brian McCann, is that a 7 point swing or a 14 point swing? Opportunity cost, now, think real hard like.

it doesn't matter if you turn the ball over 15 times if it doesn't equate to points on the board.
