  1. we all know people say stupid things on MBs, for instances, you always said jesse palmer should be our starter. where is jesse palmer starting nowadays?

You've always said that some backup should replace our starters. even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile

is it your impression jesse got a fair shot in real meaninful games?

  2. Actually early on GMB posters were ridiculing the pick of Tuck

downplayed Notre Dame, said we had Strahan what did we need a DE for (they are a bright bunch over there)

I said year 1 he looked pro bowl bound and the crows laughed and laughed

maybe you were cheering Tuck but not many were

It was when Tuch chased down Tomlinson from behind that the smirks were wiped off a lot of faces

I got the same thing I hear about Blackburn (hes strictly a special teams guy) LOL!!!

  3. Jack- I don't think you're a troll but come on now- don't pull the nazi stuff- it's so message board cliche.

the very definition of totalitarian extremism is you agree with the party line or your out

or in some cases worse, much worse

I dance to my own drummer......because the NY Post (or you) likes Strahan and Pierce does not mean I share thier view

I have my own favorites, and you can start with Justin Tuck who I predicted Pro Bowl as a D lineman when he was only on special teams (he destroyed people on KOffs)......not only that he showed incredible speed and strength and mental toughness

at the time on the GMB people called me nuts.......who is laughing now

I've always thought starters were 80% deserving and there were 20% who had free agent or draft contracts that management just could not sit due to addmission of guilt

  4. I honestly think that the people that are annoyed at this thread are not so much having a problem with your posts in the thread, as much as the thread title itself. I still can't figure out, nor have you explained how the teams troubles in the LAST 5 games of last season has anything to do with the amazing superbowl run the team went on the year before. The superbowl team played lights out football in the playoffs, then continued to roll of a fantastic record until the end of the next year, mainly when the 2 new starting defensive ends wore down (which first time starters always do) the defensive tackles got busted up, and the teams big play threat was eliminated from the equation. What does that have to do with the shiny new trophy in the trophy case from the prior season??

perhaps the title does not quite convey my true thinking

I thought we were on the way to a 4-5 year run

I'm not so sure now.......we might be headed back to extreme mediocity.......I'm not sure

we are at a cross roads

  5. The next big item is the draft, and I'm hoping we grab Laurenitis or Cushing at LBer

Then a WR....I think our O'line could use some depth too

we have 11 or 12 picks this year, and Reese already said he would prefer not to pick 11.......frankly I think he should have at it. He is very good in the draft. Free agents are like used cars. Someone is selling them for a reason.

I imagine he might be packaging a few draft selections for a WR if Burress gets the book thrown at him on Mar 31st.

  6. I guess to some sensitive souls, anyone who disagrees with them, or does not worship players they worship is a troll

That's a narrow viewpoint, and if it were allowed to take control would lead to ta totalitarian board

I'm sure all the Nazi's in Germany thought they were right and the rest of the world should be "banned"....in modern times you have all kinds of extremist groups, and some countires who follow tha old nazi path

If you want to talk old boards. the original giants board was wide open, and a ton on fun until some people could not resist taking it to the limit, and the fist came down .......whiping the current events board away altogether, and eventually making he Giants section a closely monitored bore

  7. This is why I stopped responding to most threads...douchebags like JackStroud made the other MB a waste. I was Tony still had his site up, it was nice not having to deal with this stuff.

My only advice, don't respond to Jack's threads...they only exist to keep existing....and they are the same one's over and over again. :brooding:

Glad you two found each other.......just proves there is someone for everyone

and it took one of my posts to get you together....awesome

  8. I hate to be interrupted during my annual winter hybernation, but I want to set the record straight. Regardless of what Jack and the Italian Hotdog may or may not be up to around here these days, I can assure the good board that:

    1) I am not Jack and he is not me.

    2) I am not Dog and he is not me.

I remember Jack from when I was on the original Giants message board. It's good to see him here. I thought Jack was a good poster for the most part but he is way off base on this post.

Jack, the Giants Superbowl run was not a Fluke. The Giants Superbowl run was based on sound defense, superior defensive game planning and coaching and, most importantly, improbable magic. :yahoo:

Enjoy the rest of your winter.

Hey BadEgg hows it going? Too bad about T.O. but there is something to be said for a little less talent and more team rapore

I hope you guys have a great draft, and give us a run for our money this year. Nothing like a the NFC East rivalries and ours in particular. Good luck with your new home.

Right now, based upon our late season swoons I'd say both teams have a lot to prove in 2009.

  9. Same old Jack. Too bad your bromance with Jesse Palmer had to end before he accomplished all of the great things you claimed he was capable of. Pssst....btw Kerry Collins is still playing. lmao

Yeah Kerry is still playing but he's more like an Earl Morrall now......he in there to not lose, not to win

Kerry throws a nice spiral.....I'll give you that, but the titans are going nowhere with Kerry at the helm

they know that, you know that........even Kerry knows that

Vince Young= Donovan McNabb Jr........very Jr too bad he was good at Texas

  10. You see Jack, there is a thing called critical mass or you might know something similar called "the straw that broke the camel's back".

The signings this off season have already shown us the root of the problem at the end of last year, not getting to opposing QB's and a worn down D-line.

When that happens, it never feels right!

This game is won in the trenches and the Giants will own them this year.

    Mark my words!

I could not agree with you more.....the trenches make all other things possible, and easier if your dominant

Maybe our Oline wore down a bit last year too, Eli seemed to be under more durress as the season wore on, and the running game struggled a bit other than Carolina

  11. Not like a cheap suit, but more like a team that lost their leading game changing WR at the most inopportune time. It screwed up our chemistry. Still, after that, we managed to secure the 1st seed and nearly beat a playoff team in Minnesota with our 2nd and 3rd stringers. Stop your nonsense Jack, it's completely stupid.

losing one guy, unless hes the QB should not be THAT big a deal......good teams can adjust to that

  12. Yeah I'm pretty sure your not a Giants fan.

Maybe thats why they kicked you off the last board.

I think you can be a Giants fan and not be too fond of people like ol GPS. He's a character, I will admit.

Maybe YOUR not a Giants fan, but more an idol worshiper......there are many many Giants players present and past I have a lot of respect for and wish them the best....like the a lot. Contrast a guy like Osi or Kiwi with Strahan.....both are class acts. I dont recall hearing about Osi calling out the HC, feuding with teammates, laughing about team on time rules, or putting GPS devices in his girlfriends car :o)

I'm not to fond of Mike Strahan......deal with it. I wish him well, but something about him gives me the willies.

As for being a Giants fan, my blood runs BLUE.

  13. Oh, you can just fuckin leave now for all I care. Favre flopped, but he had 21 1/2 EARNED sacks to that point. Who says Favre didnt go down cause he knew he was toast anyway? How do you know Strahan wouldnt of got one more after that anyway? (Which Im sure he would have.)

Dont like Strahan........get da fuck outta here!

There was about 50 seconds left in game 16

I don't think he would have gotten another sack

I can like who I want to like.........I like his contemporary Tiki a lot, Strahan I never warmed up to

Gastineau does not have a lot to hold on to, but that record to me is still his

  14. Were you beaten as a child?

No but i can sympathize with his woman problems

tracking them with a GPS is futile though

they are either into you or not.......tracking does not help, just uses up your positive energy

I have not liked the guy since he failed to dis-own the Favre flop..........that's Mark Gastineau's record still as far as i am concerned

as for the GPS system.......under what circumstances should a guy track his woman with GPS? just curious

Mike is funny, but not in a humorous way......if you get my drift

  15. I'm starting to get a feeling this Giants team peaked 14 months ago

Call me crazy if you like....its my opinion

If they get Cushing in the 1st round, Plax gets community service, and Pegleg is sent packing I'll reconsider

Guys we lost 4 out of our last 5 games last year..........get a CLUE

your all still seeing SB stars

We just finished by getting pounded by a 3rd rate playoff team, and Pegleg was the main offender

  16. our WR's seem to be ordinary

we lost our best coach in Spags

    the LBers are horrible

    the safteys are thin

Coughlin does not do it for me

Reese better come up with a WR and another miracle draft

beyond that its time to move Coughlin aside.......we need a younger coach

    Spags would have been perfect

  17. well i guess you never know what we already have if they never get a chance to contribute

isnt that sorta how you felt about palmer and currently do about blackburn

Yes more or less but I did not see much from these guys when they did get a shot when plaxico went down

we need some experience out there

if toomer and plaxico cannot come back holt or harrison would be excellent teachers and might thrive in our offense

frankly i do not consider eli a consistently accurate passer........thats why burress helped so much

he was a huge target with long arms
