  1. Seems like the Yankees score at least 2 runs in the first inning every fucking day. Every game is over by the second inning. :furious:

We are playing some very good baseball right now. 9 in a row and 12 out of 14. Now we need for your guys to go on a 10 game losing streak - maybe lose a key player or 2 and a pitcher or 2 for 3-4 weeks. Quite frankly the Yanks have been winning (up until this streak) with flippin mirrors. I believe they have started 14 different pitchers with 7 of them Rooks.

  2. If the Yankees win this upcoming "Subway Series", I will change my avatar to one that is pro-Yankee for one month, and call all posters who took this wager "my daddies".

I'm looking for Yankee fans to offer the same in return. If the Mets win, you change your avatar to something pro- Met for a month. You don't even have to call me "your daddy".

You have all the advantages. The Yanks are smoking, the Mets are choking. You have the Rocket, the home field, the best player in baseball... but do you have the BALLS????

fefi, I don't have an Avatar but I will call you Uncle if the Mets win the series.

  3. I believe Leonard was taken early in Rd 2. Seriously do we play with a lineman in the backfield and simply expand the plays where we use him. Or something I'm starting to like - play both jacobs and Droughns at the same time. No one really knows which one is getting the ball and the other big fella blocks.

  4. While Ike Hilliard wasn't worth the 7th overall pick, he was a decent player and Giant...he was a good possession wide receiver and I remember him converting a lot of third downs and tough catches, whether you disagree or not, Nem.

Wasn't Ike the one who caught a 4th down pass in the SB and incredibly carried 2 guys for the 1st down? Why are you guys arguing over this? We will all be delighted if Smith turns out as well as Ike and Amani.

Keep in mind he was never the 1st receiver in college

  5. I make a post predicting the Giants battling it out for the basement.

Interestingly, many of the so-called experts are not exactly in love with the Giants right now. Now, I do not put much stock in the "experts." However, it goes to show that I am not alone in my opinion. :worshippy:

So I make my post, and the best that Giants fans come up with is shots at the Cowboys, and shots at me for being a so-called "troll." :blah: This is called avoiding the issue. Conversely, maybe you know what I say is true, and there is no counter-argument. This troll does not know.

And you wonder why I come on once a month and never respond...Do you homers ever post anything that justifies a response?

P.S. You people jumping on the Brandon Jacobs bandwagon cleary do not appreciate what Tiki Barber meant to your franchise. He carried that overrated QB and mediocre offensive line by slipping and cutting through non-existant holes. I can't wait to see Brandon Jacobs try and run on Dallas behind that same sive... And I can't wait to watch Eli try to pass with no running game to speak of...

Boohyah, SUP man? Why are you denigrating my Giants my man? Since I am prolly the oldest fan on the Board, and have been through both the good - my first Championship was in '56 and 2 SB wins. But I have also been through many lean years. I am not overly optimistic about this season but YOU are woefully underestimating Jacobs. I saw him play in college and he was a beast at SIU. Hopefully we'll get him to run a little lower and that will help. Eli - the jury is still out but he has the pedigree and more than once it showed through. I expect this might be a make or break season for him.

So I hope to see you posting more often after all you are my best bud when it comes to Boxing.

  6. I think if there's one position on the team we're set at, it's RB.

Jacobs is going to be a star. He's Larry Johnson with more size and speed.

Droughns is a serviceable backup who's gained 1200 yards each of the last two years. He can get it done in the NFL.

I like the seventh-round guy we went after, too.

We don't need Turner... certainly not for a first and third.

Until Jacobs started playing for the Jints he had a 6.7 ypc in all of his college career. I think he will be a tremendous RB.

  7. I saw the kid play - he is very fun to watch and could be a real find for us. He has quickness and that vision thing that you can't teach so hopefully he will be a good one. I for one - with the exception of OT - think we had a very good draft.

  8. Nas, there is reason to be optimistic, especially in our division. Think about it, what have the Eagles/Cowboys and Skins done this offseason that set's them apart from us next season.........nothing. You can talk superbowl all you want but the division is first and foremost. We can win the division.

I'm telling everyone this, if Eli plays better, we're going to be a much better team.

Absolutely Boohyah, and our running game should be unreal. That should definitely help Eli. You all know we have seen flashes of brilliance from the kid. This year he must be consistent and we will have an outstanding year!

  9. how is it a bad move? you give a player with great potential that hasnt been on the field a chance to make some plays and you fill two holes.

I agree he has tremendous upside and no downside - he is big fast and can cover. We know he can get after the QB so I think it's a good move. Tuck will play alot more this year spelling Osi and Strahan & watch the kid DeOssie. he will become a terrific player IMO. Fastest LB in the draft and the only knock was he played in the Ivy League.

The good news he was a dominant player on a team that had few standouts as I recall so let's give this a wait & see attitude.

  10. Any team that gets Briggs is instantly better. He is one of the top 2 or 3 guys at his position. Draft picks you get a maybe. In Briggs you get an All-Pro.

Hey Jim, how the hell are you? Good to see you on the Board! I agree I lived in the Chicago area, Briggs is a big time player and prolly much of the success that Urlacher gets is because of him.

  11. Sign him and put him where?

It doesn't make sense to replace Toomer with him for a year when you have two WRs drafted in consecutive 2nd rounds waiting. If Toomer is healthy, he deserves a spot, since he's played well for us the past two seasons, at least up until the injury (actually, I think he made a couple plays for us with the injury--he didn't even realize he was injured until the following Monday). That's not even taking into consideration his career here. Besides, if Toomer is too old, why sign a 35 year-old?

You're not getting rid of Tyree, who is great at special teams, and does well when he comes off the bench. He does exactly what we drafted him to do.

Jennings? He barely dressed last year, so why put a 35 year-old at that spot? You might as well put Mix there, keep him off the practice squad, and get him some practice time.

As it is, assuming that Toomer comes back, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jennings gone, and Mix stay on the PS.

Fill me in on MIx I don't recall him.

  12. and miami had the worst draft. on top of the ginn pick they took two centers

I agree. How could they pass on Quinn? They have nothing & write it down Brady Quinn will be a great NFL QB. I like Russel too but I think Quinn is more ready to play in the NFL than anyone. Besides how many times do you throw the ball downfield 80 yards? And who are his receivers? Cleveland had a phenomenal draft IMO. Screw Kipers.

  13. I agree TE needed to be addressed, but another catching TE? Blocking TE is what we needed. I think this pick has a little more to do with being a wake up call to Shockey than you think.

Thumper, I just think it's insurance. Shockey plays hurt and misses lots of time. This kid is extremely athletic, is like 6'7" & can jump 35" and he can run with the ball. I think it was a great pick. If DeOssie played for a major college he'd a been a 1st round pick. I love the kid.
