  1. Let me see if I have this straight: you guys expected offensive tackles, multiple starting linebackers, a complete reworking of the backfield, and a WR. Oh, and DT, and some even wanted a running back. And you expected all this in one offseason?

Meanwhile, even scrub free agents were going between 10-20 million. Did you guys really want to go into hock for Davis? Was Rod Hood worth the price we'd probably have to pay?

We had 8 picks, all 8 made the team. Bradshaw, a 7th rounder, looks really good, with the exception of the fumbling. Smith has looked good. Ross is probably starting at the end of the season, and Alford and DeOssie are contributing, although some improvement is needed there.

Our offensive line hasn't really suffered from the loss of Pettigout.

We have made miserable personnel moves on defense for the better part of this decade. You can count on your hands the number of successful FA pickups and draft choices Accorsi has made on that side of the ball. There was just so much Reese could do with the cards he was dealt.

I think you have most of this right Fish, Accorsi was a terrible GM IMO. My problem with Reese was with not finding a Tackle and LB. Placing your most promising defensive lineman at LB never made alot of sense to me. And he has been lost in coverages.

  2. thanks feefi. Im not sure if the Yanks will get the division, its not as simple as it looks. I think if their was another week in the season theyd get it, but theres just not enought time left, the margin for error is too small. Boston is going to win some games before the season ends. the Yankees would have to go 6-3 and the sox 3-6 in their last nine games for the Yankees to win the division. Its not impossible, but its not probable either. Dont get me wrong, Id love for the yanks to win the division, Im just being reasonable about it.

Hey Make a week ago I may have agreed with you but with 9 games left the Yanks are only 1 out in the loss cloumn. It has certainly been exciting.

  3. Let's not kid ourselves; the Giants home crowd will be asleep by the second quarter, shitting their Depends by the third, and leaving the stadium a minute into the fourth to "beat the rush."

I go to three games every year and it's always the same shit. :TD:

Have all of you forgotten what this kid did at Kentucky? He broke every passing record ever including Tim Couch's. If it comes down to it JLoad plays and does just fine.

  4. It is you that does not like to argue facts. Why compare Romo to Eli? I don't compare Eli to anyone, I just focus on Eli's mediocre performances week after week. The facts are as follows:

    1) Eli is inconsistent.

    2) Eli lacks leaderships skills.

    3) This has nothing to do with Romo.

More improtantly, Romo is not "my" QB. He is not "my" relative. He is not "my" employee. He is not "my" friend. I don't know him. I've never met him. I'm rooting for him, but if he plays poorly this season, I want him out.

And I certainly will be annoyed if the Cowboys waste as much time on Romo as a starter as the Giants wasted on Eli. And the Cowboys don't have to. They didn't give up three players for Romo... :LMAO: The Manning family is holding the Giants hostage. They can't give up on Eli, no matter how bad he plays...

Eggy, where do you live? 6 pack says the Jints take your girls without the spread.

  5. Do you thiink Bill Williamson should stick to covering the Broncos? WTF? That is as lame an article as ever and obviously he didn't wait til the Giants destroyed the Jets first team. That was a complete ass whipping for 1 half with the starters as I've seen in a long time. I can't wait til 9 September.

  6. It's Jerry Palmieri.

In Jacksonville, half the team ended up in IR each year.

When Coughlin was outta coaching, Palmieri went to the Saints. Half of their team ended up on IR that year... seven players went out with assorted sprains and pulls in one QUARTER of play on a Monday Night game.

I don't have to tell you what he's done with the Giants.

It's a recurring problem; you can't prevent concussions, breaks, etc. but the amount of muscle tears and sprains on this team happens way too often to just be a coincidence. The guy doesn't know what he's doing.

VG, but he hasn't been working with Shockey & Plax so WTF?

  7. I was away for several days and when I returned I noticed that there were few discussions in this section of the message board. You people need me to facilitate communication and scholarly debate in the Sportswrath community. I'll admit, it is a tiresome job, but someone has to do it. Perhaps they should make me a moderator. :)

You were away? Funny no one missed you.

  8. In reality, it comes from being a long time (55 years) Giants fan that won't accept insults against them.

Amen Pat, you and are by far the oldest 2 posters on this board. And the oldest Giants fan. I have also been a fan for about 55 years.

  9. I agree wholeheartedly Seph. I love Strahan, but I am tired of all the me, me. shyt. And I loved E;li opening his mouth. You know the kid is a leader just look at what he did in Miss. So iwas delighted with his response to Tiki. I loved Tiki too but again he forgot what got him to where he is. Under Coughlin he learned to become a premiere running back. IMMHO

  10. Viscaino gave up the tying run and Sean Henn lost it so I'm not sure I understand your comment. Farnsworth who is not my fav has pitched exteremly well his last 4-5 outings and has not given up a run including last night.

  11. Well then maybe all 3 of them are starters next year. Mussina is about done. Petitte may have 1 more year and the Rocket - who knows? So only Wang is a sure thing for next year IMO

  12. I've been following these prospects for a couple years in the minors. They keep saying kennedy is supposed to be better than Hughes. He's not a big guy like Chamberlain or Hughes. He's like 6 feet 190 pounds.

In the minors this year he is 12-2 with a 1.82 ERA 143 innings 153 K's.

I heard Cashman say at the trading deadline he didn't want to trade Kennedy for Gagne because he plans on using him in the rotation next year.

Thanks Plow, how are you? Haven't heard from you in quite awhile.

  13. yeah and also, I believe he faced Guillen, Ordonez and Sheffield 2 time each in 2 days so so much for hitters making adjustments once theyve seen him.

Look, I play baseball. Just had a game last nihgt and there are pitchers in this league that Ive been facing for the past 10 years and theyre just as nasty now as they were when I first faced them..and Ive faced these guys litterally, hundreds of time. If a guy has nasty stuff and command of it, its going to be very difficult to hit. Im not comparing anyone to Mo, but they guy has been throwin 1 pitch for the past 10 years and is still ridiculously successful

Who do you play for Make? I saw Don Mattingly in a Regional High School game hit a line drive that i don't believe came off the ground more than 5 feet and hit the right field fence. I also was in the stadium to see Mantle and Maris hit home runs. I believe 54 & 56. As I recall Mick went down the next day or day after & was done for the season.
