  1. its only been one start, but he looked decent...had a good fastball last night. I wouldnt go giving him a spot in the rotation just just. with that said, he still has options so I doubt the yankees will keep him up for long. its not like he was some highly touted prospect, he was rule 5 fodder for the past 2 years.

He looked a little bit more than decent to me. Gets up to 93-95 with an easy motion, and also with a couple of junkers. He was hit hard in the beginning, but then got into a groove. He showed some moxie, too, after Bautista came after him. A lot of kids would have rattled. I have no idea why Girardi took him out. I know I'm excited. We have a rough month coming up.

  2. I think the Yankees found Vasquez's replacement in Ivan Nova. Now, what to do with Vasquez, I have no idea, except maybe put him on the DL for some bs injury, like a groin pull. This way we won't have to carry him into the post season if we make it, and he'd be able to sign with another team in the off season.

  3. What's his problem? Is he tired? Is this a contract year for him, making him nervous? It happens. Or, does he miss Molina stealing strikes for him?

The same thing is happening to Lee down in Texas, but he has Molina. So, maybe it's that contract thing.

  4. Been real busy at work. Add 3 kids and I have no life. I usually come back around when the giants start up again. Unfortunately, I'm getting involved in arguments with prince nas over This mosque thing over on the GD page. He's one of the reasons why I stopped logging on over here. I mean, What a dick!

Nas is cool. He believes what he believes. You just gotta understand where he's coming from, the stuff that was drummed into his head since he was knee high to a grasshopper. He's coming around, though. Pretty soon we'll have him watching porn or kicking back with the guys and a case of Bud.

  5. they used to call mike sciosca (vg's favorite mgr) mike sociable because if his frequent trips to the mound when he was dodgers catcher. turtle's got him beat.

    Who is Turtle?

Burnett and Randy Johnson are the only ones in recent memory That have voiced their negative opinions in regards to posada's catching.

Moose did it and finally became a 20 game winner.

Where've you been, Gap? We haven't seen you since...well, since Strahan retired.

  6. My biggest concern, as it was last year, is the running game. Jacobs still doesn't get it. And while Bradshaw is good, but he's no Tiki, or Joe Morris, or Hampton. He's not going to carry a team for the season.

    I'm also missing Hixon.

And, yeah! Eli is one tough dude. He took about 3 hits in that play, and it never rattled his cage.

Pierre-Paul? Hard to tell. Seen some quick aggressiveness on some plays, only to see him get pushed around too much on others.

  7. FUCK YOU!!!!!!

AND FUCK YOU CASHMAN FOR TRADING FOR HIM!!!!!!!!

I hated this signing the minute I read about it. I knew this tenure would be no different than his last.

You can't tell yet, but Boone Logan may be the best part of that deal, and Melky's having a crappy year.

I was against that deal, too, though Vazquez is actually doing better than I thought he would. He'd do even better if he left his fast ball in the dugout.

  8. Remember Sierra, a superstar ballplayer before he decided to pack on the muscle, then couldn't hit his way out of a paper bag? Well, the same thing is happening to Alex. He already can't get out of his own way, and if he keeps it up, he'd be lucky to hit 700 before he retires.

The worst part about it is he's dragging Cano into that gay crap. Cano is just right where he is, and any more, he'll ruin a good future.

  9. I could no longer resist! I mean, come on! How did he hobble from the dirt part of the infield all the way over to behind the net before he hit the deck. I think he got jealous of the cameo role Jeter got in a movie. Now he's auditioning.

  10. Mel and Aby have been given chances over the past two years and everytime they get into a pressure situation they blow up. The same way Shelly Duncan was a AAAA batter those two were AAAA pitchers.

Albaladejo's been pitching lights out since he picked up another pitch, a change up or something. He pitched well the last time up, and it was a kind of shocker to see him sent back down, especially with Mitre and Gaudin hanging around. Melancon? Who knows? Good stuff and no confidence.

also maybe cash thought this would light a fire under joba , get him a little nervous about being relegated to the 6th and 7th innings.

The last thing you need is to light a fire under Joba's ass. He needs to calm the fuck down.

  11. Posada has nothing to do with AJ being the inconsistant/headcase pitcher he has been his entire career. If anything blame Brian Cashman for giving him that ridiculous contract. AJ Burnett is what he is...and its not a very good pitcher. In his career year, 2008, his era+ was a very pedestrian 104. That said, again, blame Cashman for giving him that horrible contract...look on the bright side, we only have him for 3 more years

Hugh, I'm already blaming Cashman for giving Posada a 4 yr contract. :furious:

  12. I agree with you about Park. I only wish Melincon and Albaladejo were given the same chances this year, especially Albaladejo. But about Mo teaching anyone the cutter, forget it. His strength is he puts it where he wants it, and he can't teach that.

  13. What's with the Mets that they can't win on the road? Accommodations so bad they can't feel at home? Lack of discipline, like too much night life away from their women? Or maybe not enough. I know all the bad can't be because of the home field advantage thing, so what is it?

  14. For a guy that threw 95 with a sinker, there's something very wrong there, either he's pitching with a sore arm, or he's babying himself. I'd tell you what I'd do, though. I'd try to get him back as a reliever, even if I had to trade a Mitre or Gaudin or something.

  15. The way I look at it as of now:

    1. Pettitte

    2. Sabathia

    3. Hughes

    4. Vasguez

    5. Burnett

I trust Pettitte and Sabathia the most in big games against good hitting line ups.

Hughes hasn't been going after the hitters like he did in the beginning of the season. I'm hoping it's just growing pains. He still needs a put away pitch. I really think he should change speeds a lot more to make his fast ball more effective.

Vasguez? I'm still skeptic. He's been better, but he hasn't faced anyone lately. That goes for Hughes, too.

Burnett either sucks completely or is terrific. It all depends if he can put the ball where he wants it.

  16. This is the 2nd time in a week his fat ass was pulled from a game after making no attempt for a ground ball. The last time was when Girardi was ejected and Pena pulled him. The excuse given then was that his hip stiffened up. Last night, though, they showed him bouncing around after the play, so I'm wondering what excuse they give the media and us fans this time.

  17. I know there's no instant replay on calls like that (as it should be <_<) but you'd think the other umpires could have interceded on Joyce's behalf and reversed the call. Now the poor fuck has to go the rest of his life carrying that around.

  18. The trouble with the Yankees is they can get too damned cocky. Then they have to get embarrassed before they start playing ball.

Our problem now is our pitching is having a major meltdown. Maybe we really do miss Posada, or worse yet, MOLINA.
