  1. The judge that awarded $18.000 per month for the support of 2 children is, imo, a total asshole and completely out of touch with real life expenses. I wonder if he receives a quiet monthly stipend from the mother or her attorney. :furious:

He should have just hung out with Shockey more and been a playboy.

  2. IMO strahan just wants to get paid or cut a few weeks off training camp. sitting out a year will lower his value and he has two years left on his deal anyway. the truth is strahan has no leverage at all and will have to come back with his tail between his legs. i don't think the giants have any interest in signing simeon rice, i think this is being done to piss strahan off and get him back to camp. my respect for jerry reese just went up 10 fold and this is coming from a huge strahan fan

That's what it looks like. Reese seems to turn down injured players and why would he want a cut player who failed his physical. I am sure this is just Reese giving Strahan a signal that no player is bigger than the team. Don't want to play, then we will find somebody who does. When Reese cut all our deadwood right away I had respect for him.

  3. And I tend to agree BUT does anybody really think that Culpepper is a real threat to Eli's 'job'? I would also repeat...or ask again...does Rothlisberger have 'pressure' on him this year from a backup? Does Carson Palmer have 'pressure' on him from his backup? I for one believe the QB position should be as follows: A SOLID #1 QB (if your team believes in you), and role QB's that KNOW that they are back ups. Culpepper pops off as a 'should be starter' (see Miami when rumors were floating around about Trent Green). Why would you want a Culpepper on the Giants (at ANY price) popping of like he wants to start? That tears down the foundation of the QB situation and splits locker rooms IMO.

He isn't a real threat but at least some threat. Really it's a big if that he comes at a good price and doesn't get all disgruntled when being backup. I am sure he will end up on a team where he has a better shot than on the Giants but if he sits around and nobody wants him then it's a better gamble than what we currently got IMHO. This whole thread is a big hypothetical situation.

  4. Nope...I'll pass. I would not want a 'broken' QB on the roster that signs a two year deal that would spend his 1st yr on 'the Physically unable to perform list' and the next year after Culpepper looking for another deal with another team. Back to square one, Wright isn't gonna lite fires under Eli but he (nor any QB) should hafta 'lite fires' under Eli. Who lights a fire under Brett Farve when he struggles? Who lit a fire under Tony Romo when he struggled? Getting a Culpepper would make these guys play better (including Eli?). I dunno??

Every position needs pressure and right now Eli has no pressure. Maybe Culpepper isn't Peyton but he can at least give Eli some drive to try that much harder. If he comes with a manageable salary then he is better than the three clearly bench warmers that the Giants have now. This all hypothetical because who really knows how bad his knee is or if he will want much more money than he deserves. But if he can pass a physical and comes at good price than take him and cut those scrub QBs. Maybe it's a gamble but a gamble is better than knowing the backups aren't going to be helping if Eli has to miss some games.

  5. So... everyone outside of Tree thinks Hasselbeck, Wright, and Lorenzen are better QBs than Culpepper?

That's why I am with you on this one. The Giants have scrubs as backups and they aren't going to make Eli sweat. The Giants need somebody to light the fire under Eli like Dayne did to Barber. Eli needs to start working for his job like all the other positions.

  6. Yeah... if he can't make it through pre-practice warmups, I've gotta take a pass on him too.

Bet he'll be great in the WWE, tho.

Well then he better get to conditioning because the WWE ain't no couch potato league either. He had to be helped off the field makes be believe he is in really bad shape.

  7. Super...so are you assuming that the Jacobs experiment will be the opposite, since he started out with limited playing time? The Dog still has to assert the fact that Jacobs is unproven as an everydown back...potentially he could do it, but if the Dog had a nickel for everytime a "player with potential" didn't pan out, there would be no more reasons for the Dog to have to hold fund raisers for the Nevisian Green Monkeys...

I hear what the Dog is saying and their is definitely that cockeyed optimism on this MB (ahhh.. remember the calls for a spectacular 12-4 season last year). Only time will tell if BJack can carry the load for a full season or whether he will tire out before defenses do. I think he will be good but I doubt he gets much more than 1,000 yards (which is great as far as I am concerned).

  8. I think Bradshaw would be a KR while Moss would be the best bet for PR. I really want to see Moss play, he's so explosive he can be a huge addition in the short passing game.

Well hopefully he does more than just PR (which Ross will compete for) and I am getting a little worried about Moss. There never seems to be anything about him in Giants news articles.

  9. It looks like Moss is going to have to really fight for playing time. Smith at 3rd WR and Bradshaw on returns leaves Moss with limited playing time. I hope Underwood stays healthy because the Giants need all the help they can get in the secondary.

  10. Missing a 47 yard field goal is hardly "choking", but a fumbled snap by a "Pro Bowl" QB sure is.

    Note the quotation marks...

It's amazing how some people still blame Norwood. It was hardly a chip shot and that was the best Superbowl I have ever seen. I still remember Hostetler getting smelling salts more than once and the teams were out to kill each other. Maybe it's nostalgia talking but the Superbowls lately just seem boring.

  11. he's in for a rude awakening. his peers are no longer football players who left school early

And that's why he will end up on ESPN or someplace where's it's easy to look smart when you're surrounded by people who can barely pronounce their words properly. Hey here's to his new career tanking and coming out of retirement. Of course if BJac produces this year then he can be the backup.

  12. Judging by the lack of back-up QB talent to push him, at least one more year.

I really wish the Giants would have gotten a decent backup to put Eli on notice. There is absolutely no competition and the best thing would be to push him. Either he'll respond like Tiki or fold and then the Giants can move on. I say at least 2 more years to show greatness but like Nas said he has been good already.

  13. Yep, another tainted sack record. LT had 10 sacks before it was considered a stat.

I am sure Strahan will get another 10 sacks so it's a non-issue really. Maybe it'll be a big deal before the 10 but he'll get more than that and secure it for good.

  14. VIDEO

    You can't fake that :LMAO:

He is the Pillsbury Throw Boy. I am sure if Eli missed the bucket it would have been the bucket's fault because it was thrown where only the bucket could have caught it if a DB was defending him. :P

  15. Not a bust.

The definition of bust to me is not where you are drafted but how long you play. Hilliard has now been in the league for 11 years and was on the Giants for 8. It doesn't matter that he hasn't gotten pro bowl numbers but that has lasted this long (especially with his major injuries). A bust doesn't last 11 years. How many players are still playing from the hundreds drafted in his draft year?

  16. Gimme a fucking break.

He wouldn't be the first guy to get pissed if a girl turned him down.

And as for people wanting shit signed. Time to grow up fans. The guy may be a self absorbed prick, but no matter what you think, when he's out on the town for the night, he's entitled to his time and not to be bothered.

No matter what he does, he'll be considered a dick. He could give money to the homeless and he'll get bashed for not giving them clothes also.

It's because he's Plax and everybody wants to go "I told you he's a prick". If he doesn't want to sign jerseys it's his prerogative and if he got mad at a woman it's no big deal. For all we know maybe he knew her and got pissed because of some thing prior. It's all hearsay and "eye witness" accounts which are sketchy at best. The tab thing may have just been a mistake and I am sure he will pay it.

  17. The word Eisen is looking for is "complement." The amount of typo's, misspellings, and grammatical errors he submits on a weekly basis is incredible...

How most people at Giants.com keep their jobs is a mystery. The site is cluster fuck.
