  1. Many fans Ive talked to think this game defined Laulettas career.

Now obviously no ones knows if he will eventually take the wheel, but its way to early to say he wont. Or that if he does he will suck. Heck Elis first few games were train wrecks.

  2. Yeah I'm not sure where all the Cleveland comparisons are coming from. Sure they didn't cash in on draft picks, but saying that's a losing strategy is like saying, "Man, fast food just doesn't work... I mean... look at White Castle...fast food would never work for another franchise... "

Seahawks, Niners, Rams, Eagles, Jacksonville, Chiefs... all of these teams have had success in the present or the recent past by creating teams with good, young rosters and a few steady vets.

So far what is there to cash in on though? What are they going to get with these draft picks? A slightly higher 4th round pick then they got for Apple? Thats hardly a reason to remove two starting quality players. Especially Apple who may very well turn out to be a shut down corner. Guy has only been in the league two years.

I just dont see how this makes any sense.

  3. My problem is they arent getting anything for the moves they have made, and two starting quality players are gone. There is nothing to say, heck the odds are there is very little chance they end up with a single starter who ever plays a down for them with these picks.

  4. I don't know how you guys can say Barry and Barkley are nothing alike. What makes both so dangerous is there ability to change direction without slowing down. That misdirection side step that just stops defenders in there tracks. Then the acrobatic hurtles and the low center of gravity to power through tackles. I just watch a Sander's top 50, and a few of them looked exactly like Barkley's best plays so far this year.

I'm certain once Barkley has enough highlight plays you could do a split screen and showing the similarities between the two. Seems to me they are many.

  5. Yeah Temp, that game against the 9ers was definitely top 3 of Eli's best games ever. He was not only taking an unbelievable beating, but was getting right back up and completing passes. You couldn't tell by looking at him, but he has been the most durable QB in his time.

Remember in the beginning of 07 when he basically separated his shoulder? Doctor told him he'd be out 4 to 6 weeks minimum. He was back on the field the next week. Didn't miss a single game.

  6. If Eli retires do we still take a cap hit? Obviously he is going to play out the rest of the season, and really I'm fine with that. Especially if they have no intention of ever starting either back up. Hope Eli see's the writing on the wall at the end of this year and bows out gracefully. Not likely to happen though. I think he has already screwed the Giants out of enough money 6 out of the last 7 years. QB's ego's are huge, they will probably have to drag him off the field.

If they do end up benching Eli this season, it wont be till they are mathematically eliminated.

I told you guys signing Odell to that contract was dumb. Should have made him play out the rookie contract, then tagged him twice. He seems to play much better when he's chasing money. You gotta be intrigued at the idea of Barkley and Odell with a kick ass first round, hopefully first pick QB though. With the money they will eventually save getting out of Manning's contract maybe they can actually build a half way decent O-line.

I also don't think the Defense is as bad as they look, well aside from pressuring the QB. I think they just don't give a crap anymore. Out of all the upcoming FA's on D they better keep snacks. He is one of the only ones earning his check.

Man thinking of all the other problems, it's gonna be quite a task putting together a winner even next year.

Oh just to add, a lot of fans stop watching when things get this bad. I decided after seeing Barkley, heck in every game, that he deserves an audience. For him alone I'm gonna watch every game as though they still have a chance. Despite the record we are witnessing something very special with this kid. His last game is making me think there is no RB in the league as good. Not even Dallas's poster boy.

  7. Things seem to be going as planned... The Giants get to pick in the top 3.

Not if the division stays as bad as it seems. If this game is any indicator looks like the Giants are down to one main weakness, no pressure. They showed big offensive improvements today.

If the offense can keep up that kinda play, the division is about to get interesting, cause I think the Giants are gonna start winning some games.
