If I could only pick one it would be Rodney Hampton. I think it's widely overlooked by the NFL that he played for some abismal teams and to make matters worse, he is nearly the entire offense for those years including (and largely constituting) the Dave Brown era. He was strong, quick, and had nice moves. He was the back that Tiki evolved into. It's not a statistical argument because there are too many variables involved that can't be counted, however, I highly doubt that Tiki would have been successful in those years under the same conditions and I do belive that Rodney would be successful in the Tiki teams. That's not to take anything away from Tiki, he's terrific and we've been lucky to have him.

It's amazing how irrelevant this thread is in its second week. This is just dopey. Here's what you can ascertain from this, the author is somewhere between 27 and 37 (ish) and what his daddy taught him about the Giants is about all he knows. Yes, we all enjoyed the glory years of the Giants in the 80's but much in the game has changed, so let's put on our big boy pants and stop playing the "I wish" game. Shockey did not skip the Pro Bowl he had a damaged sternum that he played through all season. He's not the first or last player who won't play in the Pro Bowl. This is not a good indicator of anything.

What's different about the TE role in our offense than those of Parcells? 3. In the only year Shockey didn't make the PB, was his role more or less like it was the years before and since? 4. Why is it that you write about things that you don't understand? Isn't there a plague that befalls people (like you) with such a committment to being an annoyance to good people?

I hope Shockey works out in Miami every off-season. It seems to have paid off this past year...perhaps (instead) of whining like a little kid that dropped their ice cream cone, perhaps we should adopt some of their training techniques? (insert crying bany noises here)

Once again, let the frigheningly dumb foursome fail to convince again. Shock, Plax and co, working out in FL will have no effect on the team. I didn't see Walter Payton running the hill with Jim McMahon, Matt Suey, or the OL. I didn't see Jerry Rice running his mountain with John Taylor and Joe Montana. This gets to be a bit ridiculous and if you played football or understood football, then perhaps you'd be less inclined to prove yourself as one fool with a number of sign in names.

Don't embarass yourself further by using a word your English Lit. prof used in class yesterday. You've yet to demonstrate a knowledge of football, just a little kid's tantrum about players you don't like. The fact that you don't understand this team, football, or football operations makes me wonder how you decided to focus on pro football in the first place.
