  1. Yeah that too. I'd love to see a mid round RB selection this draft as insurance. Not that there wouldn't be a drop off without Barkley, but the guy averaged 4.4 YPC last year...that's good, but nothing special.
  2. Barkley better pray he doesn't get injured this year, or else nobody comes close to giving him $12M per year in 2024. Having said that, can't the Giants just tag him again in 2024, then the contract value goes up 20% (if I'm not mistaken), so only about $12M. Seems fair for the Giants; it's like a 2 year $22M contract, $10M in 2023, $12M in 2024.
  3. KC's in a good spot. They'll probably draft a WR in rounds 1-2, and have Valdez-Scantling, Toney, Sky Moore (2nd rounder last year) James, plus their draft pick. Plus Kelce obviously, who's shown no signs of slowing down. Might as well pencil them in as the SB favorite this year.
  4. I agree. I'm with you on the need to prioritize OL. I'm just trying to guess Schoen's mentality here, and if I had to guess, I bet he's not as high on OL as some of us on this board, and other NYG fans in general. In his mindset, he's drafted what he thinks is a capable LG prospect (Ezeudu), he drafted another one last year (McKethan), plus Evan Neal for RT of course. Then he also brought in Glowinski. That's four guys last offseason alone, let alone adding a few in between. I think he's looking at the OL after bringing in Hassenhaur + last year's draft and probably thinks he already has 8-9 capable OL lineman on the roster already, or at least as prospects with potential: Thomas, Ezeudu, Bredeson, Hassenhaur, Glowinski, Neal, Wyatt Davis, Marcus McKethan, Tyre Phillips, Matt Peart. Personally, I think this is faulty reasoning. Perhaps, Ezeudu can develop in time, but I wouldn't go into the season relying on him, Bredeson, or Hassenhaur as starters. It would be one thing if Neal and Glowinski could be relied on to be solid starting lineman, but Glowinski is only average, and Neal is not there yet. To go into the season with two additional question marks on the OL at the LG and C position to me is a mistake.
  5. If I had to guess at Schoen's mindset, he's probably content to go into the season with Ezeudo at LG, and have Bredeson and Hassehauer compete for C, plus probably thinks he has capable depth with Peart, Davis, and Tyre Phillips. Plus Markus McKethan as well. Who knows about Shane Lemiuex too. I bet he doesn't address OL until round 4 or later, and only for depth.
  6. I seem to remember lots of mocks having us taking EDGE Josh Allen (and then fans crying when we didn't draft him at #6), plus DL Ed Oliver or OT Jonah Williams.
  7. If I had to guess, I'd put my money on Schoen drafting a CB, even though I personally prioritize OL or WR at #25. I'd be fine with a guy like Deonte Banks, Kelee Ringo, or even DJ Turner (Kiper has him mocked to us) or Cam Smith.
  8. All of these top 5-6 WR's all seem more like WR #2's at this point, and not WR #1's. I'm sure a few WR from the entire class overall may emerge, but who knows. I can see Johnson for instance being another Corey Davis, Mike Williams, Courtland Sutton type player. Decent WR who can play in the NFL, but not going to blow you away or anything. Having said that, if we get a guy who can consistently put up 65-70 catches per year and 900 yards on average, I'd take it at #25. We haven't had that type of guy in years.
  9. He's good too. Really I'd take Johnson, Hyatt, Flowers, or Downs at that spot. I'd also be fine with OL or CB at that spot.
  10. Eli Apple I always thought was JR panicking and passing on Leremy Tunsil (who really should have been the pick, but the pot smoking story freaked him out). I remember me also wanting Corey Coleman that year.....BOY was I wrong about that one.
  11. Did he? I always thought it was a surprise. I must have missed something. I know they were gushing over him for sure at the combine and senior bowl, or something like that...but I also thought they said they're taking the best player available.
  12. How did DG tip his hand exactly? Maybe on Barkley he gushed about, but what else. Wasn't DJ and Dexter Lawrence not expected?
  13. Final mocks. What I WANT to happen, not what I expect Schoen to do 1: WR Jordan Addison, USC 2: C Joe Tippmann, Wisconsin 3: CB/S Tyrique Stevenson, Miami 4: DE/DL/OLB: Colby Wooden, Auburn 5 (160): LB Dorian Williams, Tulane 5 (172): S Anthony Johnson Jr., Iowa State OR QB Clayton Thune, Houston if he's still around 6-7: BPA
  14. I sorta feel like WR and CB are implied as top priorities, with maybe OL as well.
  15. I'd imagine at least one if not both of Shepherd and Robinson will be on the PUP list to start the year, and even with that, Crowder will be fighting to keep a WR #5-6 spot on this team, most likely competing with one or more later round draft picks. It's a low risk, low cap signing though, and if he ends up making it, then he's good veteran depth.
  16. On the WR situation, I'm presuming there's a possibility that Robinson and/or Shepherd may not be 100% by the start of the season, so Crowder is kind of an insurance on that WR spot. He's now one of four slot WR's on this team, lol.
  17. For reference, Oruwariye was targeted 50 times in 2022, and had a passer rating against him of 106.1, with an average yards per target of 9.0. 2021 he was sort of feast or famine. The passer rating was only 74.1 largely driven down by the 6 INTS, but he gave up 671 yards and 4TDs on 77 targets (61% completion percentage).
  18. I always like Crowder. Vet Minimum deal I presume.
  19. Yeah very possible. There's no way to no the inner workings of the negotiations here.
  20. I'm second guessing Schoen now. This is essentially the same money Parris Cambell got. Would we have been better with Hardman instead?
  21. Also for context, he was projected to be an undrafted free agent before the 2022 draft..even before the injury. So don't get too excited. He'll be lucky if he even makes the roster, and is likely destined for the practice squad this year.
  22. I'd love a DL that has Lawrence, Robinson and Williams on it, with Nunez-Roches in the rotation. Those are some serious dudes right there. Do something with Williams like turning his deal into a 2 year $42M contract, cutting the cap hit down to like $17M.
  23. I keep hearing rumors of Robinson. If true, does that mean we cut Leonard Williams?
