  1. Seph, I think most of us here VG, Nesta, and myself included are just realistic about Eli. We're not saying he's a superstar. But he's a very good QB. Blaming this loss on him and forgetting Plax's disappearing act, the holding penalty that negated the 83 or 84 yard kick off return, and the holding call that negated the TD..

If you're looking for the silver bullet for why we lost this game, it's that our Pass Defense sucks major balls... and I'll say it till Plax get cut... PLAX SUCKS.

And once again I will say for the last time tonight, that I don't blame the kid for the loss. It was a team loss. We could blame everything and anything on the loss, the pass D the penalties the interceptions, the O-line, it can go on and on. All I'm saying is that after these 4 years with the team the kid has shown me he is nothing more then an average QB. He had one good game then one bad, occasionally he has had those fourth quarter comebacks and hell I supported him through those first 4 years. But now after this game I have just lost faith in the kid at being out QB. It seems like he's at a stalemate in his carrier he doesn't appear to get any better but it doesn't appear like hes getting progressively worse.

I still support the Giant's 100% and will support them threw thick and thin, if we lose the rest I'm still going to be here. I'm a die hard fan and will always be one, I just don't believe that we have the right QB under center. Maybe he will prove me wrong but right now I just don't believe it.

  2. Nice way to back out of that one there buddy. Instead of either backing up your claim or conceding to the fact you're wrong, play it off with a lmao smilie.

In what way do I have to prove myself to anyone on the boards? I stated what I believe and just because I don't want to sit on this site all night trying to defend myself doesn't mean I'm "backing out". So what do you want me to do sit here and argue to you about how I believe in my opinion? It's a message board not congress we state our opinions on the Giants, I stated mine. Why is that so hard to take?

  3. BlueInCanada, I know you said he could've thrown the ball away on some of those sacks... but how about our WRs getting open? Plax ALWAYS disappears in big games. I was ridiculed when I said I didn't mind Owens playing for us after his debacle in Philly.. I was riduclued when I said we should trade Plax for Moss... Randy that is... I was told Dante Stallworth drops the ball frequently when I suggested we needed a 3rd WR...

I said it before and I will say it again, PLAX SUCKS BALLS.

I would of loved to see Stallworth and Moss here but in all honesty we couldn't of gotten them. Imagine Randy Moss sitting there on draft day then and two teams phone him New England and The Giants....who do you think he really wants to be with? New England who every year has a shot at going to the SB or the Giants who have been to the playoffs the last couple years but couldn't win. There was no way in hell less of a first round pick we were getting Moss. I could possibly see Stallworth but once again a decision between us or New England....well you know how it went.

I think we had more needs through the draft then to try to be throwing out picks away.

  4. Blue in Canada, you don't understand...

Eli can do no wrong in the eyes of certain posters. If you ever say ANYTHING bad about Eli, you're on the "Eli hate wagon," because no bad play is ever his fault... but you also can't root for him ever again, or praise him when he has a good game. He is a great QB, and would be in the Pro Bowl every year if he had players around him who were any good... because Tiki Barber, Jeremy Shockey, Plax Burress, and the entire offensive line have been horrible around here for so long.

It's not Eli's fault... let's remember how badly Peyton played in his fourth year. Trent Dilfer won a Superbowl, let's not forget. Oh yeah, Eli has never had a good running back to hand off to in his career. And one time Eli won a game against Denver in the final two minutes... don't ever forget that.

Unfortunately thats how it is around here.

  5. Don't ever compare Dave Brown to Eli Manning, if Eli had one arm he'd still be better than

Dave Brown. And Eli Manning is one of the best quarterbacks the Giants have ever had, whether

or not you want to believe it is your choice.

There is no way in hell you can compare that kid with Phil Simms or even Y.A. Tittle. That kid isn't one of the best QB that Giants have ever had up to this point...he has just been better that what we've had recently which really isn't saying much. The kid is no where near the greats at this point in his carrier.

Hell maybe the kid will make me eat my words some day, in fact I hope that kid does. But up to this point he has been an average replacement QB. This last game I've just lost all faith in him ever recovering...but you know crazier things have happened....hell Bush got in for a second term...maybe that kid could make me eat my words.

  6. You don't like Manning, quit being a fucking Giants fan then.

That right there sums up the typical homer fan. Worship the QB or get the fuck out. So just because I think the kid is a average replacement QB I'm suppose to give up on the Giants all together? Holy shit man if your example of a fan is someone who blindly worships their QB then I guess I'm not your definition of a "fan"

I love the Giants their the only team in football I cheer for and they will always be. But just because I don't like the kid at QB doesn't mean I'm not a fan.

P.S. So every fan during the Dave Brown years had to like him....or else they weren't a fan?

  7. Well you damn sure didn't mention the fact that the rest of the TEAM played like shit and made stupid mistakes along with the 'scrawny SOB'.

    Or did you?

Well if you would actually read the posts before coming to your kids defense, you would of realized I never said it was his loss and we wouldn't be here now would we? ;)

  8. You guys are absolutely right. If Eli could cover better, tackle in the open field, stop holding while blocking, bring down the qb when he's in the grasp, make better decisions with the playcalling, kick the ball deeper on kickoffs, and get off the field when defending 3rd down, he'd be a probowler like his brother.

Are you stupid or just really trying tonight? When did I ever say Eli cost us the game? I said "he took a shit" he had a god awful second half. I never once said the game was his fault it was the team that lost the game. But what I'm trying to get across, if you would actually read my posts is that I've giving up on him as our QB......now do you want me to spell it out in crayon for you? or you got it? This was a team loss, but that kid still can't play QB for any amount of money in the world.

  9. You guys are too much. I really hope to God that Opie will pull a Simms on us and become the man. My hopes are fading.

Hey I would like nothing more for that kid to wake up one day look down and say "Hey look dad they dropped" And for that kid to actually have a solid game..scratch that a solid season but until that day ever comes that kid is nothing more then a decent replacement QB.

  10. Its official I have given up on Eli as our QB. I have supported this kid 100% since the day we drafted him, from the day we pulled Warner up to today. However today really showed me that this Kid has done nothing to advance in this league, he bitches and moans in the off season about how his receivers need to come practice and how he spends hours upon hours watching his game tape. Hey how about this you stupid inbred redneck, instead of all that you actually try to get better in the off season? Like I said I've supported this kid and the Giants decision to keep him up till now, but until this kid proves me otherwise I have no hope for the Giants with him under center.

I mean look at this game this was the one fucking time all season that we got Shockey involved, he was having an awesome game. Then what does that kid do...he takes a giant shit in that start of the second half. I mean god dam 3 delay of game penalties fucking three of them! and don't tell me that little scrawny SoB couldn't of gotten rid of the football on some of those sacks.

So until this kid proves to me that he can actually step up and show us he has some balls, he's not our QB he's just another scrub that the Giants put in because they have no one better.

Fuck you Eli and the bank we traded you for.
