jranieli Posted April 6, 2009 Author Posted April 6, 2009 The weather is not looking too promising... They might get it played, who knows. They pushed the start of the game 30 minutes to 1:40. It's gonna be cold though.
jranieli Posted April 6, 2009 Author Posted April 6, 2009 The ground crew has taken the tarp off of the infield.
xxi-xxv Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Santana himself check bullpen does its job check same shitty clutch hitting check Mets would have blown that game in 08, man a decent pen masks poor situational hitting huh?
gateb Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Santana himself check bullpen does its job check same shitty clutch hitting check Mets would have blown that game in 08, man a decent pen masks poor situational hitting huh? No pass for shitty weather? In early April there's no such thing as clutch ABs.
Taylorized56 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Nice to have a bullpen that can actually hold a one run lead. Our hitters stranding 12 runners is ridiculous though.

I was thinking the same thing. When Beltran didn't bring Reyes in from third in the first inning, all I could think was "Here we go again, Mr. Clutch" Hopefully they figure out how to relax in those situations.

So winning games in April and hitting with RISP is less in April? Although I agree its early, its never to early to set the tone and establish what you do well.

No doubt it's nice to get into a groove early with hitting but these situations just aren't considered "clutch" IMO. I remember on opening day last year our situational hitting looked pretty good. We all saw how that turned out as the year ended. If anything, I was pleased with how deep our batters were taking counts. They showed a good eye at the plate. It's just a matter of getting a hold of a pitch.
