With Bannister's red-hot start and Padilla undergoing Tommy John's surgery Heilman has to go back into the pen. Padilla, along with Heilman, did great at getting lefties out. Now that he's gone we have no one but Heilman to fill that void. Put Bannister in, if things don't work out put him in the pen or send him to AAA and put Heilman back in.

A part of me really wants to give Bannister a shot but that is a big change for a team with a lot of potential. However, I don't trust Julio at all and want Heilman to replace him there. But what has Aaron done to lose the 5th spot job? Don't want to get him upset. He has has a future in starting IMO. Who knows? Maybe Lima can be a gem in the pen :)

Aaron hasn't done anything to get booted out of the rotation, it's the injury to Padilla that makes him a necessity in the bullpen to get lefties out. Heilman could have been as good as Carpenter last year and would probably be in the pen still.

What about that Japanese guy we got in here? Or one of the Orioles we traded for besides Julio? Surely, there must be a player that can be in the pen that we have on our roster somewhere. It's not as if Padilla isn't replaceable.

Padilla was going to be a major part of our bullpen. Maine is better in the minor leagues. If he pans out he'll start, but that's future plans. Iriki is still inexperienced, he's old, and hasn't played major league ball yet.

Lets just hope would stop getting our players injured before the season even starts

Placing Bannister in the rotation now would be foolish based on 10 strong spring innings, Heilman at this point is better suited to have that 5th starters spot and he has certainly earned it over the last year or so.

As for Bannister, how about shipping Zambrano to Japan along with Kaz MAtsui and 3 pieces of Sushi and place Bannister in the rotation with Heilman.

FOr better or worse Omar aquired this piece of horse shit Julio for the pen so IMO he gets the 7th, Sanchez the 8th and Wagner the 9th. Heilam deserves a shot to start.
