Johan now a Met!

I don't understand this Mets management. They were willing to give Pedro

Martinez a guarantee 4th year when NO ONE WOULD DO IT and whispers

of a semi torn rotator cuff. Now they are bitching about giving a guaranteed

6th year to the best pitcher in baseball, WHEN EVERY ONE WOULD DO IT.

Seriously Mets management, stop acting like a small market team when you

aren't, AT ALL. Fuck you Freddy Coupons.

The Wilpons are trying to get every cent that they can out of these negotiations.

They're playing hardball. They're hoping Johan's agent is a pussy. If not, he'll be getting his years and money.

No worries it'll get done.

I heard this while sitting in the bat at newark last night. surronded by Yankee fans(few Met fans) I just smiled and said "this weekend is off to a good start".

Anyway great move. Anyone that tells you they did not want this guy is lying, he is an absolute stud. best move the Mets have made since Piazza in 98.

I actually cant wait to see Johan light it up for you guys. New York will be on top this year in baseball as well. Providing my Yanks dont do it, wouldn't be awesome if the Mets mowed down Boston in WS? Two Boston teams choking...one after the other.

Ya gotta realize Dubby, they are the Mets and usually when expectations are high they shit on their fan base like Montezumas revenge(see last 17 games of 2007 season).

Regardless, I sincerely hope they play well over 162 games and Johan becomes a must see pitch attraction that the Mets really have not had since Gooden(aside from the begining of the Pedro run here).
