Blue Jeans
During this trade deadline time of year every one is quick to trade away blue chip prospects in the hopes of landing the veteran who will help win the World Series. 20+ years ago the Tigers traded away John Smoltz, so I think it is interesting to compare Smoltz's first 12 starts to what Pelfrey has done so far and the similarities are shocking: Stat..........Pelfrey.........Smoltz GS..............11................12 Wins............2..................2 Losses.........7..................7 ERA...........5.88.............5.48 WHIP.........1.70.............1.67 K................29................37 BB..............32................33 Just some food for thought before we start trading away the farm. jranieli
I rather not make the playoffs than trade anyone, including P-Fry.

xxi-xxv
Omar should hold onto Pelfrey and Humber like he would if thier names were Gonzalez and Sanchez

xxi-xxv
MY guess is OMAR would give up the farm for Wandy Rodriguez.
Reaper
That is a low blow against a Hispanic GM, the same GM who brought in Paul LoDuca, Billy (Yee Haw) Wagner and locked up David Wright for years to come! The man looks for talent if they happen to be of a Hispanic background so be it!

Remember, Omar has serious discussions with one of the Molina brothers and Ramon Hernandez.

We traded for Lo Duca when both were on the market I believe. Ironic, i think we traded a guy named gaby hernandez for lo duca. The kid must've really sucked if we traded him with that last name. (Bengie Molina) Hernandez got a 4 year deal worth 27 Mil from the Orioles, he was the Mets first target and once he signed with Baltimore the Mets concentrated else where. The Mets also traded their best pitching prospect at the time in Yuserimo Petit for either Delgado or Lo Duca. The Mets pretty much got those two players for nothing. Justin Vargas and Adam Bostick on the other hand..... they gave the Marlins pretty much their whole bullpen.
