  1. The Journal News

Decent article. Talks about the mood from camp, that Fred Robbins got bigger and faster, and how J-Load has improved.

Also, interestingly enough, Toomer mentions how in the last few years, when there were high expectations, the Giants...well, I'll just quote:

"I'm excited, but it's one of those things," Toomer said as mini-camp closed yesterday. "Every time we come into camp and people predict us to be competitive, traditionally we haven't been.

So, maybe they'll do the work rather than just assume they'll be competitive, and finally get the job done this year. :o

  2. The unit is weak w/o Pierce, with him they are one of the best, for he is one of the best ;)

I agree with you. Emmons is having no luck staying on the field with us, and when he is on the field, he's workmanlike and unspectacular. Arrington? Who knows how good he'll be, or how long he'll be able to play. I'm hoping for the best, though.

Oddly enough, I think Pierce is going to help our interior line be better than what it is, just by how he calls the game.

  3. Eisen story

Emmons, from article:“I mean I played off the ball a lot in Philly (where he played four seasons before coming to the Giants). Even though I was a SAM linebacker, we played a lot of off fronts or over fronts, where I was off the line. So it’s like I’m doing the same thing. It’s just on a full-time basis.

“I don’t (have a preference). I just want to win. If we can get to the Super Bowl, I don’t care if they put me at noseguard.”

    Gotta love the attitude.

The article is talking about the LB corp being the strength of the D at this point. I think Osi and Strahan might disagree. How about you?

  4. "We have a lot of talented guys on this team, and that's a good thing. It's better than not having talented guys," said linebacker LaVar Arrington, the most intriguing veteran addition, "but it's still how you work together and how hard you go after it."

This is easily the least print-worthy quote I've ever seen.

  5. It's not really a secret. Tiki's been very upfront about his training regemin. There's been articles about it all over the place.

It's more telling about Westbrook that he needs to ask, rather than do the research himself.

Maybe Buckhalter should join too, so that maybe he can see a regular season game this year.

  6. :TD:

I love it how they didn't even mention Shockey as a threat.

you have to look under TEs. Which, by the way, doesn't evaluate blocking ability at all.

Is this like a fantasy football section? Because it has no basis in reality. Going by this, the Cowboys have the best offense in the NFC east, being top 10 in running back, TE, and WR.

  7. Of course this all assuming that madison isn't over the hill and can still perform as a top lvl Corner in the league

I'll even take him a step or two slower, so long as he teaches Webster and Deloatch some technique.

  8. I think the Giants organization is going to stand pat on what we have into training camp with our current roster. It hink they want to give Corey Webster every opertunity to start opposite madison

I agree. They can't become vets unless they play.

  9. There were so many good plays last season, it was probably the most fun I've had watching the Giants in a decade.

I think it was against Kansas City. The catch by Amani Toomer that by all rights he should have been downed, but managed to run it into the endzone anyway. I still don't know how he didn't break his leg on that play, let alone stay upright.

  10. That's fine...I just think his run blocking has vastly improve since his rookie year. And, seeing that he has played with 4 starting QBs the last 4 years, his number have drop a bit because it. I expect a 1000 yard season this year. I really do.

Tell me you're not listing Palmer as a starting quarterback . Besides, wasn't Shockey already out for the season when Collins got injured?

  11. Yah, I disliked the non-mention of Toomer, who is Mr. Clutch. I also disliked the nicks and bruises comments, but I believe it was a broken STERNUM instead of collarbone...which is even less of a nick or bruise. :TU:

Toomer had more amazing plays this past year than I can recall in any other season.

I thought his sternum was "just" bruised, and he had a broken collarbone. No matter, to call any of that a nick is insane.
