  1. They do that anyways if You're name is Jeff and last Gordon. Remember last year?

I'm growing real tired of Nascar anyway, ever year theres some new retarted rule, it's like they want it to become golf.

The car of tomarrow will kill nascar. They should of left well enough alone and left the points chase the way it was.

  2. Despite Vinatieri's progress, Andrus was still unsure if the Colts would take the risk of releasing him in their final round of cuts on Saturday. Since he had performed so well with his kickoffs and his field goal accuracy in three preseason games, it seemed logical that the team might opt to hold onto him for at least another week until Vinatieri's foot was more fully tested. But after Friday's workout, Vinatieri and team officials evidently were convinced that he would be ready to resume his full workload before the Colts head to the Meadowlands to face the Giants. Even head coach Tony Dungy reflected that confidence following the game.
  3. I dont see any reason why we cant go 4-0

we can beat indy out of the gate they lost James all we have to do is pressure Peyton and contain rhodes

also Adam Vinatieri may be out for the opener

Seattle: this may be the hardest game of the first 4 if we beat the seahawks we will have so much momentum going into philly

Philly: I feel is falling down the nfc ladder its not whither or not we can stop mcnab (we can do that) but if we can stop westbrook

washington: well coming of a bye we historicaly dont win that game but this year if we get to Brunell and hold portis to low yardage we can beat them also the redskins have just picked up T.J. Duckett from the Bucs He sure looks like a load to stop He may be no Riggins but hes pretty beefy .

I feel we go 3-1 seattle may be the team that gets us

  4. Vinatieri getting treatment for ankle

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Adam Vinatieri isn't talking about his injured nonkicking leg, but the Indianapolis Colts still hope he'll be kicking in next week's season-opener.

The Colts announced Friday that Vinatieri was being treated for a sprained ligament and a bone chip, but it's the ligament that is of the greatest concern.

"We've targeted Adam for the season opener and we plan on him being ready," coach Tony Dungy said after Friday's 20-3 loss to Cincinnati. "I'm not a doctor, so I don't have the answer. You got the statement and that's the statement I got from the doctor when he first got hurt, so we're sticking with it."

Vinatieri, the NFL's best clutch kicker and the Colts' biggest offseason acquisition, has not practiced or played since hurting his left ankle while running Aug. 14.

The Colts initially announced he had a sprained ankle, but the severity of the injury was questioned Thursday after Vinatieri's mother, Judy, told The Indianapolis Star he had a fractured foot.

Dungy declined to elaborate after Thursday's practice and team spokesman Craig Kelley said Vinatieri did not have a broken bone and was recovering instead from a sprained ligament.

With questions still swirling Friday, the Colts uncharacteristically released a written statement from team foot specialist Dave Porter 30 minutes before kickoff.

Vinatieri watched the game in street clothes on the sideline but was not available for comment after the game.

Teammates, however, sounded optimistic about his return.

"We certainly hope he's back," two-time MVP Peyton Manning said. "Obviously, we all know what Adam's capable of when he's healthy. I know he's been working real hard in his rehab, so hopefully he's back for Sunday's game."

The Colts open their season against the New York Giants in the first Sunday night game of the season.

Vinatieri signed a five-year, $12 million contract in March to replace Mike Vanderjagt, the franchise's career scoring leader with 995 points and the NFL's most accurate kicker.

Vanderjagt signed with Dallas as a free agent after missing his final kick as a Colts player, a 46-yarder that would have forced overtime in January's playoff loss to Pittsburgh.

Clearly, though Colts players were getting weary of questions about Vinatieri's injury.

"You'd have to talk to the doctors and talk to Adam on that," Manning said when asked if he expected Vinatieri to play against the Giants. "I'm not into speaking for other people. Certainly we hope he's back."

Vinatieri missed the Colts' last three exhibition games because of the injury.

He's best known for his two Super Bowl winning kicks with New England. He also made two field goals in the infamous "tuck rule" game against Oakland, kicks that helped the Patriots to their first Super Bowl victory.

  5. former NFL quarterback Ken Stabler owes half a million in taxes

Feds sue Stabler over unpaid taxes

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - The federal government has sued former NFL quarterback Ken Stabler, seeking more than $500,000 in overdue taxes and proposing foreclosure on property he owns in Mobile and Baldwin counties.

The suit, filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court by the Justice Department's Tax Division, says Stabler owes $241,565 in unpaid income taxes, penalties and interest from 1999, 2000 and 2001.

It also says the Stabler Co., which he owns, owes $303,282 in unpaid income and employment taxes, penalties and interest from 1995, 1998, 1999 and 2000. The Stabler Co. arranges speaking engagements.

The suit asks a judge to make sure the amounts are paid by foreclosing on property that the former University of Alabama and Oakland Raiders quarterback owns in Mobile and on Ono Island, an upscale residential island.

Robert Galloway, Stabler's tax attorney, told the Birmingham News in a story on its Web site Friday that he has been negotiating with the Internal Revenue Service on his client's behalf and that he expects the matter to be settled before any property is seized.

Stabler is scheduled to be a radio announcer for Alabama's first football game of the season against Hawaii on Saturday.

  6. Not down field. Down field holding is from the spot of the flag. He got 8 yards before the defense was held

so if he threw a 30 yard pass and a wr held a db at 30 yards to set the wr up to gain more yards and a flag was thrown it wouldnt matter because in esence it would be a first down either way ?

  7. can some one explain this to me

    1-10-NE41 (8:02) M.Cassel sacked at NE 31 for -10 yards (M.Kiwanuka).

    2-20-NE31 (7:30) H.Evans right tackle to NE 35 for 4 yards (J.Seawright, R.Torbor).

3-16-NE35 (6:48) (Shotgun) M.Cassel scrambles left end ran ob at NYG 39 for 26 yards (R.McQuarters).

PENALTY on NE-K.Kight, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at NYG 40. Officially, a rush for 25 yards

3rd and inchess? after the penalty from the point where cassel went out of bounds? wtf?

shouldnt it be 3rd and 26? thought an offensive holding went from the LOS and the 10 yards back?
