  1. YES. Here's a week where we all hear about how the Eagles are the 2008 version of last year's

Giants. I'm getting sicker and sicker of this shit every time I hear someone say that.

I'm hoping alot of the "experts" predict an Eagles' victory, and that the Giants are tuning in.

  2. You know, I thought that it was very unfortunate that the refs played such an important part of the game in the overtime period, but the penalties looked legit. Especially the face mask. That is all on the defensive player. He knew he had that face mask yet still held on. That is a lack of discipline on his part. Then there was the defensive holding play on the fade... I also thought that was a fair call. The defender held him twice on the same play. The first time near the line of scrimmage, that would've been ticky tack... but as the wide out reached the sticks, the defender grabbed him again, definitely impeding his progress. It's very unfortunate, but I have to blame the Colts players.

I also blame Peyton. Everyone knows "tails never fails." He called heads!

Also, near the end of regulation, all they needed was a first down and the game was over, and they couldn't get it.

I think they got to 3rd and 2, and Peyton dropped back to pass, and the protection broke down and he got sacked. They convert there and the game was over.

Instead, they punted near midfield, the defense couldn't hold them, and allowed San Diego to kick a game-tying FG.

I hate Rivers, and I really wanted the Colts to win this one, but this is really on the Colts players.

I agree. The holding call was a hold, and the facemask was obvious. Even if he had let go, with the new rule, it still was going to cost them 15 yards. I don't think the new rule is fair, by the way, and it's just a matter of time before that cost a team dearly in a huge game.

I also remember the Colts getting a break on a reversal on what looked to me to be a fumble by the Colt's kick returner near the end of the 1st half. It would have given SD the ball with great field position and a chance to at least attempt a FG before the half. That ball was coming out of his hands before his knee hit the ground.

  3. There is NO POSSIBLE EXCUSE for not using Hixon on kick returns throughout the postseason. We face a 1 game elimination from here on out and this guy is a beast in the return game. Time to give him some double duty... Don't be a fool Tom!

    I agree 100%.

  4. I hope Lowe signs. If he signs for this much, I hope we'll be able to grab Perez as well. If they sign Lowe, I think the Mets will finally make the playoffs.

I really like Derek Lowe, and hoped all along he'd the be one they would go after. I think he's exactly the gritty type of veteran this team needs. I agree about bringing Perez back, too.

    Santana

    Lowe

    Pelfrey

    Perez

    Maine

That would be a nice rotation to go with what should be a stronger bullpen.

Hopefully they sign them and start working on some bats!

  5. the dog isn't suggesting that it is probable, but then again, a year ago, nobody was sitting there saying that the giants were going to go on the road to below zero temperatures in green bay against favre after pulling off two straight upsets on the road with a QB that had yet to show he could play in cold weather and win...and they did...so...

But, what the Giants did show up to that point, was that they could run the ball and pressure the other team's QB. So there was always a chance that anything could happen.

And I'm not sure how much of an upset beating Tampa really was. I'm sure they were favored since they were the home team, but they weren't really all that good. They were this year's Cardinals. Decent team in a shitball division.

  6. the dog agrees with just about 100% of what you are saying...the reality is, the cards have no business coming east in january and beating a better team...but the fact is, they do have the weapons to be that sneaky dangerous team that pulls an upset and has everyone scratching their heads...

I disagree 100%. The Cards are not, and cannot be sneaky dangerous. They are too one dimensional to be sneaky, and I see no possible way they can win a game in Jersey in January, unless the weather is uncharacteristically un-January-ish and Spagnuolo gameplans to stop the non existent running attack and stacks ELEVEN in the box.

Of course, there is the possibilty that the Giants can play a sloppy game, let them hang around, and they can steal it, but I don't see that happening either.

  7. Pay a debt my ass, theres no debt to be paid. He tries to say everything I say is non factual, and I said prove it. Were talking about maybe 2 things here, which I pointed out already, thats not everything. The first to win 3 on the road, the conference head to head, thats not what we're talking about nor did I get those wrong. Those were never a direct conversation between us where he asked me a question and I got it wrong. He cant just pull shit from other conversations and twist them in his favor. Now, like I said to the dog....NEXT! :)

    Oh snap, I've been NEXTED.

    :(

  8. My issue with Atlanta is the same one with Philly, Turner and Westbrook. Short dump passes to a running back will kill the Giants. There's no way Peirce could cover either of them. And I'm not sure how much Spags is willing to give him safety help as both QBs can air it out.

On second inspection though, Turner has 6 catches this year (17 in 4 years) which is really surprising to me. Even so, him getting the ball in space is frightening.

Even more frightening is Norwood getting the ball in space, or getting those little dump offs with Pierce chasing him.

  9. um...once again, in every thread today, it was you that started with the dog (just to be clear on that one), as well as you bumping up a thread from over a week ago to respond to what the dog had said...

as per this little debate, as per the usual, you start something, then when clearly wrong, you try and change the rules to fit what you want...quite amusing, but again, your true colors show, and it speaks to character and integrity...you were quite wrong on the giants being the first team to win three games on the road in the playoffs...you were quite wrong when you stated that conference record is the tie breaker over head-to-head...and you were quite wrong on all other accounts that you were kind enough to mention above. but don't change your signature as you said you would...the dog gives you a pass, since you can't run away from your character...or lack there of...WOO!

As a loser of a bet two years in a row in which I had to change my avatar to something pro-Yankee :puke:, I have to agree with the dog on this one, the debt should be paid, and signature changed. Nothing personal blue...

  10. Eli is clearly the better QB. But let's call a spade a spade... Romo is better than backup material. He's a good QB, he's just not even close to being clutch.

When he has 5 seconds to throw and his receiver is wide open. I never bought into the Romo hype, he's a bum.

  11. :o Oh my God, 44-3??

I honestly expected Dallas to lose this game, but I thought at the least, their defense would show up. I figured it would be a tight game and in the end, their QB Shane Falco would blow it like he always does.

    This is awesome.

  12. Fifth time, actually.

1972 Dolphins- Larry Csonka 1117, Mercury Morris 1000

1976 Steelers- Franco Harris 1128, Rocky Bleier 1036

1985 Browns- Kevin Mack 1104, Earnest Byner 1002

2006 Falcons- Warrick Dunn 1140, Michael Vick 1039

Yeah, the article I read didn't list Dunn and Vick. I guess they were only counting RB duos.

  13. We might as well get used to it, cause Ward is gone next year. Take it to the bank.

There's an article on nfl.com where Jacobs says he asks Ward how much money he's looking for and every week it gets bigger. Jacobs knows the guy is gone. He doesn't even have to hit 1000 yards, he's gonna be the most coveted free agent RB (other than BJ), and he deserves it.

Yeah, he's a goner. Hopefully Bradshaw will step into Ward's role nicely next season.
