  1. msg is not a big pace. it's pretty easy to sell that place out, and real hockey fans are extremely loyal. im talking about casual fans--i can't tell you how many rangers stanley cup t-shirts i saw on people who didnt even folow sports when i was 12. it was pretty sickening. this town will always have a ton of front runners.

the giants have a bigger base than the jets, but remember the jets have long island which has a ton of people and, more importantly, a ton of young people on it. younger people make up a bigger percentage of the jets fan base than younger people make up the giants fan base. just go to a giants home game and a jets home game (i've been to both) and look around you--it's like night and day.

i have no idea why there is a lack of buzz on wfan. i dont drive anymore so i haven't listened to that station since september. i will tell you though that francessa doesn't root for either team and evan and joe are jet fans, and they make up like 8 hours of the daily schedule.

i haven't noticed anything in nyc--i watch the games alone in my apt and i live in hipstertown, bk so my area is not big on sports at all

Where exactly is hipstertown? I grew up in Brooklyn, right next door to a place that has become very hipsterish in recent years. Just wondering if it's the same place. If you don't want to say, it's cool, but if you tell me you ride the L train, it's the area I'm talking about.

  2. It's not my biggest problem...but it's certainly one of the more disappointing ones...and it has been an ongoing theme all year.

I thought the Giants ruled NFL in New York....it seems to me New York=baseball and Jets.

2 million people showed their support on a cold winter day last February, most missing work or school. How's that for a fanbase?

You can't control who other people sell their tickets to, and since NY is the biggest market, it's safe to say the percentage of people from other cities, states, countries living in the NYC area are greater than in most other markets. You can't label an entire fanbase because some people sold their tickets to the wrong color jersey. They own the tickets and it's their right to do whatever they want with them.

  3. well giants fans, come to the dog for all of your accurate NFC playoff information...

Not to take anything away from the dog, but really all you did was state the obvious. We all know they have weapons, and we all know upsets are part of the game sometimes, and that on any given Sunday, any team can win. I didn't see any "Cards will beat Panthers and advance to their 1st ever championship game" predictions. It was more along the lines of "anything can happen" ho hummery.

I will go out on a limb and say that IF the Giants win today, they are going to the Super Bowl. I've said all along that there is no chance in hell the Cards are winning a game in the Meadowlands in January. Especially if that game is the NFC Championship Game against the reigning champs.

Go Giants. Beat them Eagles. The road to the Super Bowl was made toll free last night.

  4. It has been a bad start to the weekend for the road teams if you believe in the law of averages, because if you do, you would know that the chances are now slimmer based on probability that either or both of the road teams will win tomorrow.

Think the Cards will root for the Eagles tomorrow?

    ;)

I was kind of thinking about something along those lines before. I was thinking it has been a bad start for the teams who had byes, and that tomorrow things should even out.

  5. ok...but first, the dog never said failure - it is settling for less. and as a fan of a defending champion that rolled through the regular season, got the number 1 seed, and is very arguably the best team in the league, how can you want to settle for less? it's fine if you do, but to just want to be competetive is best left for the fans of teams with average expectations or lower, in the dog's opinion. the giants own the road to the super bowl, and are three games short of repeating - at this stage, it is not being a dreamer and certainly not a moron...it is very realistic, and the expectation should be so.

I wouldn't be content if the Giants lost this game, or lost next week. This team came out of the box on a rampage, and it would blow big time to have it end now. I would be happy if they at least got to the Super Bowl. Anything else, while maybe not a failure, it isn't exactly a success considering the team went 12-4 and beat every playoff team on it's schedule. (except Minny, but we all know they would have if it wasn't Week 17)

  6. like say, having another man's picture in your avatar in a lovely heart? the dog gets the whole fan thing, but you guys with your player/coach pictures there are really quite cute...ahhh, young love!

You like my new siggy? ;)

  7. exactly...the eagles won that game because Hixon (and other receivers) dropped too many passes. I doubt that happens again.

I don't get it when people say that game wasn't as close as the score made it seem. That game was a sludgefest, and except for a couple of big plays by Westbrook, Philly wasn't really impressive either, and THEY were the desperate team.

  8. you dont think its odd that "you two" are never logged in at the same time?

and if you look at the times of their posts, they often come within minutes of each other. I'm not saying they are one entity, but the case can be made.
