  1. The Mets would have won the world series if Piazza had the balls to go to the mound and take out Clemens after the rocket threw a fastball between his eyes. That would've gotten the Mets going, but instead he did nothing. Even after Clemens threw a broken bat at his feet, Piazza acted scared.

IMO, that was the defining moment of that series. Had Piazza gone off the deep end instead of squatting, the outcome would have been entirely different.

By getting himself ejected and probably suspended???

  2. ok, the dog will bite...how again does any of this translate into a demonstration of how good a QB eli manning is? in a year when he is sitting at home watching the playoffs, this post season gives creedance to how good he is?

the dog has obviously always been critical of manning, probably to an unfair extreme. he did have one of his best years statistically, that is true, but one area that seperates him from the three qb's you mention above, as well as from others in the league, is with the leadership in the dog's opinion...this year that team needed a leader more than anything, and he was not the guy. his blank, casual approach can work when the running game and defense takes the pressure off, and when others step up and provide a leadership face to the franchise...he had an opportunity this year to take on that role, and he didn't deliver in that respect.

side note, nate kaeding may go down as the worst postseason choke artist in league history...if you look at his playoff performances over the years, he is just plain awful. rivers is flat out annoying by way of his attitude (although this year he has seemed to grow up a little), but he is very good all around.

not sure what it means to be "considered among the likes of ryan and flacco," but sanchez is doing nothing more than managing the game well and not losing it for his team...exactly what they need him to be doing right now. just like another NY qb did a few years ago...

To say Eli just "managed" those games is again taking it to the unfair extreme. He led the team on a very important TD drive just before the half of the Dallas game. Played probably his best game ever to that point in GB, without throwing a TD. He led the Giants to two 4th quarter TDs in the Super Bowl. He made a lot plays in every game that postseason, and was much more than a "game manager". I'm not saying he's great, he's a very good QB who may one day be considered great.

Keep in mind that Eli had no running game and what many believed was to be a suspect WR corp. He beat the Falcons when the defense tried to give it away. Beat Dallas twice. Would have beaten the Eagles in December and given the Giants the division lead had the defense made ONE stop. Also lost a game to SD on a last minute drive against that putrid defense. Hard to win when your defense is giving up the 2nd highest point total in team history. He did have a couple of clunkers this year, but he was the least of their problems and I'm glad we have him.

  3. Dude......Dom Deluise could have thrown that pass to Tyree. Super Bowl MVP's never go to a defense, but we all know damn well who won that game for the Giants. Eli's drive was one for the ages, correct. But aren't QB's supposed to get better (or at least stay the same) in future years...especially when they are young? He looks like he's declining to me.

I love the Giants. Always have, always will. I hate bashing people like Eli because he's a stand-up guy. He's a very good role model for the youngies out there. But why is it so hard for you guys to admit that opposing teams are daring Eli to beat them with the pass and he can't do it. I haven't heard one explanation for my theory. Just a lot of "you guys are retarted" and "you're an idiot". Give me one reason why you think I'm wrong in saying defenses are daring Eli to win a game with his arm.

He beat Dallas with his arm. He beat Atlanta with his arm. He had the team in position to beat SD with his arm, and the defense blew it. Going back to the Super Bowl, it was the defense that blew a late lead that Eli used his arm to help build, and then Eli used his arm to get it back. I'm not bashing the Giants defense in that playoff run, it was amazing, I'm just saying...

The running game is poop, the guy's playing hurt, e never blames anyone but himself. Cut him some slack.

  4. I was happy to see Putz hitting 95-96 on the gun.

I watched all of that game, and it was a good game. Playoff like atmosphere. Thank God for the WBC. I can't stand spring training and it's too damn long.

These guys calling the game are getting a little annoying though. Too much talk about how much these guys want it and how important it is to them and "you are playing for the name on the front, not the back". Sounds way too rehearsed.

  5. Isn't Cushing projected to go pretty high? I saw one mock draft that him selected 12th.

NFL Network mock draft had Giants taking a DE, Jackson from LSU.

I'm not saying these mocks are set in stone, but I just don't see Cushing falling to the Giants. Are there rumors of the Giants moving up or something?

  6. Dallas, Dallas, We are the Cowboys, super strong, super speed, fe fi fo..Dallas Cowboys, Cowboy football!!!

You know what I just realized? The Cowboys went the entire decade of 2000-2009 without winning a playoff game. That has to be a first in their history. A playoff winless decade, wow. So super strong...

  7. man some people are frustrating(noone here)

im on another site arguing with another giants fan, hes bitchin about this signing saying reese needs to start pulling the trigger more and not trying to save a buck.

    he says

idiot, this is exactly the type of guy to do what you just said

    damn frustrating

Like the Skins and Cowboys do?? He obviously has not been paying attention to the NFL. You don't need to sign "big name" players to succeed. Crazy how a Giant fan wouldn't understand this, considering his team recently won a championship without such players, with Burress being the exception... somewhat.

  8. I can't imagine it would be nearly as sad, desperate and pathetic as you are acting now that Ortiz and Pedro are on the verge of being realized for the steriod abusing frauds that they are. :LMAO: Good Times.

I might cry myself if Pedro is ever found to have been a roider. Not because he was a Met (he only had one good season here) but the guy was so masterful at what he did. I'd hate for his career to be tainted.

  9. he definitely can't take any criticism either. lagrecca's the man though, i wish he had his own show

    Yeah Don rules...

Have you ever heard the way they make fun of LT and Don? Apparently, Don was interviewing LT and LT slurred some words and called him Fon-Don. They were playing it over and over one day and making fun of Don because he was caught off guard. They were calling him Fon-Don and a caller even called him that. It was hilarious.

  10. The other day I hear him say something along the lines of "MLB will always have problems because they will not kill the steroid scandal. MLB keeps re-hashing the steroid issue and they will never let it die because of the decisions they do and don't make. Let won't ley it die...........blah.blah,blah)

Meanwhile, for 3 fucking days I've heard nothing but the steroid issue on Kays' 1050 ESPN radio show. Let it die? THE MEDIA IS THE PRIME REASON WHY THE ISSUE WON'T DIE!!

Hey Kay, wake the fuck up and look in the mirror!

I was listening to the show that day, and was thinking what the hell is he talking about? Since the story broke, it's been the hot topic on his show. I like Kay's radio show, but every once in awhile he's a little full of himself.

  11. my history teacher used to cover baseball for USA today and said pujols's back was covered with acne too.

I joined a FOX Sports fantasy baseball league, and under the "news and notes" for Pujols it said something about LaRussa stating the league should have a no tolerance policy when dealing with steroids. I just thought that was kinda funny.

  12. One thing in his favor based purely on anecdotal evidence is that he never seemed to suffer from roid rage or some of the other symptoms of chronic steroid use such as discoloration of the skin; liver/kidney issues or heart problems. If he were to be found dirty however....I would not be knocked over.

That time he went after Mota.. that was pretty roid rage like.

I still don't think he did it, and don't think a groin injury is reason to suspect that he did. I read somewhere that groin injuries occur mostly after a sudden, accelerated movement, kind of like trying to get out of the way of a fastball.

  13. I know I'm going to a Spring game, maybe when they play the Tigers in Lakeland (about 20 mins from my house). Can't wait. For me, this time between pitchers and catchers reporting and actual spring training games being played is an annoying time. Actually, to a lesser extent, the spring training games are annoying. When opening day comes, I will be ecstatic. I love baseball, even though its had its black marks recently, I love everything about the game.

Me too. I can't stand spring training. I'm glad we get the WBC this year as we'll see competitive games and it will shorten spring training a little. GO USA!!

I also find it hilarious that A-Rod is Dominican this time around.

  14. I was trying to be nice and joke around a little bit...but apparantly I've gotten you all worked up.

So you're basically resorting to "NO I'M NOT YOU ARE!!!"....Nice example of an intelligent argument from one who is supposed to be shaping the minds of our youth. Heaven help us.

No Yankee fan I know calls it Yankee Universe or even acknowledges it. I know this is a safer route for you to take then arguing actual facts but I can understand that this is what your intelligence level allows.

Take a deep breath and when you want to have an intelligent discussion let me know.

    Evil Empire is way cooler.
