  1. Steve Philips just said that the reason the Mets are not so great is that they lack a "flawless" player. Morgan just bitch slapped his bitter/angry/jealous theory down, but would I would have asked is who is a flawless player? Roger Cedeno? Roberto Alomar? Todd Zeile? Daryl Hamilton? Kevin Appier?

What a bag of douche Philips is.

They talked about that bullshit for 15 minutes.

And that might top the list of dumbest things I've ever heard during a game. A flawless player in a game where getting a hit 3 out of 10 times gets you in the HOF?

  2. Feliciano did no wrong, once Reyes fucked it for him though he should have been taken out by thuglife manager, there is no logical explanation for those actions. Willie never even did stuff that blatantly stupid.

I was pissed too but Jerry said the next day if he brought in a righty Garret would have pinch hit for Diaz. So it was a tougher call then we think.

  3. That would be very stupid. This guy, along with Jordan Zimmermann could be a great 1, 2 punch

at the top of there rotation. There pitching staff could be even scarier if Daniel Cabrera and Scott

Olsen ever got their heads on straight, but they never will.

Cabrera is a lost cause IMO. He's the perfect example of why there's too many teams and not enough pitchers in the majors.

  4. I don't mean to rush to conlusions but it's pretty clear how Citi Field is gonna play out. Our offensive guys are gonna have to be line drive hitters, and speed will be imperative.

At least it's an attractive spot for an FA pitcher. Although I'd like to start developing some of our own guys for a change.

  5. ehh... he at this point is the 5th or 6th reliever of the bunch anyway... in a perfect world the Mets drive in some runs and Krod is pitching the bottom of the inning....truth be told he does suck though. My guess is he will be good(like Heilman)when he goes elsewhere away from the stench of this team.

I'm starting to think it's about time to re-build this team. Delgado can't really field, contract year, an AL team would give up some guys for him.

We're just gonna continue to waste the prime of the best two players and pitcher in decades if we don't make big changes.

  6. Church is a notorious good starter and horrific finisher....stay tuned. ;)

BTW all these people that love Church do realize that in the last 6 weeks he went from everyday Rfer, to the guy who was going to platoon and lose bats to Tatis, not Daniel Murphy as previously believed to the Mets signing 78 year old Gary Sheffield to take some at bats from him. See a pattern here.

I hope he keeps it up, he could be an extra piece in a deal for Halladay come July

Count me in on that one. That'd probably be pending F-Mart's progression this year too.

  7. Talk to me when baseball is being played in weather that is not football weather. These early struggles will work themselves out.

I will ask it again though, would you rather have Putz, Rodriguez and Sheffield or Lidstrom, Bell and Manny?

Lindstrom looks pretty shaky as a closer. I would have him on board as an 8th inning guy or a smaller role, but I'll take Putz over him.

Why couldn't we sign Andruw Jones over sheff?

  8. In all honesty, I LOVE the Giants, LOVE Eli, I'm one of his biggest and most consistent supporters, but I absolutely dread this year. Even if we get Boldin, Gillbride love of passing in bad situations is going to kill us with no Plax or Plax type player to haul in those desperation throws.

How in the FUCK is he still our OC?

Wonder if the Bills would trade James Hardy for say a 3rd or 4th round pick?

When we had Plax that wasn't really the case. Our offense for the most part was in rhythm, racking up running yards, and was productive enough through the air.

He's not the brightest guy but he was doing fine when all our key guys were healthy and the wind wasn't howling.

With that said he does have to re-prove himself again with last year's collapse.

  9. I was listening to it on mlb gameday audio. They couldn't get the WFAN feed working (shocker) so I had to listen to the Reds feed. Those dinks were complaining about how bad Harang was getting squeezed, but at the same time that Santana was extremely wild. That didn't add up to me, but I didn't get to see the replay.

There was absolutely no consistency with the strike zone. For both sides. Pitches on the outside corner were a strike one inning, then were a ball the next.

  10. WHAT? Are you crazy? No such thing as clutch at bats? So winning games in April and hitting with RISP is less in April?

Although I agree its early, its never to early to set the tone and establish what you do well.

No doubt it's nice to get into a groove early with hitting but these situations just aren't considered "clutch" IMO.

I remember on opening day last year our situational hitting looked pretty good. We all saw how that turned out as the year ended.

If anything, I was pleased with how deep our batters were taking counts. They showed a good eye at the plate. It's just a matter of getting a hold of a pitch.
