  1. think what you like. i still say as a manager with a 2 run lead and 2 outs, i'd much rather face niekro with 2 on then bonds with 1 on. regular rules of baseball don't apply, we're talking about a guy who's been intentionally walked with the bases loaded.
  2. you have to be kidding posting standings in April
  3. No Slaw, i got my fill. I will leave this poorly maintained section now and see you back here on June 2nd. :worshippy:
  4. I agree with everything except the "great" keith hernandez part. with barry though, you have to have a strategy and stick with it. i think it was more his record against Wagner.
  5. UGh- Good game Mets fans. But tell me, why does Randolph walk Barry with Alou on deck but not walk him up by 2 in the ninth with Niekro on deck. Doesn't make sense but it turned out ok for you guys. I love the speed on your team.
  6. Rubber game tomorrow at 1235 pt. Floyd's shot was large, big splash landing. The Human Rain Delay beats us again.
  7. section15 was my original Giants Board name, I could never get it back after they went to the new board.
  8. its a popular side dish made of shredded cabbage, sugar and mayonnaise, often served with ribs or bbq chicken.
  9. that was your managers fault. and what about bringing in a releiver to walk Bonds? that was a really dumb move. why not let glavine walk bonds intentionally and the bring in a reliever? he really upset the guys rythym that way.
  10. haha, my stepdaughter's a yankee fan (oh, the shame) this is blunatic. btw.
  11. ok no problem. no doubt about cain, funny thing was looking at the matchup page, Glavin and him looked like new years eve symbols. Glavin is such a great pitcher. Any Met fan that puts him down doesn't know much about baseball. No one throws a change up like he does.
  12. not as an excuse, but i do believe that his race makes it worse.
  13. oh i know, he's a great ballplayer. and delgado just missed puuting the mets ahead.
  14. nice to know, who's worried? we're having a nice discussion between fans of 2 teams that happen to be playing each other. I don't see why you have a problem with that.
  15. No one (except Giants fans) will ever respect him and he doesn't care. You're talking about a guy who, even though he was the best player on his high school team, he was unanamously voted off when he missed too many practices. Of course the coach rescinded the vote. He's a bad man Of course you're right about the witch hunt. A white man who is just as surly (say Kirk Gibson, for instance) would not be facing the same animosity.
  16. Recap: Glavine was money (what a great pitcher he is) , Cain was gold. Randolph walked Barry ( I don't know why managers are still walking him. The guys batting .218 with a .500 OBP), Alou made him pay. 6-2. Goodnite, see ya tomorrow.
  17. well, this is a bit more personal. Apparently Vizquel wrote a book and said in it that Mesa choked in the '97 world series (which he did). Mesa vowed to throw at him everytime he faces hi. He's hit him 3 times so far, I think.
  18. Prepare to lose 3 at "Insert Phone Company name here" Park. GO Giants!
  19. i was living in NY at the time. There was 3 years of build up followed by 2 years of destruction. I don't think he ever faced a batter in the bigs, did he?
  20. you're still pissed about that Yankee phenom who hurt his arm in the bar fight.
  21. Bob Gibson, Dave Stewart, Doc Gooden??? Its a tough trade, but I would take Dontrelle. He's a young Ace with a healthy arm, that's gold.
  22. Now I love Morris even more. He plunked 2 batters in the 1st inning in retaliation to Omar Vizquel getting beaned by Jose Mesa the night before. Got to love that.
