  1. A fourth round pick and an extra 3 mill or so would be worth two potentially dominating WRs and an excellent third WR to go along with Shockey, Barber, and the #1 overall pick with a talented line.

I see the risk involved in this but considering we could still have money left over from a new deal like this one to go to our defense, it'd be a tremendous move.

Javon is a #1 WR and is going to want to be paid like one. He wasn't happy with his contract in GB prior to last year. We already have our #1 and it's pointless to get a guy who we may be able to afford at the time being, but will ask for too much money sooner or later. Plus, he's an injury risk. I'd rather keep the pick and cash.

  2. Javon before he had this rough year or so, hasn't caused any bickering about being the #1 WR. We said the same thing about Keyshawn and at the press conference he said he doesn't even know what a #1 WR is other than Steve Smith.

    Javon is in his prime.

    Keyshawn is past his.

Not to mention the money we'd have to pay him.

    I'll pass on this one.

  3. Are we looking for can't miss guys in the seventh round? Anyone with an upside like Robinson I'll take in the 7th round. Not saying he has a great upside that will launch him as a starting position player in the NFL but he still has some nice speed and at least has some value.

Yeah honestly I'd take him in the 7th if he's around since most 7th rounders don't amount to anything. His versatility makes him have so much more upside than if he was just playing QB. I doubt we take him, but it would be an interesting pick if we did.

  4. He before he got injured was turning into one of the best WRs in the NFL. A fourth round pick for a proven guy like him is a steal.

Umm, I know this but he's a guy who wants to be a #1 WR and with Plax, Shockey, and Toomer on the team getting someone like Walker would just cause more tension.

  5. He said some pretty harsh things about Green Bay. I wonder if we can work out a deal. Ernie has never been shy to deal out some picks and this is his final season. He should make an impression. A fourth rounder for a guy like Walker would kick ass.

    Why?

  6. man i watch this tape and cry, not bc it ended Theismanns career but at a time in history we had guys like #56, #53, #58, #64, #75 in NYG blue...

how far we have fallen since... :cwy:

The age of Free Agency makes it tough to put together a defense like that and have them stay together for years.

  7. i cant make an honsest assessment of the man, he never plays and is always hurt...

True, but he did show flashes of being a quality 3rd wideout his rookie year. I would love for him to be completely healthy this year so we could have a true assessment of his playing ability.

  8. at first glance, the immediate thought that came to mind when i read the title of this thread was MORE injury news involving Jammar Taylor...like he broke his legs getting out of bed...good thing it wasnt that kind of news...

So you believe Taylor is an asset to the team and has potential?

  9. Here's a little dose of reality:

All the QBs with a lower QB rating than Eli were cut or benched with the exception of Vick, who we all know can't pass - I guess in Barney world that makes Eli a good QB.

And who is one of the least experienced QB's on that list??

  10. I love Tiki, but if I had a dollar for every douche bag that thought nothing of him as a 3rd down back in 1999 or every asswipe that wanted him gone in 03 when he dropped the ball like it was 5000 degrees I would be a rich man.

Yeah, I remember watching Tiki play during his rookie year (before his knee injury) and thought to myself "Damn, this guy's gonna be good." I was right.

  11. O f the NFL QBs that started more than 5 games last season Eli ranked 31st in completion percentage - 31st of of 32 means you suck - he was even behind Boller and Harrington and they are both busts.

We also had a lot of drops this past season especially between Shockey and Burress. Remember that end zone pass Eli threw to Tim Carter? Absolutely perfect and Carter dropped it.

  12. Eh, I'm not so sure. Yeah, he's looking for a sizable payday (just like every other FA out there), there's no doubt, but I definitely think that he would like that shot to go against his old team twice a year. There's no way I think he's getting JP money, just don't see it with the attitude he had in Wash. Of course, I think that was an issue he had with that organization. 1 problem with 1 organization doesn't really prove to be a track record. Could very well be an isolated thing. But I'm sure that there are ways to build those types of things into contracts.

He's used to being on a team that overpays for players while the Giants organization doesn't budge that easily. Maybe he'll come crawling back but if we do take him we better not pay an arm and a leg for him.

  13. lets puts this to bed !

i am not and advocate of the FAB 4 or who ever the hell

they are and there negativity !!!

I am a 40 year giants fan that has watched 550 + giants games and this thread is about

lavar arrington and his possibility of becoming a giant ! Right??

SOOOO with that said I cant see spending that type of money like peterson got

on HIM!!! ALso i said that that type of money could go else where like fixing

a mediocre DT core!! In the context of talking Arrington we are speaking of the

GIants Defense and improving upon it !! So what seems to be your problem

or challenge with my concern for the DT position! IT ALL TIES IN!!!!!!

WHen there is a problem you stay with it until its fixed !!

You call it redundant and I call it being consistant !!!!

I'm sorry if I offended you ! well not really!!! :flex:

No offence taken and I for one do not care that you are a Giants fan of 40 years. That doesn't make you any better than me, just older. You say we have a problem at DT and I do agree we need help in the area but please offer solutions instead of reiterating the "problem". Give us draft proposals, thoughts on FA, or anything please.

  14. Though Clancy was honest it sickens me how professional athletes are so greedy these days and not thankful for what they have. Nothing is good enough. I'm glad we have people like Tiki and Toomer who are willing to take pay cuts to retire on this team. We have some of the most loyal players in the NFL.

  15. exactly !! and can you blame him !! what good is a great set of LB's

if you cant put together the right DT's?

gaping holes thru the line of scrimage!!

Not signing him is wise at this point!

    Feeling redundant?? <_<
