  1. ...Denver?

We were outplayed in that game until the 4th quarter.

What I don't get (besides the obvious disregard for the team that is coming into the season as the defending NFC East Champions) is where they come off thinking that Carolina is better than Seattle. Yeah Carolina beat up on a Giants team that was nowhere near full strength, and then beat Chicago, but when it came to Seattle, Carolina got there asses handed to them. Now most people would say that I'm basing this (my argument that Seattle is better than Carolina) on that one game, but everyone is basing the entire 2005 season for the Giants on the playoff loss so what's the difference? The other thing is that they said something to the effect of "Someone has to win this division (NFC North)" What is that all about? Chicago was 12-4 last year and they were the 2nd seed in the playoffs. It's not like that division is horrible. Also what were the Jags doing ranked 17th in the league when they were 12-4? Although overlooked a lot, Jacksonville was amazing last season. The NFL analysts on ESPN are full of crap and have no knowledge whatsoever. That was made completely clear today as I watched Merril Hodge on ESPNEWS say that the Philadelphia Eagles would finish the season 9-6 and just miss the playoffs. No that isn't a typo, he said that they would finish 9-6. They're pathetic. :TD:

it's hard to tell since the guys arm covers whether its a 7 or 1. but by looking at the body, i think it's jacobs.

He looks jacked, but he also looks short. I think it's Barber.

    Offense

As far as what we need to improve on, I believe that our overall "predictability" needs to be dealt with. I think that with Moss and Carter (pending if he can stay healthy) we have a lot of creative offensive options. I see a lot of reverses and WR screens to start the season off and later on (meaning around weeks 4-6) we'll start to see the Giants start to stretch the field more often. If Eli can refine his mechanics and become more consistent, we could be looking at the most dominant offense we've ever had.

    Defense

I'd like to see the secondary get some picks... and seeing how stone hands is gone and we have a few ball hawks back there now, I should be satisfied. I'd also like to see our LBs stay on the field, and I'd like to see someone on the DL besides Strahan and Osi unleashing hell on the opposing offense. As great as they are, 92 and 72 shouldn't be the only people on the DL to be feared.

    Special Teams

Seriously, the only thing here that I can think of that really went wrong was that stretch where Feely was cold in his FGs. That should be fixed so nothing to really complain about here.

Thanx for giving me time to slightly evaluate areas of concern. :TU:

  3. Shockey's circus catch against the Chargers.

    Toomer's TD against Seattle.

    Plax's one-handed catch against SF.

Barber's run vs. Dallas (hard to explain but he was knocked up into the air and then hit again and somehow got his feet back on the ground and kept going.)

    Barber's game against KC

95 yard TD by Barber against Oakland

    Plax's TD vs. Oakland

Gibril Wilson's hit on Brad Johnson

    Shockey's rolling TD against SF

    just to name a few.

  4. So this starts off as a comment on the top 50 players in the NFL and you turn it into a pissing match about Shockey. The years that Shockey came to the VOLUNTARY WORKOUTS his production suffered, but the two years he went to Miami (rookie season and last season) he came back a beast. You will see the same in Burress this year. As someone eluded to eariler, Shockey has had three Pro Bowl selections in four years with four different people throwing him the ball, and two completely different coaching staffs. And I'll save you the time of typing this... Fab 4's response, "The Pro Bowl is a popularity contest." Fan voting is only a portion of the selection process, meaning that three times... Shockey was put into the Pro Bowl due to his production, not his popularity. Also I seem to recall the four of you complaining... or rather bitching about Shockey skipping the Pro Bowl to heal injuries that he had been playing with for most of the season. Please STFU or leave.

  5. Yes EA has such a good eye for talent - Ron Dayne instead of Shaun Aleexander, Eli Manning instead of Ben Roethlisberger and Shawn Merriman, William Joseph instead of Larry Johnson - a blind man could do better than Ernie.

Ron Dayne was a Heisman Trophy winner and as far as I know, EA can't see into the future, so how could he have known that Dayne would be a bust. Everyone thought that Dayne was the BPA at the time.

Eli Manning WILL be the best QB to come out of that draft when he fixes his mechanics. And don't even start that "Roethlisberger has a ring" debate cause the Steelers were on the edge of greatness before he got there. Eli outperformed Ben when they met in 2004, and although a missed Def. PI cost us the game(Toomer getting tripped), a blind man could see that Eli outplayed Ben.

As far as William Joseph goes, we needed a Defensive Lineman that year... not a RB. Why the fuck would we have drafted Larry Johnson just to have him sit on the bench and complain about not getting in?

Stop complaining or go be a Cowboys fan.

  6. When has TO excelled in an offense that is a)strucured, b)lacking a scrambling QB and c)based on running the football first and foremost?

To think he puts them head and shoulders above the other 3 teams is sily.

"You're not gonna catch 100 balls in this offense." Bill Parcells.

  7. i am an old giant fan from da bronx living in virginia since 1985and as you can guess have lots of redskin buddy's . most respect the g-men but they don't love them. all of my good redskin friends and iknow football very well and we can agree that one of the best rivalries (sp) in football is the giants and redskins.

just wanted to say hello to everyone back in n.y. GO GIANTS

    Welcome to the boards.

  8. Today I talked to the guy who caddied for Strahan. He said Strahan told him he would definitely be retiring in 2 seasons.

Then we should send him out on top. Strahan should retire as a Super Bowl Champion just like Bettis did this year.

  9. You can attribute Moss's lack of TDs to Miami's QBs. In most cases, great/good receivers have at least a decent QB. I didn't know about Brandon Stokeley (sp?) until he was a Colt, but looking back... he was the guy that burned our defense for the first TD in the Super Bowl. Now that he has Manning throwing him the ball, he's a dependable WR. Look at Moss for a second and think about who he played with. Brock Berlin is now a third string QB in the NFL. With Eli, Sinorice Moss is going to become a certified MONSTER. :flex:

  10. I noticed the helicopters he was throwing all season long. Oh, and did you notice in the opening frame? His arms are like Calista Flockhart's.

The only throw in that video that wasn't pretty was a touchdown pass to Amani Toomer in the Seahawks game. And regardless of the way the pass looked, you can't argue against the result.

  11. I watched it twice and noticed that most of ELI's on the money throws were the ones that he stepped into the throw. I know its obvious, but his troubles are correctable.

BTW awesome video. Hells Bells makes me want a kickoff NOW.

So that song is Hells Bells? That shit is hot.
