  1. It's not. Some businesses are just real picky.

I'm wondering how they got Violence/Hate mixed in there, because the racism thing I can understand, with the Fab 4 calling William Joseph a "Haitian piece of trash" among other things that are said on here. Where the hell did they get the violence thing though?

  2. Usually, Sportswrath is blocked by the content filter at my job. The keywords it is blocked for is 'Violence/Hate and Racism'. Just thought that to be funny.

That's kinda serious. I didn't know we were that bad. :o

  3. Philly!!! I think they're going to be the worst team in the division. Their offense leaves much to be desired. Our defense should match up really well against them. They have a very poor passing game which our secondary should be able to handle easily especially if we're getting pressure on Mcnabb which shouldnt be difficult give our rushing talent. Our backers sure have the speed to handle Westbrook so I think their offense will really struggle this year.

Their defense is pretty scary but I don't think that their is a defense in the NFL that will be able to shut our offense down. We simply have too many weapons and the greatest running back in the game.

I think Phily is still a year away from recovering from the TO fiascoe and is not a serious contender. The Skins could be very good this year since they've added Randle El, a much needed threat to their offense. But I think that Lavar will be out to kill and I don't see us getting swept by them.

As I said before, I think this is the most competitive NFC east that I can remember. I would not be suprised if 10-6 was good enough for division champs. Can't wait to get it started.

Honestly, as far as the Skins go, I can see them having down year. Every year they go out and spend money like Snyder is growing it in his basement and every year, with the exception of last year, they perform below their expectations.

  4. Since our team is pretty much set for the season, I thought now would be a good time to hear some predictions. Here are the following categories:

    1. Regular season record

    2. How far do we go this season? Miss playoffs, same as last year, nfc championship etc..??

    3. Who will lead the team in TD's?

    4. Who will lead the team in tackles?

    5. Who will lead the team in interceptions?

    6. Who will lead the team in sacks?

Im curious to see the fab 4's season prediction given their extensive football knowledge. Although they might not be willing to put their money where their mouth is only to be proven wrong, yet again.

    Here are mine.

    1. 11-5. I think the NFC east will be very competitive this year but I think we are the favorites to emerge as champs again. I think it goes: Giants, Redskins, Cowboys, Eagles.

    2. I think we win the NFC this year. I think the the following are the only legitimate contenders for the NFC: Seattle, Carolina, Arizona (yes, the Cards) and Chicago.

    3. Tiki Barber will lead the team in TD's and total yards again. I expect a huge year from Plax, though.

    4. AP will lead us in tackles. Lavar will be close behind.

    5. Im gonna go with Webster as leader in picks. I think teams will go at him instead of Madison and hopefully he will make them pay.

    6. I hope Osi only keeps getting better. Sky is the limit. He's my man to lead us in sacks.

I have VERY high expectations for this season and can't wait for it to start. GO GIANTS!

People I talk to on a regular basis don't seem to believe me when I say that the Giants had one of the most complete teams before the injury bug hit us. We really didn't need much to become a threat to EVERYONE. You're assessment is about as close to what I came up with as it gets.

    1. I think we go 11-5 or 12-4 and break that bullshit streak of losing after the bye week every year.

    2. If we don't win the NFC this year we will be in the Championship game as NFC East Champs. As far as the rest of the division... it's a toss up. The NFC East is a monster division, but we are the returning champs and I believe that we will play like them and repeat as champions.

    3. Tiki will lead the team in TDs again with Jacobs, Burress and Shockey not far behind. I say that Tiki has about 16-17 total and the others hover around 7-10.

    4. Pierce will lead us in tackles this year. There's no question about that, but I think that his performance will drive Arrington to have a great season.

    5. I don't know about the ints. I haven't really followed Madison's career and I only have Madden knowledge about him. Webster made some great plays last year, but towards the end of the year he was beaten a lot. I think a safety will lead us here but I don't know who.

    6. There will be a tie between Osi and Strahan here. Each will have 14-16.5 and will once again lead the league as a tandem. I can see Tuck having a decent sack total this year as well, and I know nothing about Kiwi so I can't comment on his performance until I see him in action.

  5. • Round 1 - 15 minutes

    • Round 2 - 10 minutes

    • Round 3 - 5 minutes

    • Round 4 - 5 minutes

    • Round 5 - 5 minutes

    • Round 6 - 5 minutes

    • Round 7 - 5 minutes

I could've sworn that they said the time would be reduced to keep the first round from lasting 5 hours this time.

  6. didn't you know, parents aren't allowed to hit thier own children anymore.

Now granted there is a line between discipline and abuse.

But damn I have heard way to many stories about parents you spanked thier children wind have to have social services come in every once in awhile because some little fuck brat teen didn't like his parents had hit him for something he did wrong and Called the cops.

I say in that case once the cops determine that the kid was being a spiteful little prick. The cop gets to beat him with the billy club for wasting his time and tax payer money

    lol.

  7. Hamilton

Ex-Giant avoids jail for hitting his son

He admits striking boy with electric cord

    Thursday, April 20, 2006

    BY MARGARET McHUGH

    Star-Ledger Staff

Retired Giants defensive tackle Keith Hamilton, who is on probation for a drug offense, faces no jail time for hitting his 12-year-old son with an electric cord under a plea deal he took yesterday.

In admitting he endangered his son, Hamilton, 34, candidly ex plained why he used corporal punishment Feb. 1 in his Montville home.

"I disciplined him the way I was raised. Certain occasions call for drastic measures," he told Superior Court Judge Joseph A. Falcone.

Hamilton, who is divorced from his children's mother, sends his son to a private school in Passaic, where he is one of only eight stu dents in his class, he said. When Hamilton saw his son's report card, it wasn't the poor grades that angered him, "it was the fact of not trying, in my eyes," he said.

Hamilton said he views school as very important, and his son's lack of effort was unacceptable.

Since his arrest, Hamilton has not been allowed to see either his son or daughter, who live with their mother in West Paterson. But, as of yesterday, he is permitted to have supervised visits, Assistant Morris County Prosecutor Catherine Broderick said.

A decision on unsupervised visits will be made after a psychologist evaluates him, Broderick said.

Being kept from his children has been "about the worst you guys could do," Hamilton said, al though he acknowledged that the order barring him from seeing them stemmed from his own actions. Hamilton, who also has a 9-month-old baby from another re lationship, said he now understands that what he did is illegal.

"I love my kids very much. The only reason I'm not playing football today is because I wanted to spend more time with my kids," said Hamilton, neatly dressed in a blue pinstripe suit but no tie, and sporting a clean-shaven head and goatee.

Under his plea deal, Hamilton will serve three years on probation, beginning in August 2007 when he completes his probation for a 2004 cocaine possession conviction. Hamilton was caught with a gram of cocaine during a May 2003 motor vehicle stop on Route 287 in Harding.

A charge of second-degree ag gravated assault will be dismissed when he is sentenced June 23.

Police said Hamilton struck his son with an electric cord and surge protector, and picked him up by his throat and elbowed him in the chest. The beating left welts and bruises on the boy's legs, back and left forearm.

Morris County Prosecutor Michael M. Rubbinaccio personally approved the plea offer.

"I believe the plea offer was fair, understanding the entire family's desire to continue to have a rela tionship, and the defendant's sincere desire to rehabilitate himself, as well as maintaining a relation ship with his children," Rubbinac cio said.

"It is important that this sen tence break the cycle of family violence manifested through disci pline, which the defendant also learned growing up, particularly so this conduct does not pass to his children," Rubbinaccio said.

Though Hamilton violated his probation with the Feb. 1 arrest, Rubbinaccio noted the incident was unrelated to the drug convic tion, and that the probation department confirmed Hamilton has been drug-free.

Hamilton already is serving 1,080 hours of community service as part of his sentence on the co caine possession charge.

He has worked with Neighborhood House, the Rockaway Township Rockets Football League, Butler High School, Wayne Township PAO, Keep Children Safe Program at St. Justine's Preschool in Newark, a football camp for inner-city youth in Washington, D.C., Special Olympics, Eva's Village, DARE graduation in Linden, and the county's Drug Court, Rubbinaccio said.

Now I got my ass beat as a child, but never with a damn cord. Couldn't he have found a belt or something?

  8. Take a look at all these DRAFT busts!!!

Round Pick Overall Name Position School

    3 2 58 Tyrone Davis DB Clemson

    3 17 73 Brian Johnston C North Carolina

4 16 100 Mark Bavaro TE Notre Dame

    12 18 326 Herb Welch DB UCLA

Of course Mark Bavaro was the steal of that years draft.

I actually met Lee Rouson. He spoke at my high school about drug abuse or something like that. He was before my time so I don't remember him at all.

  9. no...I don't think but...let's look at THIS draft by the Giants (and tell me what u think?)

Round Pick Overall Name Position School

2 11 40 Michael Strahan DE Texas Southern

    3 10 66 Marcus Buckley LB Texas A&M

    4 9 93 Greg Bishop OT Pacific

5 11 123 Tommy Thigpen LB North Carolina

    6 10 150 Scott Davis OG Iowa

    7 9 177 Todd Perterson K Georgia

    7 11 207 Jessie Armstead LB Miami

Can U believe that Armstead was a 7th rounder???

Damn. What the hell happened to the rest of that draft class?

  10. Oh, please. They won a watered down division with a powder puff schedule. And then their glaring deficiencies were on display for all to see versus Carolina in the Wild Card debacle. Fans were walking out at halftime. And this year, with the schedule the Giants have, they'll be lucky if the stadium is quiet because the only sound they'll be hearing is "Boo!!"

Three out of the four teams in the division were in the playoff race until the very end, and you call it watered down? Your whole argument is "Eli sucks, Shockey sucks, Plaxico sucks" and you fail to realize that we were outdone in EVERY phase of that game. Offense, Defense, Special Teams and Coaching all failed in that game. Our gameplan was fucked up from the start and our TEAM didn't show up either. You're also making a schedule assessment in April, before the draft, before the June 1st cuts, and before training camp. You don't know what the hell will happen between now and when the season starts. So again... Stop Bitching.

  11. To refresh everyones memory, it is against the ROE to make false claims about a free agents signing status. Threads thatm either have a heading or the content of the thread makers post that claim a free agent signs with any team, that is untrue will be deleted.

This does not include rumors, if a certain site claims they have knowledge of a players intent to sign, that would be acceptable as long as a link to the article is provided.

It's very trivial, but people come here while at work to get the latest on certain players status, so lets try not to mislead anyone, lets stick to real football talk or ligitimate rumors.

    Amen Rev. VG. Amen :TU:

  12. I got the chance to see him play in College, UVA vs Wake Forest (I think), and was very impressed then. Can't tell you how excited I was when the Giants drafted him in the second round.

Nice sig. Get some Mets in there and it'll be perfect. :P
